What am I gonna do with you?

The atmosphere in the room had changed, it had gone from a friendly environment to a heavy one and both guys felt it.

Jinn took a sip of his coffee, clearing his throat, "I guess I should say for starters, you've been doing your best to avoid me until now."

Kai stabbed the eggs on his plate multiple times without picking any up, he wanted to defend himself, but what could he say, it was quite obvious wasn't it?

"….."

"I just wanted you to know you don't need to be uncomfortable around me, we're both adults right?" Jinn added.

Kai quickly looked up at Jinn, his eyebrows slightly dimmed, "This is awkward for me, I can be quite the handful when I've had too much to drink. Either way, I apologize for anything I did to you that wasn't welcome."

"As I've said, nothing happened. All I did was take care of you." Said Jinn.

"How do you know nothing happened?" said Kai looking down at his plate.

"Because, I only had one drink that night. You're only human, you can't keep punishing yourself." Said Jinn.

Kai looked up to see Jinn's warm reassuring smile and his eyes began to water, so he quickly looked back down at his plate to hide the tears swelling in his eyes. Kai knew that he was developing a drinking problem, it had only gotten worse since he and his wife split. Things had been hard adjusting to being alone and he was most certainly numbing his sorrows away. Luckily for him, Jinn hadn't been just another guy looking to take advantage of this sad drunken mess.

Continuing to stare at his plate, Kai spoke, "I want to thank you for taking care of me, it's nice to know there are still good ones in the world, even though people like me may not deserve it."

Jinn's smile began to fade toward the end of Kai's sentence, "And what makes you think you don't deserve to be loved and respected? You mentioned something about not being good for anyone last weekend before you passed out and I couldn't disagree more."

Kai quickly looked up at Jinn, the tears in his eyes that he had held back for some time had finally escaped and were now streaming down his cheeks, "….."

Jinn's face was serious, and his piercing blue eyes stared at Kai intensely, making him feel like he was seeing right through him. Jinn opened his mouth to talk and then he paused, like he had changed his mind. "Well, as you've said, Tomo Kan isn't gonna finish itself." Said Jinn finishing his sentence with the same reassuring smile.

Kai wiped his eyes and allowed a half a smile to makes its way onto his face as he nodded. It was funny that he had been running away from Jinn all this time when the words that Jinn spoke was exactly what he needed.

After brunch, Jinn cleaned the kitchen while Kai went to take a brisk shower. After his shower, Kai toweled off and made his way back to his room. He dried his hair with a towel, threw his damp hair into a topknot, put on deodorant, a fitted black t-shirt and some black sweatpants. Black was a constant part of his wardrobe and he swore he'd stop wearing black when they made a darker color, a grown man, yet still a teenage misfit at heart.

When Kai made his way to the office, Jinn was already working hard on the drawling pad and had taken some of the papers Kai had drafted on. He sat down on the floor without saying anything and continued working on his final draft for the floor plan which he had finished half of early this morning.

Hours had gone by and the sun was at it's highest point in the sky. Kai sat up and stretched, his stomach was screaming for a break. "ugh.", he groaned softly as he held his stomach. Jinn turned around to see Kai and without hesitation he put the drawling pad down and stood up, stretching as well. "Let's call it an early night and get some dinner, we still have one more day so no need to break ourselves."

Kai put his pencil down and stood up, "yeah that sounds like a plan, my stomach is seriously protesting right now."

Jinn chuckled, "so is mine, what do you feel like tonight?" said Jinn as the two made their way to the kitchen.

Jinn opened the fridge, grabbing a strawberry and turned around to Kai who had made himself comfortable on one of the bar stools, "so, we could order out, or I could cook for you again."

Kai raised both eyebrows, "So you can cook more than breakfast?" he said.

Jinn smiled hard, revealing both dimples, "That I can, you name it and I'll make it."

Kai's eyes lit up, "I've had a serious craving for some spicy black bean noodles and cucumbers, but I can't seem to find a place that makes it like my Grandma use to."

Jinn began looking through his pantry checking for ingredients, "Is she no longer with us?" he asked.

"Unfortunately." Kai responded.

"Sorry to hear that, nobody cook's better than Grandma." Said Jinn pulling ingredients out of the pantry.

