Chapter 36:The Evaluation pt.1

My mother dotted her rich looking eyes at me and Charles with curiosity as I noticed her veil was back on her head. It covered her face, but only slightly, her full-makeup still could be seen and her vicious look was prominent.

She always put her veil back on after the Gatherings. When she didn't audience, she did what she wanted and said what she wanted to say. Which is what she is going to do now. I bit my lip preparing for it, smearing some lipstick on my white teeth as I did so.

She said the following, "Victoria, Charles, today was quite scene you two put up there. It was almost going to cause scandal but luckily Charles save the day with Wine Promotion. Not only raising our wine sales by 5% but also earning himself a higher paid promotion. Didn't think it would be so early but Charles has proved his excellency in many ways I thank you for that Mr.Dickson."

Charles nodded responding with, "Thank you Lady.Acres I am honored to hear you say that." My mother clasped her hands together with wide smiling saying, "As well as I do, I love promoting hardwork. So keep at it and your check will definitely raise Mr.Dickson."

She dropped her smile and turned to me with a glare and slight scowl. "As for you Victoria, my dearest only daughter you had quite the disappearance today. Where did you go to I might ask? Please be honest with me, you know you can talk to me." The last sentence she said came out sympathetic but I know it was fake. She was only trying to make me get myself in trouble, so she could punish me again.

I took a deep breath, "I apologize Mother I had to take several trips to compose myself, being around lots of people gives me nervousness sometimes. It makes me almost uncomfortable do you understand?" I looked up to her with a fake look of empathy when she was adjusting her top on her tight fitted, slender dress. "Oh no I understand darling, sorry about the slight distraction. My seamstress did it a little to tight on the breast area."

She looked to her male seamstress with a wink and he stood neutral gazing at her. She turned her eyes back to me and rolled them with another smile, "Well why I get that social anxiety thing that you are talking about I also think you should understand who you are. You are my daughter therefore the Heiress of The Acres family and inheritor of the fortune. You can't let any social anxiety stop you from your duties of performing and putting on a smile. You must be perfection at all times or you will fail as an Heir and if you do I will have someone to replace you."

My stomach was turning inside ad she spoke these words and I could even tell she was making Charles a bit intimidated. She always had a way of pretending to be nice but ending it with Micro-aggression at the end of her points. It was what she always did.
