Feelings, The Old and the New

Kai felt warm breath on his face and an arm holding him tight. He opened his eyes and to his surprise, there lay Jinn. Kai froze for a minute, not only because he was nervously wondering why the heck Jinn was in his bed, but because he didn't want to wake him. "Ugh, what did I do last night?" he thought. Kai held his breath, gently wiggling from under Jinn's arm, but Jinn only held onto him tighter. Kai began to breath again softly, turning his head so his exhale wouldn't come out onto Jinn's face. Again, he began to wiggle from under Jinn's arm, but Jinn held onto him.

"Stay." Said Jinn.

Kai suddenly looked up at Jinn whose eyes were still closed, "huh?" he said softly, was he still asleep?

Kai moved again and Jinn's arm grabbed him tighter, Kai looked back up at Jinn and his eyes were open, "I said stay." Jinn spoke, his piercing blue eyes staring directly at Kai.

Kai stopped moving, somewhat sinking back into the pillow, "You know this is the guestroom, right?" he said, but Jinn didn't respond, as he had closed his eyes again.

Kai pouted as he laid still, he was comfortable in Jinn's arms, but everything in him was screaming for him to get up, he was Kai's manager for goodness sake. "Why are you in my bed?" Kai asked softly.

"Because you asked me to be." Jinn answered, his eyes still closed. A pained looked came across Kai's face and his eyebrow twitched, "I really have to stop drinking." he thought.

"You are quite clingy when you're drunk, it's kinda cute. Want to continue where we left off last night?" Said Jinn.

"What did he mean by that?" Kai thought, his face flushing red with embarrassment as he struggled to get up, Jinn chuckled, letting him go and sat up.

"I'm gonna go shower." I hope you'll be gone when I get back. Said Kai as he power walked out of the room. Jinn smiled, his dimples making an appearance.

Kai had taken his time showering and he was now getting dressed. Why on earth did he keep waking up in the same room with this man? "Today would be the last day of this." He thought. After Kai finished getting dressed, he walked toward the kitchen and noticed spilled wine on the floor. Kai reached under the kitchen sink grabbing a sponge and cleaning spray. He sprayed the carpet and cleaned the messy spot, he was pretty sure he had most likely been the one to spill the wine, so it would be better if he were the one to clean it up. He then grabbed the almost empty bottle of wine, put it in the fridge and cleaned the glasses.

Deciding he didn't care for breakfast this morning; Kai made his way to the office. As he walked down the hall, he heard the shower water running, "please stay in there a little longer, I'm not ready to face you just yet." Kai said softly.

After Jinn had showered, he made his way toward the living room to clean up but noticed it had already been taken care of. Seeing that Kai wasn't around he made his way to the office. Jinn walked into the doorway and saw Kai working hard, he was biting his bottom lip and squinting his eyes as he concentrated. Jinn smiled, "Assuming you don't feel like breakfast this morning?" said Jinn as he finally walked into the room.

Startled by Jinn's sudden appearance, Kai jumped. "eh..I better get this done." he said nervously and continued working.

"We didn't sleep that late, it's only half past eleven, take a ride with me to get breakfast?" said Jinn.

"We need to hurry and finish this; I feel like I've already worn out my welcome."

Jinn raised an eyebrow, placed himself down on the floor on the opposite side of the table Kai was sitting at and grabbed the pencil out of his hand.

"Hey!" Kai said surprised.

Jinn stared at Kai intensely before speaking, "Have I given you the impression that you need to hurry up and leave?"

Kai looked away from Jinn, staring at the table. "You haven't but.."

"But what?" said Jinn interrupting Kai.

Kai quickly looked up at Jinn, his eyebrows sort of dimmed, "I figured after last night I…."

"Believe me, I wasn't anywhere I didn't want to be last night or last weekend for that matter." Said Jinn interrupting Kai again.

Kai's dimmed eyebrows rose, his mouth parted and his face began to blush. "...…"

"We'll work on Tomo Kan's building until it's finished and afterwards let me take you out to dinner. I've been trying to be as subtle as I can, but you haven't appreciated my efforts."

Kai raised an eyebrow, "We met because I drank too much and now you're my higher up."

"True, but since we can't seem to get away from each other, humor me." Said Jinn, a big smile on his face and his dimples present like always.

Kai smiled, not looking away this time, "I feel like I should be taking you out to dinner after all your hard work this weekend."

Jinn's smile turned into a smirk, "I'm fine with that as well."

"Well, if we're gonna go anywhere, you're gonna have to give me my pencil back so I can get done.", Kai said leaning over the table close to Jinn, close enough to plant a kiss if he wanted. Kai stared him deep into the eye, grabbing the pencil out of Jinn's hand and smirked as well. Jinn's smirk disappeared and his body froze, Kai certainly knew how to catch him off guard.

"Well…I'll leave you to it then." Jinn said standing up quickly and walking over to his computer desk. Kai's smirk turned to a smile when he noticed how Jinn's calm demeanor had changed.

Hours had passed and the two had been working hard, Kai had finished all the layouts and Jinn was on his last few inputs onto the drawling pad. Kai stood up, walking over and towering over Jinn as he drew. "Wow, that looks pretty damn good." He said with a smile.

