The hunt for who is more qualified as Alpha King still goes on, it never did stopped. Selene was either blind or slightly intoxicated when she decided that Melissa would be Hope, because now she had a lot on her plate. She felt immensely drained.
Micage now has a mate, he's ripe for the throne though he lacked in somethings but that didn't mean he couldn't learn. But still, he is childish, immature and never good at making decision. He's the last child and not ready to rule, he's only passionate about being the alpha king because he wants to protect the world and stabilize peace among all species.
Devaro, King material from the start, and right for the title but he still hold some utter motive and is an illegitimate child, one the wolves would never accept. They only accepted him now because the twins were around and they needed someone in seat before the true alpha king.
And then there is Melissa, rightful heir and queen but once mated her powers will be given to Igaro, a hybrid who acts as a pet and machine to the throne, he lack communication attitudes , he only knows the ones Devaro taught him. And still wolves will never accept him. Melissa could be ruler but female rulers never last long.
So when Devaro questioned her, she knew she must make a decision. She pinned her amber eyes that glowed at him, Lyca speaking for the both of them.
"The kingdom will not know about my mating to Igaro. I will take my title as crown heir and rule before the true Alpha king is decided and also before the red moon"
They all stared in silence at her, even Molly was able to gather the fact that Melissa had just stripped Devaro off the throne and has taken it. Each individual had their own thought in the matter but they also knew there was nothing they could say. Melissa had already made the decision, one they had no voice to refuse.
Meetings always find its way to tire Melissa down, she had headed to her room for a quick bath, thoughts of what her decision may cause hunted her especially what Devaro would do to Igaro now that he knows that the one person he's been close to his while life lied and kept him in the dark. She could take back her words but still the reality of her situation still hunted her.
She really was glad that she was a Lycan and the mating was different from werewolves.
Lycans mate are still made by Selene, the moon goddess, but the decision of if they wanted to accept it or not was made by them. They feel the pull Werewolves feel and can control their desire whether or not they should bear their mark, well that's mostly because they would have to fight each other to dominate the other before acceptance. If the mate is not able to cope with the strength of the other mate, the Lycan looses interest and find another mate worthy. Which is why Lycans prefer to mate with their kind, their arrogance is equal.
Lyca found Igaro equivalent enough and worthy to bear her mark.
Melissa once used to dream of having a mate, one who would take her away from Valsher and love her and only her and not treat her like her brothers were doing, she once dreamt of even having a family of her own.
Everything change when life decided to change and prophecies and responsibility rested heavily on her shoulder.
She mostly wanted to prove herself worthy in her own way worthy of the crown.
A knock on the door stirred her away from her thoughts, she asked the person to enter, shocked and surprised he had decided to visit her and not Lydia.
"Hey Mel, You got a minute?"
She raised a brow at him through the mirror, humming a reply while she brushed her hair on her vanity.
Back then she didn't know the luxury of life, she used to kill people just for the taste, now she was living it what sweet irony.
Xander sat on one of the sofa in her room, staring back at her through the mirror, their eyes locked.
"You have changed a lot"
He started off curiously
"You look like a grown up woman, a very mature one"
Adoration shone in his eyes as he was recalling back when they were younger. Mel might deny this but he always took responsibility of looking out for her, even when she went through hardships he was still there sending signs and making sure she never gave up, he was like the guardian angel she never knew she had.
"Life changes us Xan"
She sighed, avoiding his gaze that reminded her so much of Master but yet his own unique quality. They had both grown well.
She abandoned her brush in the vanity, rising with her robe to sit on another sofa opposite him. For some odd reason she felt like a kid about to be scolded at the same time she felt like a woman talking to her equal.
Xander smiled fondly after accessing her, he had a twinkle in his pale blue eyes as he spoke.
"Remember that time when we were young when Tom and I used to destroy all your toys, remember how you got so angry you got back at us real bad. Gosh! I think I still have the mark in my left ass cheek from then".
She remembered. She was like five and they were 8 and 6. Irene was still in love with the fact that she had a daughter in her house and had gotten her a dozen dolls to play with, Xan and Tom got so jealous they destroyed all of them and Mel got so mad she avenged her dead dolls.
They still had the mark to show.
She nodded, also letting out a small smile followed with a chuckle.
Glad that she remembered,he continued on gently,
"Right now you are acting just like how Tom and I were back then"
She raised a brow before slowly she understood what he was aiming at, only this time the toys was the power and she was Devaro and the others.
He was worried about her safety but she wasn't doing this just for herself.
