Buying a skill?

After confirming that all of the goblins were dead, he made his way to the end of the cave.

While searching for treasures in their lair, he collected the goblins' bodies since they still had some worth and the guild would buy them from him.

At the very end of the cave were the treasures collected by the goblins. He honestly didn't understand why they always hid them as far as possible in their lair but it was quite easy to find. Collecting all of the armours and weapons lying everywhere in the goblins treasure room, he looked for some coins which he also collected. Unfortunately, he also found three adventurers ID. Taking them, he placed it in the ring and decided to bring it back to the guild.

By the time he was done with the extermination tasks of both the mad wolves and the goblins, the sun was starting to show up.

Not wasting any more time, Aurus went back to the city and completed his task at the adventurers guild.

"Hi, I would like to report the completion of my two tasks." The attendant looked up when she heard Aurus and she reluctantly got up from her seat and answered him.

"To confirm the task completion, I need to see the proof of the death of the monsters." The attendant seemed even more tired than when he had last seen her a few hours back.

Aurus nodded and moved towards the monster corpses selling area. The adventurers guild had created such a space since the bodies would sometimes still have blood in them and if they just left them on the floor then it would be quite a task to clean up the adventurers guild.

As he made the corpses appear out of fin air, the attendant, for the second time of the night, felt her fatigue disappear.

"Did you just use space magic?" The attendant was clearly very surprised since it was a rare type of magic. Of course, he used the interspatial ring but he wouldn't tell her that since space magic was a good excuse for it.

Smiling a little at the attendant, he changed the subject and came back to the completion of the task.

The attendant seeing him not willing to answer just did her job and went to the monster's corpses.

"Right, by the way, my name is Jane. Considering you worked all night, we will probably meet again later." Looking at her in doubt, he understood that she meant she worked night shift these days and they would probably meet in the future again.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Aurus." Shaking her hands, they went back to the monster corpses.

Normally, when one published a slaying task, the guild had some information such as the number of monsters the adventurer had to slay as well as some information such as some of the characteristics of the monsters. Afterwards, when the task was completed, the guild would use this information to confirm whether or not the task had indeed been completed. Of course, there were also other ways to complete a task, such as bringing the corpses or a part of their corpses as proof. The guild had developed a near-perfect system to be sure of the task had indeed been completed.

As Jane looked through the monster's bodies, she was surprised deep inside that Aurus had managed to kill all of those monsters by himself. Normally, this would be a task taken by a few adventurers. Of course, she didn't know that Aurus had almost lost his life against the last few goblins.

Finally, as she was about to complete the review of the goblin tribe slaying task, Jane exclaimed out loud. Breaking out of his reverie, he looked at the monster she was currently impacting. It was the tall monster, the one he thought could be a variant of the goblin.

As she got up from inspecting the corpse, she turned to look at Aurus and asked: "Are you really the one who fought this hobgoblin and killed it?"

"Huh? Hobgoblin? Isn't it a goblin variant?" Aurus was stunned hearing that he had killed a hobgoblin.

Jane, not bothering about Aurus being stunned about hearing of his own feat, continued on. "Normally, only D grade adventurers would fight hobgoblins and they would fight in a team. After all, a hobgoblin can order those all the goblins and would have some guards with him at all times."

As she explained the situation of the hobgoblins, she was surprised that Aurus as an E rank adventurer managed to kill the entire tribe of goblins alone when there was a hobgoblin in the tribe. According to the information the guild had previously received, no hobgoblins would be present in this tribe or the task would be upgraded to D rank.

As she was thinking of this, Aurus interrupted her. "Can you finish the task completion procedures? I will continue to do tasks for a while afterwards."

"Ha yes! However, since there was a hobgoblin present, the task will probably be ranked higher than it was so you should receive a higher reward. If you don't mind waiting for a few hours, I'll talk with the guild master and he should accept to give you a higher reward."

Hearing her words, he looked at the world icon and accepted her proposition. Anyway, he still had around five hours left in this world and he would have time to receive his rewards before the time was up.

