His hand went to the cross around his neck. The ruby at the top, and other affinity gems were smooth against his thumb as he rubbed them thoughtfully.

"What if you lose your lineage weapon?" Will asked after a moment of consideration. "Or what if an enemy overwhelms you and takes your weaponry? How besides the aura that didn't work on them in the first place would you resist them?" Will thought of the other uses this earth forging would give Ember. What Gruter was going to teach them was the first step to forging weapons of his own. He remembered Ragnos's words, chastising him for not using his imagination more with his affinities. If he could make weapons and armor out of minerals around him, would he ever really be defenseless?