"You know am not doing this just for myself. I have the people's wants in mind"
"I know, but you should satisfy your wants first before others"
"I do want this Xan, I feel like I have to prove myself, be someone better like my mother was"
Ivory was known for many things, in Isha she was the gold heart heir, in the castle she was the angel who won the devil's heart, her father, even after Alovia attempted to kill her, she made alliance with people like the US military Bale. She did so much that people still sang her name. That was who Melissa wanted to be.
Xander knew this, he was proud yes of what she used to be and now but still he can't help but worry about his little sister. Blood or not that bond was still there.
"I just want you to be careful that's all"
"And I'll be, besides Devaro would never hurt me, he love the fact that he now has a family too much to lay a finger on me"
She hoped.
She held on to that growing bond they had after that rare connection when he opened up his wounds to her. She just hope he was understanding of the situation.
"That might be true but growing up with demons especially the lord of seven deadly sins, you can never know their true intention"
All was also true. At that moment Xander tried to be her voice of reasoning.
"Then I shall put faith in Devaro and the bond we have"
It was all she had left.

Molly walked down the hallway, looking sideways in search of somebody. Forcefully she shared a room with Micage though she refuse to admit it but she enjoyed their time together, also Cage was able to explain little about the situation she was in and mostly about the meeting. She felt her heart reach out to them at what happened to their mother and hope they find her and hatred towards the two people that was causing zone much pain and destruction.
It's late in the afternoon, Cage wasn't with her, she decided to do some exploring of her own and also to talk to someone other than the golden haired prince. She continued on, obvious of the two hybrids trailing her, even though she didn't like it she must bear with it as part of the conditions with Melissa. They were quiet and always having a distant look, it gave her the creeps so she decided to avoid looking at their faces especially their glowing silver eyes.
Turning a corner she walked straight into a wall of muscle, hurting her nose.
"O-uch!!"
She stepped back, looking up at who she stumbled upon, Silver eyed met her but this one was more grey in color.
"Princess. Are you hurt?"
She almost swoon at his huskiness, back in Florida, girls will kill to be in the presence of a hunk and she would hang posters and only dream about meeting one. Now she stood before one only for an image of a golden poster boy to appear and not her usual hunks. She was whipped before she even started.
She shook her head back to the present quickly recalling the question he asked.
"No, no am not. Am alright... You are Igaro right?"
He nodded,
"Yes my princess"
He gave a small bow that had Molly so red in the face.
"Please, please enough of that, am Molly, you know me right?"
"Of course, princess. You Prince Micage's mate, Molly Tyler"
She groan inwardly.
"Do you by any chance know where Micage is?"
"Prince Micage is currently working in the stable your highness"
"Whoa, how many horses do you guys have?"
"Over fifty, princess"
She knew it. This Royal fantasy life involve the the real rich life and deals.
Cage had handed her one of Mel's short gown which was able to size her. She couldn't stand vulgush gowns and high heels, sadly she couldn't bring her jeans and shirt her but Cage did promise to have her wardrobe filled up since she would be staying here from now on.
Molly hidden princess child shivered in delight at the idea of beautiful gowns.
"Where is Melissa?"
"Princess Melissa in a meeting with Alpha Xander in study".
"Sweet! Can you please take me there?".
He bowed again, "Of course, princess"
He turned to work ahead, Molly followed behind with the other hybrids behind.
She understood what every body was saying about Igaro's lack of speaking. He spoke like a trained butler who was reciting formalities from memory, it was sad how he spoke like a machine.
Not wanting silent, she walked beside him, starting a conversation she hope would help.
"So Igaro??? How long have you lived in the castle?"
"Since King Devaro born, princess"
Whoa that long and meeting that Devaro dude she feared for Igaro.
"You know..... I was working to study micro biochemistry in college next year, now I don't think it will ever be possible"
She didn't know why she was telling him this. She just needed someone to know what she was losing back home. Despite her petty form and stubborn trait she loved science and learning more about how life was created and helping treat people in anyway she can.
"King Devaro a micro biochemist. He teach you, princess"
She found it cute he was sounding like a child just to be nice to her but still it was weird.
"I don't know about that, the dude gives me the creeps"
True... She wanted to stay away from him and his critizing gaze.
"King Devaro good, he helped Igaro and the others like Igaro"
The group forgot to add that Igaro was not only loyal to the throne but to Devaro.
"Well however it might be I'll be sure to find a way to help you Igaro, I promise".
"He is not a wounded animal that needs treatment"
They stopped walking to stare ahead at Melissa who was slaying it in a V- neck baby pink gown that had a slit by the left side.
"Am only trying to help, Mel"
Her eyes were set in a slit.
"He doesn't need your help"
"Princess"
There was a little emotion when he regarded her with a bow before blending to the wall.
Molly caught sight of the glow in her eyes, but it was gone the moment it appeared.
