Catch up

Before going straight home, both decided to go to the "The Blue Bells", it was a well-known coffee shop and day and night people we're expected. Ryan and Denver were seated on a window-side table. They were able to get a clear view of the outside world.

The waitress placed their desired orders and left them to be. There was an awkward silence, both were at a loss of words. They were talking all along the ride from the airport to the cafe but suddenly something struck Denver, the mansion in which his parents were killed was just 2 blocks away from the cafe and it could be seen as it was a really huge mansion, it's peak could be seen.

Ryan didn't foresee how uncomfortable his friend was and suggested to change place but Denver just ignored the fact, he thought maybe he was overreacting and didn't want to be a burden to someone whom he met after 5 years.

" So how was life in France?", Ryan asked finally having the courage to break the long-lasting silence.

"Pretty good, but not awesome I would say".

" 'Pretty good?', Man you are a filthy millionaire and you say life is pretty good!", Ryan scoffed.

"Seriously, I thought you changed, but it seems you love for money didn't", and it was Denver's turn to scoff at his best friend.

" Well, somethings never change like how the Massacres are still roaming freely around L.A., and we police are helpless".

There was a little spark of sadness seen in Denver's eyes.

"Don't worry, now that I am here and we are working together, I am sure they can hide no more", Denver said with a smirk. " Now is there anything that changed?".

"Yeah, my sexual preference".

" Excuse me?".

"What?, I found out that I am bisexual".

Ryan was waiting for Denver's reply, he was anxious about this topic and didn't know how to tell this matter of fact to his friend.

" Congratulations", Denver smiled.

"Wait, so you don't judge me?!".

" Why would I?".

"Because others do", Ryan said playing with his fork.

" I am not others Ryan, I am your best friend, and as far as I know friends don't judge".
