LUNCH

A maid came in with her breakfast and put it down on the table. Before closing the door she turned towards Amy and said,"Young master has told me to remind you that you'll be expected downstairs during lunch." Amy nodded her head and thanked her. She freshened up, took her breakfast then started reading a book.

She didn't even realise where the time had flown when she looked at the watch which showed her it was past 2 o' clock. She hurried downstairs in her black tank top and denim shorts. Her hair were pulled in a messy bun on the top of her head. She reached the dining room where her father was about to finish his lunch at the head of the table. Her father looked at her appearance and made a face, eyes full of disgust, which clearly told Amy he wasn't happy in the least. Amy hurried towards the chair beside her brother who gave her a reassuring smile and sat down. They ate lunch in complete silence except for the clacking of the silverware.

When they all were finished Amy just sat there not knowing what to say. Her mother asked her,"How's college Amy?" She replied,"It's good mom. I've been awarded the scholarship repeatedly." Her mother just nodded in acknowledgement. Antonio said,"Chloe, I want you to go and make the preparations for tonight." Her mom nodded and left the dining room. His father then turned towards her and said,"We are having special guests today. I want you to look presentable." She nodded. Lewis said,"Why was I not notified about this dad? Who's coming?" Antonio replied,"You'll see" and left the room.

Both Amy and Lewis looked at each other with puzzled expressions. It would be the first time that Amy would meet any guests of her dad because otherwise she was always told to stay in her room. Amy sighed and said,"I'll be going to my room then." Lewis grabbed her wrist and said,"Why not you come with me for a tour of the gardens? You haven't been here in a while." Amy smiled and shook her head saying,"I don't feel up to it. I appreciate it though. Maybe later?" Lewis sighed and whispered an alright and they went on their ways.

As soon as she lied down on her bed, her phone started going crazy. She picked up her phone, sighed and answered the call in a bored voice,"Hey Em." Em said cheerfully,"What's up sweetie? Wait lemme call Archie too." They talked about their day during the conference call. Amy told them about the lunch and then the guests. After an hour of gossiping, Amy told them that she has to go and they ended the call.

A few minutes late her brother came in with a maid and a person whom she couldn't recognize. Lewis said,"I bought you a dress for tonight raven and this is Mr.Collins, the best hairstylist around here. He'll help with the hair, of course. So, start getting ready." Amy protested,"Brother! You really didn't have to do this." Lewis retorted,"Oh, zip it. I had to. You have to look like a princess." She chuckled but accepted the dress and thanked him.

A couple hours later she was ready. She looked at herself in the mirror and sighed. She was looking beautiful and elegant in that dress but deep inside she was having a nagging feeling. She was wearing a plain black knee length lace strap dress. Her hair were let down, parted from the middle in front and dark black locks swaying freely at the back. She was wearing black stiletto pump shoes and blackish grey earrings which were the shape of leaves. Her mascara and matte salmon coloured lipstick did go fabulously with the dress.

It was nearly 7 when she decided to go downstairs. As she reached the living room, she stopped in her tracks at the sight in front of her.
