Chapter 16: Halloween Party Preparation

As soon as Jeremy won presidency at his school, he started to become really busy. He now handles every club, even if he isn't in it. He organizes a meeting with the club members, and they plan events together based on their clubs. With that, Jeremy had to check if the other club members were suggesting good events for their said club.

Jeremy wanted to have fun. He really wanted another party. He decided to suggest that there should be a Halloween party held at the football field so that it's more spacious than the gymnasium. He told this idea of his to the principal, and thankfully he approved.

With that, everyone got busy. Jeremy had a meeting with different committees. He told them their roles at the Halloween party. The food committee would serve the food and drinks, the sound committee would do sound check and provide music, and the facilities committee would prepare the things needed and if there would be enough sockets or plugs or how many extensions will be needed for the speakers.

Jeremy was going around school handing out flyers and posting posters on different parts of the school especially the bulletin board. The poster said:

"Winterfolds High

'Spooktober Fest' (7:00 PM to 12 Midnight)

Held at the football field

See you there Winter Fighters!

(You are allowed to bring up to 3 guests)"

The girls saw the posters and immediately squealed and decided to go shopping with their boyfriends. Of course, Jeremy wasn't with them, because Jeremy was very busy. They went to the mall (Tiffany's mall) and immediately started looking for clothes. They finally found the right clothes for all of them. They even got one for Jeremy!

Tiffany and Cal bought matching costumes. Tiffany was Belle and Cal was Prince Adam. Erica and Marius bought a Queen of Hearts costume and a pirate costume. Rachelle and Devon bought a cat costume and a Phantom of the Opera costume. Jessica and Jack bought a Vampire costume and a Dracula costume. They bought a monkey onesie for Jeremy knowing that he didn't really want to dress up for it.

The next day at lunch time, the girls were chilling at their usual seats when they noticed that Jeremy wasn't sitting with them anymore.

"Girls, I miss Jeremy." Jessica said.

"I miss him too." The rest of the girls replied in chorus.

"I know! I have an idea!" Erica shouted with glee.

"What is it?" Tiffany asked.

"Let's go visit him at his office thing!" Erica stood up, ready to go.

"Okay! Let's go" Rachelle said and with that, the girls and their boyfriends went to where Jeremy is.

They soon arrive at Jeremy's 'office'. Ever since he won, the principal gave him his own office where he could do paper work. The girls knocked on the door and heard a faint "come in".

When the 8 of them got inside, they saw Jeremy with lots of papers to do and things to approve for certain things in club areas. Jeremy looked up from his work and he saw the girls with their boyfriends. "Oh. Hey guys." Jeremy said in an unenthusiastic way.

"Hey Jeremy. We miss you." Jessica started.

"Huh? Oh sorry. It's just that I've been really busy lately. Y'know being a president is really difficult and it takes up all of your time." A distracted Jeremy said.

"Well, why don't you put the pen and paper down and hang out with us for a bit, yeah?" Tiffany asked nicely but with a little bit of force.

Jeremy sighed heavily and shouted, "NO!!"

They were all shocked of his sudden outburst. He's never done that before.

"Geez, you don't have to be so mean!" Erica shouted back. The rest looked at Erica with wide eyes.

" WELL I WOULDN'T BE 'SO MEAN' ABOUT IT IF YOU GUYS DIDN'T COME HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE TO DISTRACT ME! THAT'S WHAT YOU DO ALL THE TIME AND FRANKLY, I'M SICK OF IT!!" Jeremy yelled. It was a scary sight to see. Jeremy never yelled at them.

"WE'RE NOT HERE TO DISTRACT YOU!! WE'RE JUST HERE BECAUSE WE WANT TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH YOU AGAIN!!" Erica yelled as well with the same range of voice. The rest were just quiet. They didn't know what to do or what to say. They were just watching.

"IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT I WON!! IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT THE PRINCIPAL GAVE ME A SHIT LOAD OF PAPER WORK TO DO!! AND IT'S CERTAINLY NOT MY FAULT THAT I DON'T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME WITH YOU!! YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT!!" Jeremy yelled as he stood up from his chair and put his hands on his desk aggressively.

"WELL IT'S NOT OUR FAULT EITHER IF WE WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU!! YOU'RE OUR BEST FRIEND!! WE CARE ABOUT YOU TOO!! TOO MUCH STRESS IS BAD FOR YOU!!" Erica yelled as she stepped closer to Jeremy. The girls immediately grabbed Erica in case she hurts Jeremy, and they didn't want to be in trouble.

"OH WOW!! I'M SO GLAD YOU KNOW SOME IMPORTANT THINGS NOW OTHER THAN DOING NONSENSE THINGS!!" Jeremy yelled back.

"REALLY?! I GUESS I KNOW WHY YOUR DAD DIED IN THE FIRST PLACE!! HE WANTED TO GET AWAY FROM A HORRIBLE SON LIKE YOU!! HE NEVER WANTED TO HAVE A SON LIKE YOU!! YOUR DAD MUST BE REALLY HAPPY HE'S AWAY FROM YOU....PERMANENTLY!!" Erica yelled at the top of her lungs and as soon as she said that she calmed down. The girls and the boys' eyes were wide and their jaw dropped.

Jeremy was shock at what Erica said. He never expected those words coming out from someone's mouth, especially if that someone is his best friend. "You know goddamn well that my dad was happy with us when he was alive." Jeremy said in a low voice.

"I guess your dad was great at acting like he was happy with you..." Erica shrugged it off like it was nothing.

The rest just watched the two best friends fighting.

"Erica, babe, let's just go. He's tired." Marius said softly to Erica as he slowly dragged Erica away from Jeremy.

"I can't believe you would say that. You know how I feel about my dad being dead. I expected so much from you. That was a low blow, Erica." Jeremy whispered.

"To be fair, you started it first. I didn't expect that you would yell at us either. So I did the same." Erica whispered back in a voice similar to Jennifer Lawrence and Shailene Woodley.

"You know what? I think it's best if we give each other some distance." Jeremy said sitting down.

"Fine." Erica said, turned around, and left the office.

The rest looked at each other and asking themselves whether to stay with Jeremy or follow Erica. Jeremy didn't make it any difficult for them as he said softly, "Just go with her." His voice cracking at the end. Obviously still upset about what Erica said to his dad.

The rest looked at Jeremy one last time and left to follow Erica.
