A Sliver of Soul

Will watched in the distance where he saw William land to see whether the doppelganger would return. He saw the plume of dust and grass where he had landed but he couldn't tell if William was still there or not. He tried to move, but the pain of his ribs began to throb. It was as if his body were telling him that the fight was over, and he hoped it was right. He looked down at the lineage cross he had just pulled from his body. When he returned his own weapon to pendant size, they looked identical. The only difference rested with the amount of gems that were set in the pendants, yet that wasn't just it. The silver of his own pendant didn't reflect in his doppelganger's. The other Will's cross was a solid gold, as if stating it's status was above silver.
