Goblin variant?

Going back to his room, Aurus spread a towel over his bed and sat on it crossed legged. He knew that if he was right and that his cultivation indeed increased perfectly with the help of the system, a lot of black goo, just like the Ifeon, would squeeze out of his body.

Not wasting any more time, he opened the point icon and selected the cultivation rank bronze stage 1.

As he selected the increase in cultivation, his points decreased to 210. At the same time, an increasingly great feeling, as if he was being washed in a stream came over his entire body and while he had his eyes closed, his body expelled an incredible amount of black goo. The process didn't take more than five minutes as his skin turned the colour of bronze and the small scars he had on his body completely vanished.

A few seconds later as he opened his eyes and fully came back to consciousness, a disgusting odour invaded his nose as he got up and ran to the bathroom along with the towel he had used to keep his room clean.

Not wasting any more time, he jumped in the shower and started to wash. The black goo was incredibly disgusting and as he felt it get dissolved with the water and leaves the bathroom, he felt liberated. Looking at his body, his tan seemed to be deeper and the skin was incredibly hard and malleable.

When he left the shower, he didn't even bother to wash the towel and simply burned it off. It was so disgusting that he felt like there was no way to completely clean it off. Immediately going in the kitchen, he took a small knife and lightly tried to prickle himself. However, as he tried to break his skin to draw some blood, he noticed that he had to put a lot of force and the knife seemed to be stuck on his skin unable to continue.

Extremely happy with the discovery that the skin hardening had increased his defences so much, he prepared to leave for the other world. The previous time he had gone in, he had managed to rank up to E rank and this time, his tasks should be a little more interesting than hunting slimes and a few goblins.

Opening the point icon again to see the number of points necessary for the next upgrade, a total of 250 was asked. Following this pattern, he figured the third stage would be 500 points and the breakthrough to iron rank would be around one thousand points to bring him to the limit of the bronze rank, making perfect cultivation. At this point, he would have to only hunt down a beast and he would be able to rank up.

Going to his sister's room, he entered without knocking since he knew she was doing her homework and after seeing everything was fine he started talking to her.

"Laia, I'll be going now. I'll be back in around half an hour so be good and do your homework while I'm gone alright?"

"Alright, brother can you do my breakfast tomorrow as well?" Laia asked with hopeful eyes.

"No problem, is it still toasts with strawberries?" Aurus remembered there were still strawberries and he asked while stroking his sister's hair with a doting smile on his face.

"Yes!" She nodded quickly as a silly smile appeared on her face.

Every time such a smile appeared on Laia's face, he couldn't help to remember his dead sister. They were so much alike that it was hard for him to differentiate both of them, especially since they both had the same character. However, at the same time, he knew that he would feel extremely bad and would break down if something happened to her since they were so similar. He couldn't help but love this new sister as much as his real one.

Giving one last smile, he left the room and closed the door making his way to the shop. Unaware, behind him, Laia tilted her head wondering why she felt some sadness from Aurus who had just left her room. According to his imagination, she continued to do her homework.

Arrived at the shop floor, Aurus opened the world icon and clicked on the world of Ernia and a second later he disappeared from the room.

Arriving directly in the adventurers guild, as if nothing happened, he continued what he had been doing and looked at the various tasks.

[Goblin tribe slaying task: A new tribe of goblins have been spotted to the south of the city.

Objective: Destroy their nest and kill all of the goblins.

Reward: 20 silver coins for destroying the nest and killing all the goblins.]

[Mad wolfs slaying task: A group of mad wolves have been harassing citizens and merchants by attacking them. Their group his located in the south of the city.

Objective: Kill the group of mad wolves.

Reward: 30 silver coins]

'What is going on in the south of the city to have so many monsters? They should be hunted regularly but to have a tribe and a group of monsters, something must have happened. Well, it has nothing to do with me.'

Taking these two tasks, he brought them to the attendant who was tired of seeing him and after approval of the two tasks, he immediately left the guild and left the city right afterwards by the south gate.

While everything seemed fine, he had a major problem. He couldn't just bring his two bags of equipment with him when he went hunting and he couldn't leave them either.

Opening the point icon, hoping to find something useful, he looked in the special category.

Typing the kind of item he needed in the search bar, a few items appeared in front of him. Space magic, 500'000 points. System inventory, 50 points, every time you buy more system inventory slots, the price increases. Interspatial ring of ten cubic meters, 150 points.

Seeing the interspatial ring, he immediately bought it and wore it. With 60 points left he was quite depressed but soon was happy again. He wasn't sure if it was cheap or expensive but he knew that while the price was lower than the system space considering the size of the space in the ring, it was also possible to be stolen which made the system space a lot safer and worth the money. Maybe only around ten slots of system space would be the equivalent of the space ring but compared to the ring, one couldn't rob the system space.

Taking the equipment in the ring, he continued on his way towards the south where the goblins and wolves were said to be last seen.