Taking a few tasks and confirming with Jane, he left the adventurers guild and went to complete these tasks.

Just before leaving, he remembered the adventurer's ID's he had found in the lair and gave them to Jane before turning away without saying anything. He was sure she would understand why he gave her the ids.

---

Three and a half hours later, he came back to the guild. At this time, adventurers were already in the guild looking at tasks to take for the day.

Aurus went to the counter and noticed that the attendant was still there. Not bothering to go to the others, he directly went to Jane and gave the tasks he had completed to Jane to confirm.

He had taken a total of two other tasks after the two from the goblin's tribe and the mad wolves. This time, the tasks were cleared easily as the reward was a little less but the difficulty was clearly less. He had fought with goblins once again but this time there were around forty of them and there weren't any evolved ones. For the second task, he had to clear the monsters from the road to the lake. The small lake was merely half a kilometre from the city and there were only seven monsters with most of the slime.

While the second task was easy, he could have met stronger monsters which were the reason why the task was ranked as E and not F rank.

Aurus then went to the monster corpses selling area and left the monsters there for Jane to verify them. This station wasn't necessarily to sell monsters but most of the time it was the case so they named this station the monster corpses selling area.

Jane quickly counted the monster's bodies and confirmed the completion of both tasks after Aurus explained to her that there were very few monsters on the way to the lake and he had killed them all.

While Aurus received his rewards for both tasks, he also sold the monster corpses he had brought back along with those quests.

"Right, the guild master arrived about an hour ago and I explained the situation to him. He accepted to increase the reward for the task since there was a hobgoblin in the group. The original reward was twenty silver coins but he increased the reward to ninety due to the errors of the guild and the higher-ranked task. Along with the mad wolf slaying task of thirty silver coins, there is a total of a gold coin and twenty silver coins."

Getting excited, Aurus nodded and received his reward which had already been prepared.

After completing the hand over of his tasks, he still had an hour and a half left in this world. Counting the time, he immediately went outside the guild and went to the nearest blacksmith shop. Since most adventurers were fighting with warriors instead of mages, the business was good for the blacksmiths located near the adventurers guild.

Five minutes later he entered the blacksmith shop. The air in the shop was extremely hot and he could hear the sound of a hammer hitting metal in the back of the shop.

Stopping at the counter, he made a sign to the worker of the shop and he made his way to Aurus.

"Hi sir, what can I do for you today?"

"Hi, I would like to sell some weapons and armours which I collected in my tasks."

"Yes, please come with me with the equipment. We will evaluate the equipment and offer a price for it."

Following the worker to a small room near the counter, Aurus made the equipment appear using the interspatial ring. Honestly, Aurus wasn't scared of using this function in the eyes of others as there was space magic that could do the same. While this magic was rare, it wasn't non-existent so there were no problems.

The worker had wide eyes seeing this rare magic but he started to work and was soon attracted to the different pieces of equipment.

After a while, he turned to Aurus and said: "For the 24 pieces of armour and 27 weapons, we can offer a total of 1 gold coin and 37 silver coins."

Aurus was pleasantly surprised as he would be able to buy a skill for himself and some monster cultivation materials to bring back to the shop. After the point icon was released from the system, he had started to understand the importance of the materials he brought back. After all, more materials to sell, more points which meant he could buy a higher cultivation and even heal his mother after a while.

"Yes, thank you." Aurus quickly accepted the price offered by the blacksmith shop and collected his money before going back to the adventurers guild. There were currently 45 minutes left before he was forcibly sent back to the world of Arashina. As such, he started to hasten his steps.

Previously, Aurus had verified the location to buy skills and upon entering the guild, he immediately went to the stairs going to the second floor.

Upon arriving on the second floor, a huge amount of orbs were placed on the walls and were all protected by different magics. He could see the description of every spell located on the walls along with the price of said skill.

From the first day he had entered this world, he had already decided which kind of skill he wanted to buy first. So, he went directly to that category on the wall and looked at the skills sold.
