Replacement (1)

It was surprising for her. She did not even know she was this type of person, but if she was, to be honest with herself, Mina was anticipating something else.

Even if she denied it from the bottom of her heart.

Mina's heart raced as she walked the hallway towards the tiger's den. She has always labeled his office as something dangerous for her soul. He had the power to make her knees weak, and she was reminded how he showed his tongue skills there.

As she stood right in front of the door, she braced herself, ready for something that would come to her. But whatever will happen this time, she promised that she would not allow herself to fall into Jeho's trap.

Even if he had the hottest chest and abdominal muscles out there, and even if his gentle face hid his wild capabilities in bed, Suji swore that she wouldn't let him do whatever he wanted.

And even if she would end up falling into his trap, she will try not to show that she liked it. After all, her pride defined her as a human being and showing him her most vulnerable state will be the end of it.

Taking a deep breath, Mina grabbed the doorknob and twisted it open. As she entered the room, she expected it to look the same as when she entered last week, but things were different. The half-naked man and had a quickie with a woman in his office disappeared and suddenly became prim and proper.

Contrary to the undies, tops, and bottoms that Mina saw, there was nowhere to be found, and she saw Kim Jeho sitting on his chair, busily looking into some papers, most probably things that needed his signature and all that.

Mina walked towards Jeho's office's receiving area and sat down, waiting for Jeho to notice him as a guest. She observed how Jeho looked so fine early in the morning. He wore a gray fitted suit and tie that matched his black loafer shoes.

'His usual dandy two-block hairstyle suited his manly and boyish charms today.' Mina thought to herself, but then she realized that she caught herself fangirling about how handsome he looked today.

'Quit it, Hong Mina,' she mumbled. 'He is just a manwhore. A man who is eager for sex and nothing else.'

"You're here?" Jeho glanced over to Mina's direction, and somehow, Mina tensed by the sudden action. "Hong Mina?"

Rolling her eyes, Mina snorted as she thought to herself, 'Of course, I am here. You can see me and my shadow inside your office, and you're greeting me with that line?'

But of course, even if she wanted to say that, she would not be able to, so she bit her lip.

Mina held her chin up and said, "It is within working hours, Mister Kim. Don't you think it was inappropriate of you to call my name directly even if you are the chairman's son?"

Standing up, Jeho approached the receiving area and the sofa where Mina was and sat across her. He snorted, "Isn't it because I am the chairman's son, and that was the reason why I can call your name directly without any honorifics?"

Mina became speechless; this bastard is right after all. He can call her whatever he wanted and would still get away with it. He's a higher up, and she won't deny his power and presence.

"Okay," Mina answered as she nodded. "If this is how you play this game Mister Kim, so be it. I am ready."

"Are you sure that you are ready?" Jeho raised his brows and clasped his hands as he leaned his elbows on his thighs. "I don't think you know what you are supposed to do with our contract."

"Whatever," Mina acted tough as she crossed her arms and straightened her back. "Won't you just tell me why you called me to your office, Mister Kim?"

"Oh, no, nothing really," Jeho gave Mina a wry smile and stared at her intently. In a moment, Mina saw a glint of red in his eyes, but it disappeared fast too. "I just wanted to flex how I managed to get you a lead role without any efforts."

"Yes, about that. You did not really have to,"

"Are you sure? I can call the Producing Director and cancel your role in a second." Jeho responded with a serious and monotonous face that made Mina think he would do that.

In a flash, Mina immediately raised the tone of her voice and yelled, "What are you saying, Mister Kim? I never said I did not want the lead role."

Kim Jeho laughed and found Mina adorable because even though she was someone who had a great sense of self-confidence and ego, she was surprisingly obedient. "Yes, sure. Mina, I was just kidding you. I am not someone who backs down with a promise."

As a reply, Mina just smirked and spoke, "You must be looking forwards to something since I landed a lead role through your help but don't expect anything from me."

Tilting his head as a response, Jeho seemed to be flustered by what Mina said. "What do you mean by that? I wouldn't get anything even if I made you land a role? There's no free lunch anywhere, Hong Mina."

"Well, I did not ask you to help me," Mina replied as a matter of factly, and it somehow triggered something inside Jeho. "But since you already gave it to me, I would whole-heartedly accept it."

Jeho seemed to be quiet for a second and was just staring at the floor. It was as if he was a dead log unable to retort whatever Mina's response was.

Mina continued to ask, "What happened to the female lead who was cast as the main role for the drama? Did she willingly give it to me?"

Mina was surprised when Jeho started clapping, so she chimed, "What? Why are you clapping?"

"I did not know you had a lot of time to worry for others." Jeho was sarcastic, and it earned a boost of sarcasm in his thoughts. "You should just worry about yourself. I am sure that what I did will tarnish your name. But not enough to bring you down or the company."

"What? Why though?"

"Because I asked them to remove the actress that they cast and replace her with you,"
