THE DATE

First of all they reached a restaurant. Amy just stared at the place with mouth hanging open. Archie chuckled at her reaction then he put his hand around her waist and pulled her closer. She recovered from her daze and looked at Archie who was smiling widely at her. She blushed and looked down at her feet. A waitress reached them. Archie said curtly,"We have a private table booked under the name of Archie Angelo." Her eyes widened in surprise and she said,"O-Oh yes sir! Please follow me."

They were taken in a room which only had one table and it was quite luxurious. Amy was feeling so out of the place. Seeing her nervousness, Archie made his grip tighter around her and Amy was thankful for that. Archie pulled a chair out for her to sit and then sat in front of her. After placing their orders Amy said,"Actually this was not quite what I was expecting. Now I am feeling greatful that Em pestered me to get ready like this." Archie smiled and said,"Em knows me. She has always been like a sister to me which I never had. We have known each other since we were in diapers maybe."

They both laughed and Archie asked,"You like it though! Don't you?" Amy looked around and said,"Its not really my thing but I guess it's nice." Archie sighed in relief and said,"I am getting a feeling that the next destination would be your favourite." Amy smiled and asked,"Why so?" Archie thought and said,"Because it is so you." Amy narrowed her eyes questioningly but Archie just winked and shrugged and Amy shook her head smiling.

Amy realised that their journey was longer than she thought because it was already 6:30 when they went on the way to their next destination. The sun was gonna set soon and Amy was really intrigued about the next destination because Archie had said it was so her. She thought a lot but didn't have any idea and soon she realised why Archie had said that. Her face brightened up and she looked at Archie with excitement written all over her face.

She smiled and said,"Amusement park?" Archie smiled down at her in return and said,"Yes! Amusement park." She giggled and intertwined her arms with Archie's arm and pulled him with her. She asked excitedly,"What are we doing here?" Archie grinned and said,"I hope you like the Ferris wheel." Amy's smile widened if it was even possible and she said,"Yes! Yes! let's go." Archie chuckled and they both made their way in the direction of the giant wheel.

They both sat side by side, hands intertwined. As they were slowly going up. Amy said giggling,"I'm so excited." Archie chuckled again and said,"That I can see." Both of them laughed.

When they reached the top, they stopped and Amy's jaw dropped at the sight. The sun was setting and the sky was painted in so many different colours that there's only one word to describe it, beautiful. They could see half the city, from that height. The birds were returning to their nests. The city was busy underneath but it was so calm and serene up there. It felt like the most peaceful place on the earth. It felt like heaven. Moments later, when they started moving again, Amy turned towards Archie with wide eyes and said,"Did you see that?"

Archie smiled at her and said,"That was the plan. To see the sunset with you." She looked him in the eyes and smiled widely.  She hugged him so tightly that if she was stronger, she would have crushed his bones. She murmured slowly, releasing him from the hug,"Thank you." He smiled at her and replied,"You are most welcome Amy." She kissed him on both his cheeks.

When they left the Ferris wheel, they went towards the ice-cream parlour. Amy had a chocolate flavoured and Archie chose black current. They both sat on a bench and licked their ice creams when suddenly Amy said,"You know Archie! This is my first time coming to an amusement park and I really enjoyed it so much. So, thank you." Archie furrowed his brows and asked,"What do you mean first time? Didn't your parents ever bring you to the amusement park to play as a kid?" Amy looked at him with lips pressed in a thin line. Archie said,"Tell me! You know you can share anything with me." Amy replied,"I know but let just push this story for another time. I don't wanna ruin our first date. So please, can we not?" Archie gave her a worried look then sighed and said,"OK! Whenever you are ready."

They were in the car again when Amy asked,"Are we going home?" Archie replied,"Uhhh!... no, not yet. There's just one more place I want to take you to." Amy hummed and replied an okay.

Archie parked the car near their apartment where that secluded place was. Amy said,"Archie-" Archie put a hand up for her to not say anything and then he said,"Just don't say anything. Come with me, yeah?" She obliged and this time together, hand in hand, they went inside. It was like their own secret spot, hidden from the world.

When Amy entered and saw her surrounding, she looked at Archie with tears brimming in his eyes. She let go of Archie's hands and covered her mouth. She sobbed and chocked on her words,"A- Archie?" It was all she could utter. Archie turned towards her to face her and smiled down at her. The tree and everything else was decorated the same way when Archie had first proposed to her. Archie said,"Don't cry Amy. The first time we were here, things were different but now it's not the same anymore."

He picked up the bunch of roses that was lying on the swing and smiled at Amy. He then went on one knee and said,"I just don't know why! But I had to do this. Amy, you brighten my day with just a smile of yours and I feel so happy and proud of myself when I become the reason behind that smile, that- that I was able to bring that beautiful smile on your face. Our pasts are fucked up.. who am I kidding, we both know that there were many disastrous situations in our pasts, even if we haven't told everything yet to each other but from this day forth I want to make our futures better, especially yours. I don't know if I'll be able to or not but let me give it a try yaa?"

Amy chuckled even after tears were falling one after the other. He continued,"Amy,I want you to be my constant, henceforth. Even if everybody will be against us, apart from our best friends of course, I want you to fight with me, against them, for us and for that you will need to trust me. No matter what anyone say, I just want you in my life and I will never ever leave you or want anything or anyone else, I promise. So now I'm gonna ask you the same question again. Will you, Amy Black, do me the honour of being my girlfriend?"

Amy replied a soft yes and bit her lower lip still trying to control her sobs. Archie stood up with a wide grin and under the same fairy lights, he kissed her. It was sweet, passionate and a slow kiss. Amy kissed him back pouring all her love which she just couldn't describe in words.

Archie closed the distance between them by putting both his hand on her waist and pulling her close, so that she was flushed against him. Amy put her hands at the back of Archie's neck, pulling him down and herself standing on tiptoe, deepening their first proper kiss.

It seemed like the world had stopped and it was only them and their love for each other that remained. They only broke the kiss when they were out of breath. Amy's legs were shaking so Archie tightened his grip on her waist to support her. Once she maintained her balance she looked up at Archie with a sweet smile and face flushed red, maybe because she was out of breath. Their heads connected and Amy chuckled. She said,"Well, that was-" but Archie completed the sentence for her,"Amazing." They both smiled.

Amy said after a few seconds,"Now what?" Archie gave her a confusing look and asked,"What what?" She pulled her lower lip out then said,"I don't wanna go back home.... yet." Archie said,"I assumed so. Wait up a minute." He then left and came back a minute later with a blanket. He smiled at Amy and said,"Would you like star gazing?"  She smiled and replied,"I would love star gazing."