Not realizing Kai was behind him Jinn quickly turned around to see Kai's beautiful smile, and his face flushed pink. Jinn quickly turned back around, "Yes, that sure is something." he answered, not exactly responding to what Kai had said.

Kai silently watched as Jinn finished Tomo Kan's building and Jinn was amazing. Usually Kai wanted everything to be done by his own hand, but Jinn knew exactly how-to bring Kai's vision to life.

"There, Tomo Kan is all finished." Said Jinn turning around with a smile, handing Kai the drawling pad. Kai used his finger to switch the angles of the building layout, "Wow, it came out so good! This is perfect!"

"We make a pretty good team don't you think?" said Jinn.

Kai stopped going through the drawling pad and smiled at Jinn who was already smiling at him. "So it seems, now think of where you want to go eat while I go gather my things." Said Kai turning around to leave.

Kai had gathered all his things, making his way toward the living room where Jinn was already waiting. "I'm ready." Said Kai. Jinn nodded and the two of them made their way out of Jinn's apartment, to the elevators. As they rode Kai noticed a woman on the elevator was staring at Jinn, she was short, thin, wore glasses, cute and timid looking. Kai looked up at Jinn who was standing on the side of him, Kai was sure that Jinn had felt the woman staring at him, but he paid her no mind whatsoever.

When the elevator stopped, everyone got off and Kai and Jinn made there way to their cars, "Hey, text me the address of the place you picked, I'm gonna stop by my place first, I don't trust keeping this stuff in my car." Said Kai unlocking his door.

"Sure, that's no problem, I'll see you soon." Said Jinn with a smile, getting into his car.

The two went their separate ways and Kai was on his way home. He had driven for about twenty minutes when he arrived. Kai grabbed his stuff out of the passenger seat, including Jinn's drawling pad, locked his car door and made his way to his apartment. Kai walked up the steps to his door and standing there was Dana. Kai froze for a minute, he wanted to run back down the stairs, but his body couldn't move for some reason. Dana turned around, noticing someone had come up behind her and a smile came across her face. "Hi Kai." She said, her voice soft and sweet like Kai remembered.

"What are you doing here?" Kai said nonchalantly walking past Dana and putting the key in his door.

"You haven't been answering my calls and I just wanted to see you. Could I come in?" Dana asked.

Kai turned around to see Dana's face, she was pouting cutely like she always did, how could he refuse her? "Fine, but it's gonna have to be quick, I have somewhere to be." Kai said opening his door. The two went in and Kai put his things down and stood in the living room while Dana looked around, seeming as though she was reminiscing.

"What is it that you want Dana?" Kai asked, hoping she wasn't going to stay long.

Dana turned around, "You've gotten thinner, you haven't been eating well have you?" she said walking over to Kai and putting her hand up to touch his face, but Kai stopped her, gently grabbing her hand. "I've been eating enough." He said softly.

Dana removed her hand and smiled, although it seemed sad, "Maybe I can stop by from time to time to bring you some food, I always make too much Kimchi and I know you've always liked it."

Kai sighed, "you don't have to do that. I'm fine taking care of myself."

Dana's eyes began to water, the tears streaming down her face. "I see that you're really doing fine without me, I really didn't mean anything to you, did I?"

"You know that's not true." Kai said raising his voice a bit.

"Do I? You don't even care that I left!" Dana yelled.

"You left me! What the hell am I supposed to do when you wasted no time finding somebody else?" Kai shouted back. Dana's hand suddenly flew, slapping Kai in the face, leaving behind an intense sting.

"I came here to see if you had any love for me left, but I see that you don't so, here!" Dana yelled, as she pulled a golden envelope out of her bag, roughly pushing it against Kai's chest.

Dana had slapped Kai's face to the side, he turned his head back and stared at the floor, his body had shifted back a bit and he grabbed the envelope Dana had roughly placed on his chest. Saying nothing, Kai intended not to provoke Dana any further.

"Sign that and you'll be free of me!" Dana cried as tears rolled down her face.

Kai looked at Dana, realizing what it was that she had just handed him, and his eyes began to water. "...."

"I may have left you, but I never wanted to. I love you Kai and I always will. Goodbye." Dana said softly, her voice shaky as she cried. Dana turned around to leave and opened the door. The tears that had swelled in Kai's eyes began to stream down his face, a part of him wanted to stop her, but why would he? He loved her, but it was never going to be enough.

*****

"Are you ready to order yet sir?" a waitress asked, she had asked Jinn about three times now as he had been sitting there for a while by himself with only a glass of wine.

"Not yet, my company should be here soon." Jinn said with a smile on his face. The waitress nodded and walked away, and as she did Jinn's smile faded. Jinn looked at the time on his phone and began to wonder where Kai was. He had been waiting for almost an hour and fifteen minutes and was beginning to wonder if Kai had stood him up. Shaking that thought from his mind, Jinn picked up his phone and dialed Kai's number, but there was no answer. Jinn tossed his phone on the table beside him, sighing heavily. "Check please." he yelled to the waiter.
