Joseph was the one who arrived at the classroom earliest among the boys. He sat at the same seat as before as he was a bit used to it now. As he was taking out his books and stationery, someone petted him on his shoulders. Joseph looked up and it was Ian. Besides him, stood an unknown person.
"Hey Joseph! How are you today?" Ian said with enthusiasm.
"I'm good. You?"
"Thanks bro, I'm good too. By the way, this is Brian." Ian said when he pointed at the boy next to him. He continued, "Brian, this is Joseph."
Right after that, the boy next to Ian spoke up. "Hi! I'm Brian Grey. I'm really sorry that I didn't take part in any of the project. If there is another upcoming project, I will do that by myself. Would you mind that?"
"N..." When Joseph was about to say "no", he was cut off by Ian.
"Ah yeah! I almost forgot about that? I'm really sorry too, Joseph. Me and Brian will do the next project to make up for our fault. Would you forgive us?" Ian said while moving to sit next to Joseph.
"O...okay..." Although Joseph wanted to scold them, he was afraid that the mood would turn grim because of that. He could only reluctantly forgave their irresponsible behaviors.
"I know that you are a kind and generous man!" Brian said jokingly and sat next to Ian.
The two boys both talked excitedly and laughed a lot. Despite sitting next to them, Joseph could not join in their conversation at all. He shrugged his shoulders with resignation and started playing with his phone.
"Why do you look down, Joseph?" a familiar voice was calling next to Joseph. Joseph looked up at once and he saw those beautiful blue eyes again.
Joseph could not speak as he was stunned by the attractive boy standing next to him.
"Hi Nathan! You're finally here! I'm sor..."
"You're sorry that you didn't do the project and you would do that next time. Is that what you tryna say?" Nathan cut Ian off.
"Yes... Sorry Mr. Henderson." Ian replied and Nathan rolled his eyes.
"And who's that?" Nathan pointed at Brian.
"Oh! He's Brian Gre..."
"Could you two please move your seat? I don't want to walk pass three seats to get to mine." Ian was cut off by Nathan again.
Without complaining, Brian and Ian moved their seats and left Nathan an empty seat between them and Joseph.
Nathan then sat down in the empty seat. Joseph, who witnessed how Nathan sassed the two irresponsible boys, felt extremely proud and he giggled because of that.
"I'll always have your back, Joseph." Nathan whispered so that Ian and Brian could not hear him.
While Nathan was taking out his stuff, Joseph replied softly, "Thanks Nay." A noticeable blush immediately appeared on his face.
Nathan looked at Joseph and smirked before he continued to take out his stuff. Meanwhile, Mr. Jones walked inside the classroom and started speaking.
"Students, I hope you have had a great free day and didn't forget that you need to hand in the project today. Please hand in your project to me by sending it via my email address before tomorrow." Mr. Jones said, standing on the stage.
"I'll hand it in?" Nathan asked Joseph.
"Sure." Joseph answered.
Mr Jones continued, "Okay students. Let's start our lesson now. Please turn to page 23 and look at the first paragraph. It shows that..."
Nathan turned to the 23rd page and began to concentrate on the text with his head resting on his right hand. He looked really serious and attentive to what Mr. Jones was saying.
On the other hand, Joseph could not help thinking about that intense night. He could not believe that he gave his first time to the boy next to him. His heart beat faster and faster and he even had a little blush on his face just by thinking about it.
"Okay, let's turn to page 32 now. We'll now take a look of the picture..." Mr. Jones told the students.
Nathan turned to page 32 right after and he noticed that Joseph's book was still on the 23rd page.
"Page 32, Joseph?" Nathan said softly.
"Uh...okay..." Joseph came back to earth and quickly turn his book to the required page. Meanwhile, Nathan noted the blush on Joseph's face. He smirked a bit and concentrated on his textbook again.
Time flew. It was 11 a.m. and the lesson finally ended. Mr. Jones left the classroom before all students started to pack their things.
"Oops!" Joseph accidentally dropped his pen.
When he bent down to reach the pen, Nathan reached out to the pen at the same time. Their hands touched and they raised their heads. Their eyes met in the split second and it made their hearts raced. It felt like the whole world stopped turning when they gazed at each other.
"I... I'll get it..." Joseph gathered himself first and stuttered.
"O... Okay." Nathan took away his hand and tittered a bit. Both of the boys face turned red and the whole situation became really awkward.
"Hey you two! Do you guys want to have lunch together? There's a restaurant nearby that I really like!" Ian suggested. Fortunately, the whole awkward situation was alleviated by Ian without him noticing.
"Oh, yeah, sure! How about you, Joseph?" Nathan asked.
"I'm okay with that." Joseph said.
"Cool! Let's go then!" Brian said excitedly.
The four boys left the classroom and headed towards the restaurant that Ian suggested to go.
