The danger alarm

The weather was cloudy and it felt like it would rain soon.

My feet felt numb after walking for too long. I grabbed the tree branch beside me and panted heavily.

"Why can't we just stay where we are?" I yelled, since those three didn't stop.

It was Elian who stopped just to make me realize how unimportant I was.

"You can stay if you want to, it would be better to have one less mouth to feed anyways" his voice was as cold as ice and his stare showed me his eyes had no emotions at all. He turned back and joined the other two who still didn't realize I wasn't with them.

Elian's cold words felt insulting to me. I decided that I won't join them anymore.

I sat under the shadow of a palm tree whose leaves were big and green. Even though I was alone there, I still felt like it was better than going with the ones who didn't want me and considered me a burden . It was okay for me to go with Gale and Sarah but Elian, I had enough of him.

****

I had no idea when I slept under the palm tree. From how much time was I asleep?.

I woke up from the sound of " little girl".

When I opened my eyes I saw three big men surrounding me under the palm tree. They were wearing some kind of uniform, blue jacket, and same color pants, Black belt and a cap. It seemed like they worked for the same company.

I realized that after Gale, Sarah, and Elian, these three are only unfrozen in the town. Bell rang in my mind, the danger alarm like something wasn't right.

I slowly stood up.

"Can I help you, sir?" I could feel my voice tearing up making me frightened

One of them chuckled and the other one gave me a smirk. This was enough to make me believe that they were not good people, they could harm me.

I pushed the guy in front of me and ran as fast as I could.

They ran after me

"We won't harm you" yelled one of them.

"You will be safe with us" yelled another one.

But I didn't stop, not for a second. I hid behind a big truck, hoping they won't see me. Why does my world have to change this fast?.