Kai chuckled, "that's true."

"You my friend are in luck; I've got everything I need to make your spicy black bean noodles." Jinn said turning around with a smile.

A pretty smile made it's way onto Kai's face, instantly causing Jinn to become weak in the knees. Putting most of his weight on the island, Jinn too smiled back at Kai, his dimples making an appearance.

"You know you have the cutest dimples." Said Kai.

Jinn picked up various ingredients, mixing them into a pot, "Thanks, I get that a lot." Said Jinn with his back to Kai, he was definitely blushing a bit.

Kai's phone buzzed in his pocket and he pulled it out, seeing that it was Saya. "Hey beautiful." Kai answered his phone enthusiastically.

Jinn who was seasoning the pork quickly glanced up at Kai who was talking on the phone. "Hey Beautiful?" he thought, hoping it was Kai's sister.

"I'm fine, just at a coworkers place finishing up a project due Monday, that pad you suggested is totally fried. My computer is a piece of shit."

Kai burst out into laughter and Jinn quickly looked up again, who was he talking to that had him giggling like so?

"Well thanks for checking in, love you too, bye." Said Kai hanging up his phone and placing it down on the counter.

"Girlfriend?" Jinn asked in a perfectly calm voice like he wasn't freaking out on the inside right now.

"Nah, just my best friend Saya, I haven't talked to her in a couple days, she was just checking in." said Kai.

A feeling of relief came over Jinn as he added noodles to the boiling water. "Oh okay, that's nice.

"Can I help? I feel bad that you're doing all the work", said Kai.

Jinn turned around to see Kai, his cute yet handsome face, wearing a hopeful expression and Jinn couldn't tell him he didn't need any help. "Sure I could use a hand."

Kai got up, walking around the island next to Jinn, "put me to work." He said with a smirk.

Jinn smirked as well, "You can sauté the veggies and pork, while I finish up the sauce and keep an eye on the noodles.

"On it." Said Kai turning on the burner, adding sesame oil and tossing in the raw pork and veggies Jinn had already cut up. The two cooked next to each other, occasionally glancing at what the other was doing with a smile when a big pop of oil suddenly splashed on Kai's left arm.

"Son of a bitch!" Kai complained.

Jinn quickly looked over and saw Kai holding his arm. Removing the pork and veggies from the burner, Jinn grabbed Kai's arm, turned the water on cool and put Kai's arm under it.

"mmmph!" Kai groaned, rolling his eyes up to the ceiling and closing them.

"You're gonna need to run it under water for a while to cool your skin down, does it still hurt a lot?" said Jinn worried.

"It's not that bad, wouldn't be my first battle scar." Said Kai chuckling. Jinn let a smirk onto his face,

"Keep it under the water, I'll be right back." Said Jinn as he raced into his bedroom, grabbing burn ointment and a large band aid. He raced back into the kitchen to see Kai had taken his arm from under the water and was cautiously drying his burnt arm.

"Hey let me see." Said Jinn power walking over to Kai, grabbing his arm. He dried it some more and Kai pulled his arm away. "It's really not that bad."

"Better to be safe then sorry right?" said Jinn with that same reassuring smile, holding out his hand so that Kai would give his arm back. Kai smiled nervously, nodding and Jinn gently took his arm, and began applying the ointment.

Kai watched Jinn gently applying the ointment to his arm, he was so caring. Kai had never seen this side of him, his piercing blue eyes focused on Kai's arm and his one dimple showing because Jinn was biting one side of his lower lip. Kai allowed a smirk to creep onto his face, "Jinn certainly was lovely to look at." he thought.

Jinn finished putting on the ointment, opened the large band aid and placed it on Kai's arm. "There, good as ne…." Jinn suddenly stopped talking as he noticed the way Kai was staring at him. The two of them stared at each other for a moment when the sauce began to boil over.

"Oh no! The sauce!" Kai suddenly maneuvered around Jinn and turned the fire off.

Jinn sighed internally and smiled, "Why don't you go relax, I'll finish dinner." Kai turned around sort of pouting, nodded his head and left the kitchen. Jinn watched him walk away as Kai fiddled with the band aid on his arm. It wasn't that Jinn didn't want his company; he just didn't want anymore accidents.

