We're still here

I woke up in what looks like a cell. My head is throbbing and my whole body aches that I can't even manage to stand. Where am I? I did my best to sit up and look around.

"Pr- Sheen! You ok?" Harris spoke beside me. But between us are metal bars that extends up to the ceiling.

"What happened to you?" He looks so... Hurt. He's full of cuts and some of his wounds are still fresh. He chuckled softly, I noticed that he's refraining himself to make extreme movements.

"You think I'm the only one looking like this?" I lifted my arms and immediately groaned. I dropped them down and looked downward instead. My neck feels so stiff, I tried to endured it. There are bruises everywhere on my arms and some parts of my pants are cut revealing red bloods and some are already dark. How long have we been here for my wounds to  look like this?

"What happened?" I asked him.

"Only thing I know for sure is we're going to get out of here alive." His eyes giving me assurance and asking me to trust him.

"How long do you think we've been here?"

"I don't know. This is the first time I woke up since I blacked out on the forest."

"Me too."

.

.

"I'm sorry." I broke the silence.

"First day as your guard and I already failed. Don't think you're sorry more than I am." He touched the bars between us.

"Can you break it?" He chuckled.

"No matter the situation, you never failed to make me laugh."

"What's funny?"

"Who in the world makes prison bars breakable with just physical strength? You think I'm hulk or something?"

"What's your special po-"

"I knew I was late for today." A man with a sword approached us with two guys with a whip. "How you two doin' there?"

"Who are you?" I asked him.

"Did you really expect me to answer that? Is this your first time in prison? The jailer is the one usually asking the prisoner, not the other way around." He lowered himself to my level.

"I don't usually go to jail, bastard!" I hissed at him and he snickered.

"Well... Me, I used to be a prisoner so I'm quite knowledgeable of how things works here. And you know what? I'm no normal prisoner. You wouldn't guess how many times I was on your place."

"No one asked." I almost spitted on him but I held back. He stand back up and went to Harris' side.

"Your friend looks more intelligent than you are. First thing to do is observe, right? You should teach your pet how to act like you. Tell her she doesn't look like a tiger when she's like that. A tiger stays silent and waits for the perfect timing to attack his prey."

"Thank you for your preach but who cares?" I tried to look intimidating.

"Look, I'm just trying to give you a good time before you went to sleep again. But I don't like how the two of you are acting so I'm gonna say 'goodnight' for now." He nodded at the two guys behind him. One went to me and the other to Harris. "I'm sorry kids but it's your fault you woke up early. We should have done this without your knowledge and while you're in your sweetest of dreams." He gave us wicked laugh.

"What do you want from us?" Harris finally spoke.

"Now you're talking. What we want from you? We want you two to tell us what you want from us."

"We want nothing."

"You think we're buying that?"

"Whether you believe it or not that's the truth. And no matter how many times you torture us, you'll never get different answer. We told you we were lost and ended up there!" I cut in on their conversation. I groaned when I was suddenly hit by a whip, Harris looking so worried.

"Lost? You were lost and you accidentally climbed off the border?"

"We never climbed anything." Harris told him.

"And you expect me to believe that's the truth? Then how did you end up there?"

"By the forest." I answered.

"So you're saying you traveled the forest from the light realm and ended up on our realm?"

"Great, you understood." I circled my eyes.

"You're telling me that you crossed the one and only forest which connects the light and dark realm?"

"I didn't knew that that was the only forest that was owned by half light and half dark." He sneered.

"Who sent you?"

"I thought we were coming to understanding just now?"

He motioned the two guys something and they started hitting us. "Wait! Don't hurt her. I'll take her blows." Harris spoke up.

"What is she to you? Why do you want to protect her? This girl your girlfriend?" He was suddenly beside me and pulling my hair up.

"I said just hurt me!" He yelled.

"Grof give him two times of what we discussed." Before I could say anything, my sight and mind became all black.

.

.

.

"Talie!"

"Zeno!" I came running to Zeno. I was so glad to see him, how did he find out I was here? But something's weird. I was running for quite some time but he is still out of reach. He looks so near but feels so far. I looked around, the prison cell was suddenly gone and the surrounding has become all black. "Why?" I faced Zeno. "Where are we?"

"Talie where are you?" He asked me.

"What do you mean? Harris! Where's Harris?" I searched for Harris in the dark.

"Talie tell me where you at!"

"I don't know. I don't know." I keep shaking my head. "Ze- Zeno! Zeno where are you!?" He was gone. I was left alone in this dark place. I ran around looking for him. I yelled while I cried.

"Sheen!" That's Harris! Harris where are you? Everything was just black then suddenly I felt arms on my shoulder. My eyes shot open and found Harris looking so worried on the other side of the bars.

"Harris!" I said while still catching my breath.

"What happened?"

I looked around. Sun shining brightly from the window. Another day have passed again. "We're still here."
