"His hand reaches for mine, and I hold it tight; his warm skin on my soft skin. I wish this night would never end."

...

As soon as I'm out of the car, Tara runs off inside, and Ayan stops me by tugging at my hand.

"Can you be ready by 8 tonight? Today's Sasha's birthday, and we all are throwing a surprise party for her at her home."

The reaction is instinctive: I hit him on the head with Tara's bag, which I was holding.

"You couldn't have told me that earlier? Probably a week earlier? I don't have any gift for her!" I exclaim, glaring daggers at him.

It's common sense to inform someone before the party is so that they can plan everything and buy gifts beforehand. But do guys understand this? NO.

"Sunflower, I didn't even remember. I got to know when Emily texted on the group! You can't blame me for not remembering birth dates, I have a poor memory!" He pouts adorably, and half of my anger melts away.