About a half hour had passed and Kai was sitting in the dining room browsing on the web when Jinn came in holding two bowls. He placed one in front of Kai and his eyes lit up, pork black bean noodles with cucumber was his comfort food. Jinn placed his bowl down on the table and sat down. He watched Kai carefully as he picked up his chopsticks, mixed his noodles and stuffed a huge bite into his mouth, slurping up the extra noodles that didn't make it into his chopsticks the first time. Kai's eyes closed as the rich flavor of the sauce, perfectly cooked noodle and crunchy cucumber danced on his tongue.

"Mmm." Kai moaned as he chewed, his eyes still closed.

"Taste anything like you remember?" said Jinn.

Kai opened his eyes, smiling while nodding his head over and over. A smirk appeared onto Jinn's face, satisfied with Kai's reaction, he began to eat as well.

After dinner, Kai took both bowls ignoring Jinn's "he was a guest." rule. Jinn smiled and allowed it. "Since the night is young, what shall we do?" Jinn asked.

Kai turned around as he was washing dishes to see Jinn who had came into the kitchen and was leaning on the island. "Hmm, what do you have in mind?" As Jinn was about to answer Kai's phone rang, he grabbed a dish towel, pulled his phone out of his pocket, answering without looking to see who it was.

"Hello?"

"You answered." Said the person on the other line.

Kai froze, it was Dana, why did she insist on calling him when she left him? Why did she want to complicate things more than they already were.

"Hi.", Kai said with little enthusiasm in his voice.

"I was wondering if I could see you tomorrow for lunch?"

Kai hesitated for a moment, before answering, "what for?" he said somewhat rudely.

Dana was quiet for a minute, and then she spoke, "I'm still your wife, aren't I?"

Kai sighed heavily, "Please don't call me, unless it's important." He said hanging up the phone, tossing it on the counter and putting his head in his hands.

Jinn noticed the irritation in Kai's voice. "Is everything okay?"

Kai brought the corners of his mouth tight, swallowed hard, fixed his face and turned around like everything was fine. "Yeah, just the wrong number.", he said quickly turning around to finish the dishes he was washing.

The room was silent for a minute, Jinn knew that something had happened, but he didn't want to pry, "So you want to watch a movie? I have a huge selection to choose from." Kai finished washing the last spoon placing everything in the dish rack and turned around to Jinn who was now sitting on a stool at the island.

"I think I'm gonna go out to the convenient store." Said Kai

"Great, I'll grab my shoes." Said Jinn getting up, but Kai stopped him.

"If you don't mind, I'd rather be alone right now." Said Kai smiling nervously.

Jinn stopped, turning around to Kai, he could see Kai was doing his best to keep whatever was bothering him inside and what better way to clear your mind than going to get a drink.

"I won't pretend to sit here and act like I don't know what it is that you're going to get." said Jinn his face serious now.

Kai quickly looked up at Jinn, his eyes widening for a second and then returning to normal. "Well it's not really any of your business is it?" Kai said with a little irritation in his voice.

"Actually, it is, you have a project to finish and if you're too hungover to finish it, that makes my department look bad. I said I'd help you, but it's you who has to finish it." Said Jinn, the two of them glaring at each other now.

"Don't worry, I'll be out of your hair tomorrow and you won't have to help me anymore. I'll make sure to keep my distance, like I've been doing." Said Kai power walking past Jinn, but Jinn suddenly stood up, grabbing Kai's arm. Kai pulled his arm away, but Jinn held on.

"Don't be that way, I said that not to hurt you, but to make you aware. Last weekend wasn't the first night I saw you at that bar." Jinn said.

Kai's eyes grew wide, he was angry, embarrassed, and ready to cry all at the same time. With one last hard yank, Kai had freed his arm of Jinn's grip. "okay and? We're both adults, aren't we? I don't need a babysitter!" Kai blurted out.

Jinn exhaled heavily, grabbed Kai's arm and forcibly sat him down at the bar stool. He then reached in the cabinet, grabbing two glasses, bent down under the island, pulling out a bottle of wine. Kai's face turned from an angry one to a more surprised look, what the hell was Jinn doing?

