CH 13 Assassins and New Friends Part 2

A while later, Shyam and his team were seated inside the plant fortress, munching through a bunch of upgraded fruits Rudra produced through Flora Manipulation. Rudra was seated next to a small reclining chair he made for Mukti, who was sleeping in it. Whatever special mode she had activated while fighting had taken a lot out of her and even injured her internally.

Once Shyam and his team had finished most of the fruits, Rudra finally raised the question that had been plaguing him so far.

"What do want from us?" Rudra said while slightly tensing his shoulder. After his encounter with the assassins, he was not going to let anyone worm into his trust zone easily. He only trusted Mukti now, as she had risked her life to give him a chance to survive.

"Ahem" Shyam sat straight and began to speak seriously and politely "As I introduced us before, we are also participating in this entrance test and have formed a team. I came searching for you specifically because I would like to invite you to become a member of my team."

"Not interested" Rudra refused in a similarly polite tone. He couldn't form a team with those he can't trust, and he definitely couldn't form a team with someone whom he met in the middle of an attack.

"Please don't be so hasty in refusing," Shyam said.

Seeing Rudra tense up suddenly, he hurried to clarify any misunderstanding "Please don't get worried, I won't be using any kind of force or blackmail. I am simply trying to make an offer and would like you to listen to it all before making the decision."

Rudra thought for a while before nodding. It wouldn't hurt to listen to him. After all, it is possible that the benefits, that Shyam was offering, would be very useful. Since Rudra was technically still new to this world, it would probably be better to listen.

"Thank you for listening." Shyam said "Now, what I offer are three immediate benefits and one long term benefit. Number 1, one of us has the power to heal, hence she will be able to help that Preta Girl there cleanly without leaving any hidden injuries internal organs. You should have realized that even if we recover swiftly due to the presence of Inhuman Energy in our bodies, it is still possible to gain some hidden sequelae after such drastic injuries due to over-drafting secret techniques."

"Number 2, we can help you obtain a better evaluation in this test. You guys have been chilling in the outer areas without going to the inner main areas, where true danger exists."

"You already know about the existence of Darkside and the Hidden Dimensions. We'll all hidden dimensions contain monsters formed from the overflowing energy of the Darkside. The academies use this monster as training targets for all Inhumans studying with them, as ultimately the true purpose of academies is to train Inhumans to resist the dark forces from the Reverse side of the Dark side."

"Though the current dimension we are in is not a true hidden dimension, the central area of this forest still contain monsters. Hunting them is the activity that gives the largest amount of points in this exam. While showing off survival skills like this also gets you points, its amount is low. Hence it is best to participate in the monster hunt. Hunting in teams is even more recommended as the weakest monster is still capable of wiping the floor with a grade 3 inhuman in a one vs one match."

"Now third and the most important, you still don't have a class," Shyam said while pointing at Rudra "I know your guardian must have told you about classes hence you know its benefits. If you join my team, I can help you acquire a class or even a subclass if you are lucky."

"I was told that you can only gain class when you join an academy?" Rudra asked confused

"Well, that is both right and wrong," Shyam said, "Classes are obtained through the influence of a special inheritance the first generation of Inhumans left behind. They had directly got their blessings from the gods; those blessings were the existence of the first classes."

"The System you can see is something partially sentient. As soon as some change is made in the balance of the world, it automatically adapts to it to maintain the balance. Once the gods granted the first Inhumans the blessing of classes, the system automatically adapted to it."

"Now every academy holds special inheritance space, where you can go to gain or upgrade your class. However, apart from this, there are also some exceptions. Most of the biggest inhuman clans are those that are descendants of the first Inhumans. Hence apart from the inheritance spaces in the academies, most big Inhuman clans have a method to temporarily simulate the effect of an inheritance space."

"However, the problem is that this method is unorthodox so you can't choose a specific fixed class. The class choices you gain will completely be dependent on your skills and affinities of soul. But usually strong people get strong choices, so it's not usually a problem."

"But the downside is that there is a small chance that you will gain an unfavorable choice, and unlike the inheritance spaces in the academies, you can't reject the list and try later. Once the list has appeared you will have to choose one. Moreover, your chosen class can't be changed until you reach the highest level in it. Therefore, there are risks to this method too, but the pros outweigh the cons."

"Finally, the long-term benefit is that you will have a powerful group of friends as your backing. All four of us are the top genius of our respective clans, hence our recruitment expectations are so strict. Otherwise, there would have been many who want to join our team."

Rudra thought about it for a while, this was a lot of unexpected information exposure. For some reason, he really felt he was going to get some great classes if the choice was completely based on his abilities and soul. This confidence came from his bundle of upgraded skills, terrifying innates, and his reincarnated soul.

"Can Mukti also participate in this?" Rudra asked Shyam while glancing at the sleeping girl "I ow her a lot."

"Well, I don't have a problem with that, except that I think she already has a class. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to gain such power skills that are not her innate."

"How would you know she didn't use her innate?" Rudra asked surprised.

"Because she was injured by her skill of course," Shyam said while chuckling "Innates is the purest expression of your soul. They will always be the most compatible skill for you no matter what class or skills you may acquire as you grow up. Innate skill grows with you, becoming more perfectly aligned to you every day. Hence there is impossible for there to be an innate that would harm its own user."

While nodding in response, Rudra agreed to his explanation. This was similar to what the administrator god and Shiva had told him in different ways.

"Alright, I think I will join you guys," Rudra said, "I don't feel like I have anything to lose from joining."

"Excellent decision," Shyam said with a grin "Now, Gayathri if you may please show your talent."

The girl named Gayathri wet towards Mukti while giving a teasing wink to Rudra. She placed her hand on Mukti's head and a gentle Greenish-gold light emerged from her palm, slowly spreading over Mukti like liquid gel. Soon all of Mukti's injuries got healed and she started breathing in a relaxed manner in her sleep.

"The healing is done as promised," Shyam said as he got up "Let's get some rest for today, everyone went through a lot. From tomorrow we will begin our training to increased teamwork and also will help Rudra get his first-class."

'Well not exactly first,' Rudra thought as he made a few rooms for his new teammates, before gently picking up Mukti in a princess carry and placing her on a bed in one of the rooms. Making sure she was comfortably asleep, Rudra went to his own room and decided to get some rest as Shyam suggested.
