Finding cultivation ressources

Arrived at the counter, he directly went to the woman who had helped him complete the task and asked where he could buy skills.

"You can buy skills directly in the adventurer's guild. Of course, the only skills we sell are related to fighting which should probably be the skills you planned on buying? Those skills are from some retired adventurers who wanted to make some money with their retirement. When an adventurer retires, we generally offer to buy them their skills to sell to new adventurers. This way, they can make more money while contributing to the adventurer's guild by helping new adventurers. Unfortunately, it is not possible to keep the rank of the skills when transferring them to new adventurers or we would be able to make strong adventurers easily. As such, all the skills are priced differently depending on the strength and use of the skill itself. However, it is important to know that even the most useless skill will be at least priced at one gold coin. As such, I would recommend you to make more money by completing more tasks first."

Aurus nodded his head while thinking and he thanked the lady before turning to the task board. Currently, he had three system tasks to complete. The first one being the reason he came here. The collection of resources. The second task was being promoted as an adventurer which would take some time. As for the last one he needed to complete more tasks to make money and buy skills.

Either of these three tasks was as important as each other. The first one was about operating the shop while the other two were about gaining obviously some benefits but also becoming stronger by using skills which weren't present back on Arashina. In the end, there was only one thing to do, complete adventurer's tasks. Not only will he have a chance of collecting resources, but he will also have a chance on making money and getting stronger which is synonymous to three birds one stone.

Looking at the task board, there was still a task about slaying slimes. However, as he could see the pay wasn't very much but every task of the F rank didn't pay much anyway. He took a slime slaying task and a goblin subjugation task. There wasn't a rule saying that he couldn't take multiple tasks at the same time. Only, if he wasn't able to complete the task, he would have to pay a fee to the adventurer's guild.

Luckily, from what was written on the task paper, the goblins were also in the forest he had been to previously. As such, he would be able to hunt both the slimes and the goblins at the same time. There was also another kind of quests but they were either to help out in the city for a small payment or to collect herbs. However, he had a feeling that those herbs were the items mentioned by the system, the monster cultivation resources. He didn't want to take a task that would coincide with his purpose in coming into this world since it would slow him down.

As he made his way once again to the forest, he noticed that it had already been around three hours he had been in this world and he didn't feel an ounce of fatigue or feel hungry at all. While it was a bit weird, he figured it might be a little because of his excitement in completing tasks and being in another world, once again.

When he arrived at the forest this time, he didn't stay on the edge of the forest but started entering in the depth of the forest, the forest sparse trees made it easy for him to see all around him and prevent ambushes from befalling him. The goblins had the intelligence of a five or six years old child. As such, they could easily think about ambushing people and wouldn't necessarily just run at him a weapon in hand.

Of course, while walking in the forest, he didn't forget to use his identification skill as much as could to improve it's rank as soon as possible.

Soon after entering the forest, he met slimes and after using the identification skill, it was an extremely basic identification.

[Blue slime: The weakest monster in this world, the weak point is the core at the center of its body. It is weak to fire magic.]

After identifying it, it didn't take long taking care of it. After all, he had some experience in killing slimes. After collecting the core, he once again used the identification skill on it and he wasn't expecting this information at all.

[Blue slime's core: The core of a blue slime that supplies energy to its body. The slime's core is a basic monster cultivation resource which is useful for water element monsters.]

Identifying it, brought him two things to think about. The first one was that since there was a blue slime which was synonymous with water and the green slime which probably related to the earth element, was there a red and white slime for the fire and air element? Also, after thinking about it for a while, he understood that fire magic being useful against a blue slime which was of the water element most likely meant that even if there was water element in the core of the slime, it was extremely weak or the fire magic and the core should have been blocking each other. However, considering that a slime was the weakest monster of this world, it was understandable that it lost to fire magic.

Collecting the core, he continued to hunt down the slimes now that he found that the cores were used as monster cultivation resources. It pained him that he had killed ten slimes previously but had given them to the adventurer's guild to complete his task and that he had once again taken this task.

While the shop was important, he couldn't abandon the other quests and forced him to collect ten cores in order to complete his task at the adventurer's guild. Anyway, it wasn't like he couldn't buy some at some point. With Aurus understanding of the system, it would give him the best way to complete the system tasks. Just like the system had pushed him to become an adventurer since high ranked adventurers made a lot of money which meant he could buy a lot of cultivation resources without actually doing it himself which would save him a lot of time.

Weirdly enough, thinking about this gave him the sense of being a pioneer for the good of humankind of Arashina. At this time, Aurus was only humouring himself about being a pioneer. However, he didn't know that in the future, he would be regarded as a hero of humankind and as the strongest human being, the closest to becoming a god. Of course, it was a story for a later date.

The slimes in the forest were more numerous than the slimes on the edge of the forest and it didn't take much time to collect all ten slimes cores for the adventurers guild and for the others, he would immediately select them to enter the storage space of the system to bring back to the world of Arashina.

After collecting approximately twenty blue cores and twenty green cores of the green slimes which were indeed cores of the earth system, he finally saw one of the targets of the other adventurers' quest, an Oroshia herb.

[Oroshia herb: An herb used to make potions. A monster cultivation resource of the earth system. This herb helps the monster relax and heals small injuries.]

High fiving himself mentally for not accepting the task of gathering medicinal herbs from the adventurer's guild, he immediately collected the herb and sent it to the system's space.

Continuing his way towards the center of the forest, he finally saw the first goblin in his life. They were honestly even more disgusting than he thought they would be. Dark-green skin, long pointed teeth and sharp ears. Completely red eyes which seemed to be crazy and extremely long nails which almost seemed like claws. When the goblin was running towards him, Aurus didn't dare to enter face to face collision with this monster and slightly evaded from the left and with his sword, he slashed at the hip of the goblin. He had been training himself with the slimes who were attacking him when he didn't manage to kill them in one shot. They were going straight at him so every time he evaded from the left and slashed with the right hand. While it worked with the slimes, he wasn't sure that it was so for the goblins.

However, just as he was wondering whether it would work, the goblin shouted angrily with pain and turned around to attack him once again. His hip was bleeding however, the goblin didn't seem to care as he just jumped high trying to attack him from the top. However, subconsciously, Aurus lifted his sword and the goblin impaled himself. He was slowly dying as he fell to the ground in his blood.

Aurus possessed no sympathy whatsoever as the goblin attacked him first and it seemed to be extremely evil judging from its eyes. He used the identification skill to learn a little more about the goblins.

[Goblin: A Fairy-type monster that lives in forests or caves. They have the intelligence of five or six years old child and will attack anything that comes near or inside his territory.]

Seeing the identification, Aurus knew there was nothing worth mentioning on this goblin, no cultivation resource whatsoever. After taking back his sword and the goblin's left ear which was the proof of subjugation, he continued on his way. The further he was inside the forest, the more he was collecting slime's cores and herbs. He had luckily found another type of monster cultivation resources growing on a tree.

[Algae moss: A common herb in this world. A monster cultivation resource of the earth system. Upon eating it, the monster's body will be cleaned of some impurities and strengthen his cultivation. The effects are weak.]

While the effects were weak, at least they were a monster cultivation resource. In Arashina, cultivation resources were almost non-existent. As such, anything helpful for their monster would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, he could only find earth and water system cultivation resources and couldn't find any from the other systems but it was understandable since he was in a forest and that the water cultivation resources were only the cores from a blue slime.

Finally arriving at the center of the forest, he met around four goblins. His slaying task asked him to slay a total of fifteen goblins and with one down there were fourteen to go.