"If you want to drink, you can drink safely with me." Jinn said with a stern look on his face.

Kai squinted at Jinn, turned his head away, reaching for a glass and pouring himself some wine. "Always looking for a fight, you know that?" said Jinn, a smirk now on his face and an eyebrow raised.

Kai rolled his eyes, "I am not." He said sourly sipping his wine.

An hour had passed and the two had made their way to the living room with the bottle of wine that was now almost empty, Kai had drunk most of it.

Jinn sipped his wine as he stared at Kai, his handsome yet baby face somewhat pouting and his cheeks a little rosy. "I was adopted, an only child, but my parents both hated me when I was a kid, life was pretty shitty, you know?" Kai rambled on.

"Mmmh." Jinn listened attentively.

Wh..why did you end up at my job? I thought I was going to n..nnever, gonna see that cute face again." A more than tipsy Kai stumbled over his words. "You really are prince charming, always showing up to save everyone."

Jinn let a smile overtake his face, "not everyone, just you."

Kai looked over at Jinn, a surprised look on his face, "Don…don't say things like that, it'll make me think that you actually like me." Said Kai, his eyes wandering up toward the ceiling and back at Jinn.

"What if I did actually like you?" Jinn asked.

Kai looked at Jinn intensely before a smile crept onto his face and he busted out into laughter. "No!" Kai said sipping his drink again.

Jinn chuckled, "No?"

"No..jus..nnooo." Kai said, again stumbling over his words.

"What do you mean no? Am I not allowed to like you?" Jinn asked.

"No! You shouldn't! It doesn't ever work out for people who like...like me. I'm a mess." Said Kai about to take another sip of his wine when Jinn grabbed his hand. "I think you've had enough, you damn near finished the bottle."

Kai tried to yank his hand away, but ended up spilling the wine in his glass on the floor.

"Loooooook what you did! Leave me alone! Let me drink!" he whined to Jinn.

Jinn took the glass out of Kai's hand. "Why do you always want to drink so much, who hurt you?" Jinn asked, knowing that Kai would answer, he was pretty honest when he drank.

"Nobody hur..hurt me. I hurt Dana. She left me for some jerk, I don't know why I married her, I love…loved her, but I not like she wanted me to."

"What do you mean?" Jinn asked, his eyebrows dimmed now.

"She knew…"

"Knew what?"

"That I like...like men." Kai slurred as he sighed and fell back, slouching onto the couch.

Jinn's eyebrows eased up and his face softened, Kai was struggling, no wonder he was drinking so much.

"Alright Kai." Said Jinn as he stood up, grabbing Kai's arm, helping him stand.

"Where are we going?" said Kai as he stumbled over his pigeon-toed feet.

"I'm putting you to bed." Said Jinn as he helped Kai walk.

"Oh? Are you gonna come? Are we...gonna fuck?" Kai slurred looking up at Jinn with a smirk.

Jinn smirked, "Not while you're like this."

"So you would?" Kai asked, a huge smile making it's way onto his face as he hiccupped.

Jinn's mouth went from a smirk to a smile as he tried to hold back his laughter. Jinn opened Kai's guestroom and they stumbled making their way to the bed.

Jinn helped Kai sit down, "Let me get you a bottle of water." he said turning around to leave, but before he knew it, he was pulled down on the bed beside Kai.

"I'm not really that drunk." Kai said coquettishly, running his hand up Jinn's thigh

Jinn gently moved Kai's hand as his face began to flush, and Kai pouted, "Fine...then." Kai whined.

"I'm gonna get you some water." Said Jinn power walking into the kitchen and when he came back Kai was laying down with his eyes closed. Jinn sighed, "Of course you'd be sleepy." he said as he placed the water bottle on the nightstand and sat down on the bed. Jinn pulled the cover over Kai and was about to get up when Kai suddenly reached out, grabbing his wrist.

"Can…you…stay…. with me please?" Kai asked, his eyes still closed.

Jinn exhaled heavily, climbing into bed, and Kai instantly moved over snuggling under him. Surprised at first, Jinn flinched then he relaxed his body, putting his arm around Kai who was now silently sleeping. "What am I gonna do with you.", he thought.
