Honey, I'm home!

Today was the day BamBam would finally be getting home after his long 5 week visit in the hospital. If you ask him he would say it wasn't very fun but it was memorable.

Right now the whole family is walking into their house the first time with BamBam after a few weeks without him. Everyone is so happy and excited to finally have their boy home but something is bothering him. Although he is happy to see his family lull all over him, his mind is somewhere else.

Those few weeks at the hospital was quiet bothering to him, but then some moments were sad or happy and memorable.

*week 1*

BamBam is sitting in his hospital bed getting his scanning of his shoulder and collarbone progression. He's kinda tired because he just got his blood taken and he flipped out the entire time. At least they got some blood.

A nurse came in with a plate of cookies and she said because he's being so good he can have to whole thing. She shows him while he's laying in the bed, he looks up at her and pushes the plate away.

"Hey baby, why don't we go to the cafeteria so we can have a little lunch date, you know what i'm saying". He says and wiggles his eyebrows, the nurse looks at him like he's done the worst thing in the world.

"I-I'm not a-allowed to do that" she stutters and looks away putting the cookies down. BamBam is really having some fun with this, after a while of not doing anything at all he's enjoying this.

"Come on, we can get those jello cups you love" he says and sits back smoothly in his bed. The nurse doesn't even look at him, but he can see she's nervous. What has she never had a 7 year old flirt with her before.

I d-don't even l-like Jello-cups" she says and continues what she's doing with the machines. She finally turns to him after probably not checking his blood and stuff. She looks at him with a warning face and BamBam takes his chance.

"What am i too young for you, or am i too hot" he tries to do a little body roll but fails when he hurts his arm in the process. Alright this isn't fun anymore and thinks and tells the nurse to leave. The he calls her a peasant when she's gone but he knows she can hear him. "Man, this is gonna be boring" he tells his kittens and they look at him with curious eyes. At least he has them.

*week 2*

It's been two weeks already but to BamBam it feel like it's been two months. He has 3 more weeks in this nasty place and he really can't take it now. He doesn't have much fun with the nurses anymore because their too awkward. He still has his kittens but he can't even move to take care of them.

One day while he's staring at his little babies play around on the floor by themselves. There's a sound at the door and BamBam thinks it's a nurse so he doesn't turn to look. When he doesn't hear his usual greeting that's when he moves and sees that it's not a nurse or a doctor. It's a random man, he looks nice and he's dressed in a dapper suit but no too fancy. He turns from facing the door after giving up with trying to shut it. Once he sees BamBam he looks panicked, he's obviously in the wrong room.

"I'm sorry, i didn't know anyone was in here" he explains and opens the door to leave but for some reason BamBam stops him. The man looks twisty with how much times he's turned in the past minute. He does again and looks at BamBam with a questioning look.

*pat pat*

"No, stay" BamBam looks at the dude with a serious face. He doesn't look old but he doesn't look young either. Without further hesitation after seeing BamBam's face he takes a seat in a chair by the bed. He waits a few seconds looking very awkward, thumbing with the keys he's holding in his hands. BamBam starts a conversation, asking why he was here. The man says he's here for treatment because he has a lump in his back.

BamBam doesn't really know what that means but he continues their talk anyway. Understanding that he's sick BamBam looks at him with sympathy. "I'm sick too" he says and points to his shoulder, the guy chuckles and they talk some more.

After a while the man gets up and says he has to go or he'll be late. He leaves when they say their goodbyes and BamBam can only notice the bright smile on his face when he does so. Before he came in he was down and frowning. BamBam feels good about making someones day and he goes to sleep happy that night.

*week 3*

Already 3 weeks in and BamBam is having the time of his life. This random stranger he met last week has been coming in and visiting him every other day. He feels less lonely, like there's something to cover up the dark pit in his heart. His family comes by like every day because they know BamBam won't survive. He is thankful for them but having a new visitor has sparked in BamBam's mind, that he has a new friend.

When ever he comes in he's been looking worse since the last time. BamBam would be lying if he said he wasn't worried. When they talk and play some board games, the man looks happier and smiles more before he leaves.

One day he asks BamBam while their playing mini pool, how long he's gonna stay in the hospital. "Eh like 2 more weeks" he says and makes a shot with his mini pool stick and fails. He never really knew how the man was feeling when his face went down after he had said this. They put up the game after a few more minutes and talked once more before the guy had to leave.

When he's at the door, ready to leave he turns and tells BamBam he's a good kid and he's been helping him out a lot. Being 7 years old in this situation isn't helping him at all though, because he doesn't understand what that's supposed to mean. He brushes it off and plays with the kittens for the rest of the day. Yet again having a good night sleep.

*week 4*

It's been a few days and the man BamBam wishes to see everyday hasn't been in at all. He was supposed to be here yesterday and two days before that, like he squealed but he wasn't. Honestly it's hard to sit in a hospital bed everyday for days and wait for someone to come see you.

BamBam told himself it was nothing and that guy probably only came by because he could, he was probably busy. Although these thoughts blocked out the bad ones it was a matter of time before they came back. Instead of waiting anymore, BamBam grabbed the remote to his crappy hospital TV and turned it on. Going to the news channel, figuring he has nothing better to do so why not.

Just when he's starting to get into it, the door opens unexpectedly. It's confusing because BamBam hasn't had tests in a while and if he did he would be told about it. It wasn't the nurses, something he thought that day that man came in. It was him, and BamBam couldn't help but be excited.

They talked and the question up of why he hasn't been there and the man said he couldn't tell him because he was just a kid. This was strange though because this man has been coming in and telling this little kid about his problems. So why not now when he disappointed said kid for not coming in a few days.

BamBam almost got mad at him but then he remembered that this guy was in no way capable for him to be mad at. Instead he got out of his hospital bed and reached under to pull out a small purple box. Inside had been a present his brother Yugyeom gave him, it was a rat turd. BamBam had long ago through that thing out the window for the birds and put in a few drawings and a newly made friendship bracelet.

He gave it to the man and when he opened it, it was worth all the wait to see the look on his face. BamBam remembered him almost crying and thanking him for something so little. He hugged BamBam and told him this was the nicest thing anyone's ever done for him.

He left that day with a yellow friendship bracelet on his left wrist. He didn't turn back to say goodbye when he opened the door to leave, he was just gone.

*week 5*

BamBam wasn't surprised when that man never came back to visit again, but he was sad. Today he was getting out of this gross place and going home with his family.

He's sitting in front of the window, looking out at the rain and foggy clouds all around. He has his box of kittens hugged close to his chest as he feels the need to cry. He takes a look at the friendship bracelet on his left wrist and the feeling only worsens. He distracts himself by putting his hand into the box and letting the kittens play with it as they like.

It's not long before the door opens and the sounds of his excited siblings makes him feel as if he's already home. Mark and Jackson pull them all in for a group hug, making sure not to squish BamBam before taking a family picture.

*snap*

*present time*

BamBam is taken out of daze when he feels the hand of his mother on his face and his voice asking him a question.

"Huh?" he asks back

"I asked if you met any new people at the hospital" he seemed so happy to wait for his answer.

Their all in the house now and everyone's waiting for his answer instead of just his mom. He pulls his sleeve over the bracelet that's slightly showing on his wrist.

"No" he says matter-of-fact, shaking his head and walking to his room slowly with his box of kittens. He knows no one will bother him for a bit.
