Bella opened her eyes slowly as she took in her surroundings and tried to remember what had happened.
The first thing she remembered was running and almost being hit by a car. She remembered how a memory of a different accident scene had flashed before her eyes before she fainted.
She remembered why she had been running in the first place. Kathleen's phone conversation about Dan. Her heart hurt as she remembered it, but she tried not to focus on it.
She had something more important to focus on. It was like a nudge on her mind, probing her to examine her thoughts.
Her eyes widened when she realized what it was. Her memories. They were back! She had regained her memory. Her memories were flooding back as though whatever had been blocking it had been lifted.
She remembered now how she had been running from Dan at the trade fair center, which she had snuck to without the knowledge of her family. Most importantly, she remembered who she was.