Around two hours later, he finally found the mad wolf group. It wasn't easy as they built a nest for their group in a small ravine on the side of the road. Under normal circumstances, he would not find them but this time, he met a mad wolf bringing back prey to his nest. Although bringing back prey during the night was great and all, having waited to the morning, Aurus would have never found them.

Taking some time, he made some noises to the exterior of their nest. He knew from their records that mad wolves were extremely sensitive to noise. Knowing that he brought out an iron armour and placed it on the ground next to their nest. Following this he hid on the other side, prepared with his sword and threw some stones on the armours. While not extremely loud, it was more than enough to wake up a few wolves and bait them to the outside.

As the wolves came out one by one from their nests, Aurus managed to kill most of them. Unfortunately, not having expected another entry to their nest, hearing a current of wind and as he turned around, the mad wolf tried to stab him with its horn.

Indeed, tried to stab him. The mad wolves were gray in colour and approximately reached the height of Aurus hip. However, their horn on their head was sharp but decidedly less dangerous than their teeth and claws.

As the horn tried to pierce him, it was mostly blocked by his skin which had become extremely hard and malleable after the cultivation he had bought from the system. At the same time, he stabbed his sword in the throat of the last wolf and it died right away.

Collecting all the mad wolves corpses since he knew he could sell them to the adventurers guild, he continued on his way to another small cave a little further away.

As he looked at the forest and saw signs of goblins, he really couldn't understand why there were so many living so close to the city. Normally, such tasks would be completed right away since it was a threat to civilians and merchants.

However, not bothering to care about it, he made his way to their nest. It wasn't as complicated as before. Due to his increase in defence, goblins attacking with their claws and teeth would at most hurt a little without breaking the skin while the goblins with swords were few in numbers and since it was still night, he could easily take care of them.

Entering their cave without making a lot of sounds, he killed some goblins in their sleep and while some would fight back, they had no chance against him. While it was only his defence which increased a lot due to his cultivation, it was possible to stop most attacks at this level. At the same time, he had some experience fighting with a sword. Thanks to it, the goblins eradication was on the right track until a different goblin appeared.

This new goblin was taller than other goblins and seemed to have some experience wielding his weapon, a sword. Aurus, having killed most of the weaker goblins stood against a group of fifteen goblins including the taller one which seemed to be their leader.

The taller goblin gave what Aurus imagined to be an order as the fourteen goblins under its command immediately jumped at him. Feeling dread for the first time in this world, he regretted being so careless, entering the goblin's lair without any backup plans in case things went wrong.

At this time, he could only fight them face to face as they had already encircled him. Killing one or two of them would be possible while facing the other fourteen but in this case, he would be in trouble afterwards.

Looking around, he found a small fissure on the rock. Although it wasn't that deep, due to the location, goblins wouldn't be able to gang up on him and they would have to fight him one on one. Of course, in this case, if he didn't manage to kill all of them, he would be the one dying.

Focusing on the fissure, he ran towards a single goblin and immediately killed it with his sword while evading most of the blow. After all, these were the stronger goblins and he wouldn't be able to tell whether or not their attacks would break his skin.

Managing to kill one, he entered in the fissure and put his back to the wall, facing the goblins coming towards him.

Around ten minutes later, a pool of blood was under his feet as thirteen goblins were killed while he was fighting them one on one.

Finally, as the last goblin came over. Aurus could feel it's anger. It should probably be the anger against the death of his comrades but honestly, he wasn't sure at all.

Coming out of the fissure and storing the bodies of the goblins with a wave of his hand, he faced the last goblin, the tall one. While tired of the fight against them, he was also extremely excited about winning this fight. He had understood that this goblin should be the last one considering it wasn't calling any of its kin over and at the same time, this goblin should be worth some money.

In this world, for Aurus, money was a means to an end and the more he had obviously, the faster the store and himself would develop. Buying skills in this world and buying cultivation through the points the shop made back in the world of Arashina, he would increase his strength rapidly as long as he had money.

The tall goblin, jumped towards him and tried to stab him with his sword. Aurus evaded to the left and with his sword in his right hand, he tried to hurt him. Continuing the fight for over ten minutes and seeing that neither of them could take the advantage, Aurus decided to make a faint.

After pushing the goblin back, he backed off extremely quickly towards the exit of his nest. While retreating, he never gave his back to his enemy since he could be hurt and lose the battle because of it. He had already confirmed that no goblins were left after this long fight and he wasn't scared that a goblin would appear in his back.

Turning the corner, he made it seems like he had left but stayed close to the wall, holding his breathing and trying to calm down his beating heart.

Not five seconds later, the goblin ran and turned the corner. With his guard down, Aurus immediately stabbed his sword in his body and kicking it after the sword went across his entire body.

Finally killing the goblin who was extremely strong, he made his way deeper in the cave. Last time he had killed a goblin tribe, he had received some loot and this time he hoped to get something even better.

That's true that without the fourteen goblins to tire him out before the fight against the tall goblin, he would have had an easier fight but it was the goblins advantages and he had to prepare for such situations in the future
