(This chapter is about Alexander at the age of 15. Just to clear any confusion.)
The wind pushed my hair away from my helmet, causing it to float slightly behind me as I soared down the street.
I ignored the chasing cars behind me and continued my task at hand, I had been given a mission that I had to complete.
Lila, my partner on this task, was soaring next to me-screaming with joy into the winds and choosing to enjoy the moment of freedom that gained from this experience.
...she could also be considered as my best friend, as we have had many missions together that we had completed all successfully.
"Loop!" She shouts and I nod before we finish one of our structures, beginning to cause our bikes to rapidly dance around each other and to split up randomly.
She clicks a button on her watch and I know she disabled all of the cameras in the city.
"Shoot your shot ranger" she winks over to me and I smirk before standing up on the moving bike and quickly jumping into her bike, that had moved closer to me.
My old bike hits a store and a fire almost immediately lights, giving them around a minute or two until the engine explodes.
I grab my gun from my side pocket of the leather jacket I had on, clocking it in the direction ahead and shooting car wheels, causing a traffic jam that stops cars from following us behind.
Lila lets out a howl of laughter before we both settle and move towards the warehouse.
"Kailey said she has a surprise for me later, something to do with a dinner, she's always the romantic on our dates" Lila starts up a conversation as we pull up to the warehouse.
"As cute as that is, we have a code and a mission-both of which we should follow" I say sternly as I rip of my helmet and throw it to the ground carelessly.
"Whatever" she snorts and goes to walk off, before I grab her arm and pull her back.
"You're going to get yourself killed, the weak is killed and if you have a loved one you become weak" I remark angrily.
"It's good to know your father hasn't stripped you of all emotions" Lila smiles, "and it's good to know that you care, now careful I might actually think that you care about my safety"
"We wouldn't want that" I roll my eyes before marching into the warehouse to go over the shipments for this month, we had a baby's duty today.
"All good here" the main worker says sternly as he marches over to me.
"606 completed?" I ask while holding out my notepad.
"Yes" he hisses.
"And did you contact Canada about the missing supplies from last week?" I ask him with a slight smirk, knowing full well he hasn't.
"Erm, well you see...."
Lila begins to tut from the wall, where she's leaning on the wall while crossing her arms over, she begins to shake her head with a slight grin.
"Hm, I'd consider that a weakness, wouldn't you Lila?" I ask with a slight smirk dancing on my lips.
"Definitely" Lila smirks.
"Lets have some fun" I grin at the guy.
================================
The guy lets out another scream as I slice his leg further, with its fifth slice.
"...and that was for being weak" I smirk and hand the knife over to Lila to hold.
The poor man had been tied to a chair for the past half hour, being tortured to the very brim for being a sign of weakness to our gang.
"Did you know what's going to happen?" I ask him and he whimpers, I grip his face with my hand, "DO you know what's going to happen?"
His lips quivers and he stutters, trying to get out a single word.
"No need to talk love, we know you can't" Lila says behind me and holds up a bucket, "considering we have your tongue right here..."
I hum before grabbing my gun and take a couple steps away, "let's play a game, every time you guess the number that I'm thinking-you don't get shot"
"But if you guess wrong...." Lila smirks slightly while keeping a heady eye on the whole situation.
"You get shot in a different place every time.." I trail along, "go ahead"
It was a mind trick, I wasn't actually going to think if a number or let him off-he deserves this, as my father says anyway.
He try's to speak but blood drips out of his mouth due to Lila's terrible cutting skills.
"Oh dear..." Lila sighs as I aim my gun and shoot his right leg, he whispers and trashes around in pain and I shoot his arm next.
"Kill him off" Lila sighs to me, "he is no use to us"
"No..." I trail off, "let's just leave him here and leave his tongue on his family's doorstep"
"I like your thinking!" Lila cheers before we set off towards the bike.
================================
(Switch to one of those times that Alexander told Marie about her past when Alexander was 19)
"And what happened after?" Marie asks me.
"My father killed Lila in front of me because he found out she was in love, and left kailey in sorrow forever" I say sadly while holding her hands tightly, "I can still see her body dripping and it still haunts me to this very day"
================================
"I told you, love is weakness and so is friendship" my father states before walking away, taking Bailey with him-to do lord knows what.
Almost instantly I hold Lila in my arms and begin to cry, "hold on please, please hold on"
She gives no reply but her cold, newly turned grey eyes-that leave nothing but heart break.
I wipe some of the blood off of her face with my sleeve and shut her eyes so that she's in more peace than what she got for a death.
I look around at all the blood gathered around her dead corpse and let out a scream of pain, realising all the lies that my father had told me and how love isn't my weakness-it's my loyalty.
