Annoyed King

He had only been gone for a few hours, the only time he was allowed to go for a peaceful run to enjoy quietness was today, and he came back to find his hoodie and lunch missing! Xander grumbled as he pulled his pants on, his gaze narrowed at the ground in annoyance as he tried to pick up the scent of whatever looted his things.

As his gaze moved over the clearing, he used his enhanced sense of smell to sniff the area. Outside of his own scent, and that of the natural scent of nature, nothing else was around.

Sadly whatever had stolen from him had somehow managed to hide their scent from him, what more, his wolf was really agitated for some reason, and wasn't able to explain why! He just kept grumbling about having an odd feeling of needing to find whoever took their belongings. The issue was, he wanted them back unharmed.

Xander wasn't known for being caring to someone who crossed him, so the fact that he had the nagging feeling of not wanting to hurt the person who stole his hoodie and food was upsetting him more. After a while to calm himself down some, he began his hike back to the large caste that was hidden behind the large hill.

When he was home, several servants would look at him and whisper, hiding their gazes when he turned to stare at them. A low growl scattered them off as he made his way to the large meeting room. Sitting down, he huffed while rubbing his forehead. The beta that had been by his side since childhood, came in. Seeing the mood the king was in, he slowly shifted the door closed before clearing his throat.

"I need some trackers. The best." Xander said as he kept his eyes closed, his breathing even. Jack seemed unsure of what to say for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I'll send Bae and them to go and -" he began before Xander raised a hand.

"The person who you are looking for, bring them to me unharmed…." he said before Jack nodded. "Then Leo and them." he stated before getting a nod from Xander. "Start from the Back garden, the clearing is where I know they were last."

Jack nodded before pausing as he shifted slightly as he debated if he should state the reason he'd shown up here in the first place or not. Thankfully he didn't have to get Xander's attention again, as the male finally opened his dark brown eyes to stare at him. "What is it?" he said with a tone that was filled with annoyance.

Jack swallowed slightly as he did his best to stand up straight, his eyes lowered as to not cause anymore frustration to his Alpha. "There was an issue in the wastelands…" he stated before glancing up for a moment. He saw Xander pressing his lips together, eyes narrowing as he nodded for him to continue.

"The Rogues seemed to have banded together to create a large group. They still fight among themselves, but it's clear that someone is starting to take charge." he stated.

Xander tilted his head back as he thought for a moment, his dark gaze resting on the stone ceiling above him as he debated his response. "Let them be for now, but keep an eye on them." he stated slowly. "Though I sent them to the wastelands so they'd fight among themselves, it's still their land now, so we'll keep our hands out of it unless it threatens the rest of the Kingdom."

Jack nodded before he let out a low breath of air. The longer his Alpha went without his mate, the worse he was getting. The beta was debating if the man was starting to go Rogue due to the long wait. It wasn't uncommon to have an Alpha lose himself to being a Rogue, but normally it was after they'd lost their mate. Then again, one normally found their mate in their teens.

With that, Jack left to go gather Leo and his group to find whomever had clearly annoyed their Alpha. He was just confused on why he didn't want Bae to go instead, they were great trackers as well as one of the strongest fighters. Leo was an amazing tracker, but wasn't that good at fighting. Regardless, the group left to do as instructed while Jack went with them.

For some reason, he had the feeling that if they messed this mission up, it would be their skin on the line.
