Company's History

Mina came back with her manager. It was definitely a tiring day. They finished the first shoot and dinner at almost eleven in the evening, and she just had to come back to the company because Kim Jeho said so.

What an annoyance.

But of course, she had no choice but to do it. After all, good things happened to her career when she became a part of the SW entertainment agency.

Slave? Sacrificing herself for the sake of her career? That's nothing new. At least it did not seem to be forced than people make it out to be. No matter how Mina came back with a bored look on her face as she sat down on the first floor's lobby. There were still people in the company having singing, dance and acting lessons.

Since most trainees are young and have classes during the day, they use evening until dawn classes for them.

Pitiful.

That was the right word to describe the youth who dedicate their lives to it. The entertainment industry did not only consist of talent, luck, and visuals. One would need to have a good backer or someone with great connections.

Big companies are relatively perfect for that but really hard to audition and be cast as a talent. Small companies are easy to get into but definitely hard to stand out because of branding and budget. Not easy.

"Mina, I'll be going now. Are you really sure that you still have an appointment here? You had a long day," The female manager looked worried and remarked, "You said that your apartment is just a walking distance, right? Make sure to go home safely and text me when you arrive?"

"Yes, manager," Mina pursed her lips.

Mina waited for almost thirty minutes, but the guy who called her did not even appear. Not even a shadow. She already saw some trainees walk past along her and even bowed their heads in respect to her.

Mina: Where are you, Kim Jeho?

This was definitely getting on her nerves. She sent this message an hour ago, but he still did not receive any reply at all.

It was still in his inbox, and he had not seen her message----

Oh? He already saw it!

After a few seconds of waiting, she did not receive a response.

Mina: Are you ignoring me?

Yet again, she was only seen-zoned. That irked her the most. That jerk was the one who called her over, and he had the guts to ignore her and make her wait. Does he even know that she has an early shoot at six in the morning?

No, of course, that jerk would not know that. If he knew, would he want her to wait?

Both of them value their work so much, so that is definitely out of the question. Realizing that she could not be wasting her time anymore, Mina stood up with the dullest facial expression she had. Her forehead creased as she approached a staff who was already on their way out.

"Is the company going to close?" Mina asked the security guard, who seemed to be the one who's checking every room and every corner of the company building.

"No, dear," The male security guard answered in his all-black suit. and loafer shoes. "You must be new here, miss?"

"Ah," Mina answered with a nod. "Yes. I am looking for the son of the chairman because he wanted to see me. This week was my first week here as a signed actress."

"Is that so? The CEO's son usually has a schedule and he works from the afternoon till dawn." The male security guard trailed off. "The company has been known for being open 24/7, did you not know that?"

Dumbfounded, Mina was in utter disbelief. "Really?"

"Yes," With the security guard leaning over for a whisper, he said. "The family that runs this business usually works at night."

"What? Really?" Mina exclaimed.

The male security guard, who seemed to be in his fifties, responded. "Young lady. I have been working here for thirty years already and this company was the first-ever company that succeeded in producing artists over the decade."

"I see,"

"I am telling you this top secret, okay? Do not tell anybody else?" He waved his hands and gestured to Mina to lean over. The man was shorter than Mina, so she was the one who needed to adjust.

Mina nodded, "Yes, of course."

The security guard looked to the left and right before he started his ted talk. "The reason why the company has run for several decades was that the founder of the company sold their soul to a demon."

Covering her mouth with her right hand, her mouth formed the letter O. "Is that so?"

Did this actually connect with Kim Jeho being an incubus?

Somehow, she already had the gist of it, but she pretended not to know and urged the security guard to tell her more about it.

"Yes, in exchange for gold and fame," The male security guard looked so into his story-telling. "The demon told the founder of the company that he will live in every firstborn male in his descendants. And that was the secret recipe of why the company has never had an extreme drop of stocks no matter how many scandals they faced."

The previous CEO had several scandals related to having an illegitimate child, and even Kim Jeho made headlines for his playboy nature. But nothing could ever break the protective wall that the company had.

Mina was silent, and both of them straightened their backs. Many thoughts came into Mina's mind. Everything finally made sense. The weird family that surrounded Kim Jeho and even his identity as an incubus made sense.

The male security guard then laughed. "You are so into this, young miss! I was just kidding you! Selling your soul to a demon is just what people tend to believe! The family who ran this company were already well-off and managed the business well!"

Not saying anything, the security guard tapped Mina's arm. "You look like you were scared, miss. All of it is just rumors. We are already in the 21st century. Story-telling already over kid."

Nodding in agreement, Mina just smiled awkwardly as the security guard waved his hands goodbye. As Mina chose to ride the elevator and go to the chairman's son's office, she saw Soojin coming out of the room.

"Mina, you're here?"
