After a rough night, he did manage to doze off for a time, but he woke up hovering in mid-air, he tried not to panic and calm himself to float back down. It had taken him a few tries and he eventually floated back down to the floor with a thump. 'The time is near…' A voice whispered in his ear, FengGe looked around him saw no one, then… 'You will become stronger and free…' The voice continued again.
FengGe went over and over in his head what he had just heard, he had suspicions what it might mean, but he wasn't sure what it actually meant. He needed answers and he's usually more patient than this, but it was wearing thin. He thought about going to Jin's place to see if he could help, FengGe was contemplating many things, nothing was ever for certain anymore.
As he casually walked down the street he stopped suddenly, the voice spoke again 'You have lost someone, but death is only the beginning of another adventure…' FengGe seemed confused, it did not go unnoticed by his boss as he was working slightly slower as he was pondering on his thoughts. "Jayson! Are you alright?" His boss asked.
FengGe looked blankly "Yeah I'm alright, just still feeling sad over my dad's sudden death, but I really need to work to get back to routine" His boss smiled, turned to let him get on whilst he did his own thing.
FengGe however thought about asking his mother some questions about his dad's death, but didn't want to upset his mum, so he carried on catching up on his work within the shop as he didn't have any deliveries. Suddenly LongWei came rushing through and startled FengGe. "LongWei? What brings you here? How's mum? Why aren't you at home?" He asked before LongWei could catch his breath. "Bro...Just let me talk now, Mum is alright, she's sleeping, but I need to pop out urgently". LongWei said quickly.
LongWei shot off before FengGe could get a word out, so he decided to finish off and go home to look after his mum. When he walked inside the house he saw his mum sitting on the couch, he was a little worried and hastened his pace, he gave her a hug and kiss on her cheek, she smiled. "FengGe you are such a good boy and a brave boy too, please continue to look after LongWei and guide him on the right path, he seems a little troubled".
FengGe only nodded not saying another word as he walked his mother to her room to sleep. He carried on cooking dinner for himself...then…'Jayson! You must be prepared all the time for what is to come…' the deep voice said.
FengGe felt a sudden backlash on hearing the voice, the words were as confusing as ever.
That evening he tried to get some rest, but those words swirling around in his head had made it very hard. In his dream he saw a guy with the same deep voice but his face was covered with a cloaked hood.
'They were both standing facing each other in silence for a long while, FengGe trying to figure out whom he was, but the man would never remove his hooded cloak. "You know you should not stare, it is considered rude" the man said.
"Er...S...Sorry thought I knew you, but I know I definitely heard your voice before. What is with the confusing phrases?"
"Yes I have been trying to reach out to you, this seemed like the better option considering you are always out and about."
"...Erm...OK...I'm always trying to keep busy for personal reasons, as I have been through so much recently…."
"Yeah...So sorry to hear about your father, hope your mother and brother are coping as well as you are".
"Well my bro will be alright he is strong, but my mother is finding it a lot harder, my bro and I are trying to help her, she seems to be deteriorating and I'm worried" FengGe feeling tearful, "She's making herself ill as she is not looking after herself, I just don't know what else to do".
There was silence as the hooded man was in deep thought. "Hmm...Obviously you are already preparing food for her…" FengGe nodded. "There is nothing more that I can really say to you that you don't already know, just keep doing what you are doing and listen to your mother '...Keep LongWei on the right path…', Just remember this be prepared for what's to come" The hooded guy echoed out as he varnished.
Jayson didn't realise he had fell asleep or how long he was chatting to the hooded cloaked man, until he looked to the door and saw himself.
Then he suddenly woke up and laid there for a while before heading downstairs to whip-up some food and checked on his mum to make sure she ate some food, meanwhile worrying about LongWei as he hadn't come home that night.
Jayson sat by his mother wondering what else he could do and dozed off. Shortly after LongWei had returned home and went up the stairs to see his brother and he took out a blanket to cover him, to only head straight back out.
