Chapter 4: Transitioning - Part 1

It has been a few days, FengGe had been wondering about his brother LongWei and was getting worried, he had not spoken to him since, it is like LongWei had suddenly fallen out with his brother yet he sits next him at dinner. That afternoon FengGe didn't have a lot to do so he closed up early and tried to find out what was going on with his brother as he was getting worried at what he might do.

FengGe was sitting in a cafe when he spotted LongWei, he was about to call out to him when he noticed his pace was a little different than usual and he decided to discreetly follow him. Only to find that he was having a dejavu moment and pictured an image from when they were younger, but something was slightly off. LongWei never liked the shortcut, he only stuck to well lit streets, something has changed him dramatically.

FengGe watched from afar wanting to confront him but also wanting to see what he does next. He stayed all afternoon till the last light of the sun was gone and just as he was starting to turn away he saw something he couldn't imagine. He rubbed his eyes, he still couldn't believe what he was seeing. FengGe did not confront LongWei, he just waited it out till he was ready to talk to him again.

At least for now FengGe knew why LongWei was acting differently. For weeks FengGe carried on working as usual to keep his mind from thinking too much about his brother.

FengGe couldn't help thinking he was partly to blame for LongWei's sudden change in attitude. 'I should have been there for him more…' FengGe said to himself 'I go and help everyone else but I can't make time for my brother…' He started to get himself wound-up and he felt it, so he calmed himself down the way he usually does 'breathing in, breathing out…' he carried on working, some days he had worked till late, but there were days when even though he finished early he still came home late as he strolled around just thinking and needing time to himself.

Most nights he arrived home everyone would be asleep, so he quietly walked to his room, undressed and went to sleep, but one night at the corner of his eye he caught LongWei in the living room just staring blankly at the wall. FengGe turned-away and ascended up the stairs, about halfway up he heard 'FengGe...Is that you?' but the voice sounded deeper than Longwei's voice. He walked back down and suddenly he stopped as LongWei was at the bottom of the stairs already. 'What is it that you want LongWei, assuming it is still you?' FengGe asked sternly, 'What changed your attitude and so quickly?'

There was a long pause of silence, both brothers staring at each other.

'I can not explain it, but it feels like there is this power surge inside of me trying to take control of me' LongWei tried to explain.

'It's ok, whatever it is that's gotten inside you, you will gain that control and I will try and help you whenever I can' FengGe said calmly, 'You have to make sure no one knows you have this power surge, people around they gossip a lot, just keep a low profile. I still care about you little bro'.

LongWei tried to hide his tears and said 'I will and I never meant to take it on you, when I found out I was so confused I didn't know what to do'.

'And you thought you would find answers at the temple?' FengGe asked

'Well it seemed like a good idea at the time' LongWei answered.

It was late, so they parted into their own bedrooms to sleep the rest of the hours before daylight strikes through the window. That morning seemed like it was an ordinary start and one thing led to another…..

…..FengGe went to work as normal, seeing the usual people he passes by, but it wasn't until during his rounds of deliveries when he saw a series of random attacks, he couldn't save them all, he felt ashamed, it all happened so quick. He tried to hold his head up high for the rest of his shift, something else happened on his way home, he knew he had to do something to help...