"I was looking for you"
Molly averted her statement to her, a small smile gracing her pink lips. Melissa's defence rose, her brow arc at her questioning.
"Well you have found me now, so... whats up?"
"I wanted to apologize for calling you out yesterday, I spoke rudely to royalties and I guess that meant off with her head"
Mel raised a brow before letting a sigh, her shield lowered a little.
"Its alright Molly, I did act out of line too so it is I who should apologise and please we are wolves not barbarians"
She relaxed as she release a huff while Molly released a light chuckle.
Molly couldn't stay on her feet, she shifts from side to side.
"Do you have time? I was hoping you could explain some things to me since I'll be staying here"
Her walls came back up again and she looked resentful.
"The others should have let me send you back, this life is too dangerous for you".
Molly bit her lips while she tried to understand her. She wondered if she hated her presence or just her in general.
"I think they are just doing it for my benefit, I may not like it but I understand"
She shrugged before adding lazily,
"and besides am actually starting to like it here, I find the interior fascinating and the fact that am inside a real castle bigger than the queen of England"
Mel chuckle,
"Oh yeah!! Well you better start getting use to it cause you will be living a princess life now"
Molly had a look of horror.
"Does it involve putting on vulgus gowns everyday?"
She finally let out a full laugh.
"What do you think?. Do I look like one who wears that every time?"
Molly scanned her again, then thought of the dress she had on.
"Nope!!! But you sure are rocking the princess style"
They shared a laugh, already at peace with each other presence. Igaro watched them like a status yet something like confusion shone in his eyes.
Mel stopped laughing, gazing down at Molly, she had the same feelings she had for her back at her place in Florida.
"Hey em!, I'm suppose to meet Lydia downstairs to welcome their new members maybe you'd like to join me, you know? To dull away time"
Molly couldn't help the huge grin she had on. Something told her this was just the start of a journey to a beautiful friendship and sisterhood.
***********
They headed downstairs to a hall by the side of the castle where Lydia stood in front of 12 young and older males. She was dressed in jeans and crop top, a bored look on her face as she kept writing on a board in her hand and listening to one of the men talk.
"Hey Ly? What's up?"
Mel found it life changing that her once partner now Luna was her bestfriend in front of her. Since they were now staying in the castle, Mel had plans to make them council members it will help null the fact that they were still Alphas and Lunas and also every King deserves an assistant just as every alpha deserves a beta.
"You sure took your sweet time, your highness"
There was humour in her sarcastic tone.
"Yeah.. But look who I brought along"
She stepped aside to reveal Molly who she sent a shy wave.
"Hi Lydia"
"Gosh! Molly!! So good to see you"
She left the presence of the men to elope her in a hug.
"Well its so good to see that my best friend appreciates my presence"
She rolled her eyes teasingly.
"It's not like that, its just I though your crazy ass family already scares her off"
"You are so delusional at times Ly"
She shrugged while smiling sheepishly.
"Well I can assure you, am not one to give up without a fight"
She smiled fondly at the two.
"Good for you. You need that"
Then she took notice of the men who stood in an horizontal line staring upward and still as statue
"Err whats going on here?"
"Oh! The guys found some new recruit for our little pack and FYI, I mean Adrian and Carl"
"Where are they? Aren't they suppose to be helping you"
Mel questions as her eyes scanned the room, she just realized that she hard see the two hunk.
A frown was on her lip at the though that they had decided to lazy off when there was much to do.
"They are probably in their room having a reunion party"
Mel eyes almost bulbed.
"No way!! Adrian and Carl? fucking shit that's crazy"
"Yep! Just as wasting those fine abs on each other and not some sweet killer fighting girl"
"Since when?"
"Well since forever, they just kept it from us until that period when we left Florida"
"Oh my gosh! I so do not know what to say"
"What's going on?"
Molly was lost.
"Oh Adrian and Carl are mates"
"Who?"
"Cute posterboy baseball player and hunky military man type".
Ly said it like it wasn't any big deal.
Molly eyes widen,
"Fuck!!! You mean hunky cutie and hunky sexy with the killer vibe?"
"Yep they are the one"
"What a waste of fine ass great specimen"
Molly let out a breath of pure disappointment.
"True!! Any girl would have surely enjoy a great night with just one of them or two on a one hot wild steamy night"
"Hmm Mmm"
Molly hummed in agreement.
Melissa felt like she stood beside two Lydias, her mouth was opened at how obvious they were salivating about sex and guys.
"Unbelievable! You do know we all have mates right?"
Molly and Lydia ignored her and just dramatically sigh dreamily.
Mel rolled her eyes at them. But she had to admit, she loved the moment, they were acting like normal teenagers fantazing about normal boy crushes. If only their life can become that normal.
