Chapter 15:Entering The Wolves’ Den

We followed the Maids out into the Hallway and they lead us to the Elevator, where my Two Guards waited for us.

Me and Charles entered the Elevator and we watched as the Elevator closed and descended down to the Main Room, where the guests were.

Once the Elevator opened, I saw that were

there were quite a bit of guests too, it wasn't just a gathering. It was almost like a Ball.

I could feel everyone's eyes on me and this made my breath tighten. I looked over to Charles and he must of saw I was struggling, because he gave me a soft smile and a thumbs up, mouthing something like "You got this Coquelicot."

He winked and I turned back to the staring people with a gulp. I looked up to them and waved shyly. Soon after this arose an applause, this signaled the guards to walk me and Charles down to my parents.

The People staring hard at us as they did so. This is why I sometimes refer to them as Wolves. Because Wolves watch, as do any Predator. Wolves look for their Prey's Weakness and use that against them, as I assume these people were trying to do.

When it comes to Riches, you can make a lot of Allies but with Allies comes Enemies. They always say keep you Friends close but your Enemies the closest and my family tends to meet that description.

It seems all the people invited here are people my parents want to keep a close watch on, some a closer watch. Watching to see what they can use them for, so we can have personal gain.

Me and Charles reached my parents at the Center of all the Wolves. My Mother smiled still wearing that Back Veil of hers. My Father stood next to her also with a smile on his face until, he saw me, that's when his smile turned almost distorted.

The Security Guards placed Charles in between my parents and me on the other side of my Father. My Mother and Father putting a hand on either side of Charles' shoulder.

Judging by his reaction, he was surprised at this but still continued to smile while giving a slight wave.

This had me at ease since Charles was fine with it but, that ease soon faded away when my father placed his hand on my shoulder.

He looked down to me and tilted his head with a low whisper saying, "Make Sure you be a Good Girl Victoria. Best Behavior."

He tilted his head back up looking toward my mother and I shuttered a bit.

I didn't know what would happen if I didn't follow the rules this time and since my Father is back. Who knows what my punishment would be, if I did so.
