Dungeon cleared

After the blood-sucker rabbit was successfully ranked up, the crowd dispersed and a little bit before lunch, they all left.

Aurus was obviously pleased since he didn't need to warn anyone about the shop's closing. He went upstairs and prepared lunch for himself and gave some food to both Zaya and Laia's contracted beast.

After eating, before going back to the store, he sat down and looked outside from the second floor. He had obviously noticed that he was more irritable after the last battle he had fought in. He understood that his way to see the world had changed. Previously, he had fought and hated monsters just because he was told they were the enemies of humanity. However, this time, after seeing how they treated humankind, no matter in which world, he knew they were the enemies and he would exterminate them. Seeing the three girls having been abused and hearing their wish to die when they could have lived, struck Aurus like a truck.

Moreover, after the massacres he had committed the previous day, he remembered having been sad and disgusted by what he had done. However, from the second massacre, he had clearly felt less.

"Monsters are the enemies, they are fighting and killing humans at this very moment. While humans are the same and fight them, the beasts are the enemies. I will kill them." Whispering to himself while looking beyond the walls of the city, Aurus slowly accepted what he had done and convinced himself that it was fine.

Staying there for another twenty minutes, having calmed down, he went back downstairs and opened the doors of the shop. He decided that he would get the attendants for the shop that same night. He felt it was fine to help customers from time to time but in reality, he wanted to increase his strength. He wanted to prevent such tragedies from happening again as much as he could. He wouldn't call himself a hero since he honestly didn't care for most of humanity but at least, he wanted to be strong enough to mow down everything in his path.

With a clear direction for his future, he knew he would at the same time have a clearer understanding of the system in the future. He had no idea why he was sent into this world but he knew that the more tasks he completed and the more he worked with the system's icons, the more he would understand the goal of the system. And thus, the reason for his existence in this world.

In the afternoon, he had no problems with any customers but the high number of customers used all of his time and he had no time to train with his sword mastery and his mana manipulation. After a fight the previous night, he had noticed both his sword mastery had upgraded to SSS rank and mana manipulation skill had upgraded to SS rank and he knew he wasn't that far from SSS rank. He didn't know what was after this rank, but he knew something would happen. As for his other skills, the shadow step had increased to A rank and his identification skill didn't change and was still B rank.

After the previous fight, he knew that he would have to buy new skills in the adventurers guild. He couldn't continue to fight with this small amount of skills as more diversities would help a lot.

As he closed the door of the shop and Laia came back home, she directly went to see her beast and completely ignore Aurus who had just opened the door. Smiling as if mocking himself, Aurus went back to the second floor and cooked dinner for himself and Laia. He didn't forget the small portion of food for Laia's contracted beast and Zaya's resources.

After dinner, it was time to go back to the dungeon to finish the work he had started. Bringing Zaya along with him, he confirmed that no monsters were left on the fifteenth floor of the dungeon and he started going back up. On the fourteenth floor, the thirteenth and twelfth floor, there were no monsters left as he had already slaughtered all of them.

It was necessary to kill all of the monsters in the dungeon at a fast speed. After all, the dungeon would block all the monsters in the dungeon for a total of seven days. However, after those seven days, the monsters would be free to leave and cause bloodshed everywhere on the land. As such, humans had to block the entrance after seven days or kill everything in the dungeon within this time. It was obvious Aurus was aiming to kill every monster since it would give him a large amount of monetary reward and would increase his completed quests in the C rank. It was already certain that he would be promoted after taking down the dungeon.

On the eleventh floor, he killed everything on the floor. He was lucky to have unlocked the map skill after having conquered the dungeon. The map at the F rank could only record where he had been by creating a three-dimensional map in front of him. However, it wouldn't tell where he was or any other information. He would have to upgrade the skill to have more information.

However, the map skill at F rank was good enough for Aurus as he made sure to kill every single monster on a floor before moving to the next one. He had lost all sort of compassion for the beasts and was now exterminating them as if they were insects. His eyes were cold and he had no emotions on his face as he slaughtered everything in his path. This was his goal. To be able to mow down everything in his path.

Quickly clearing the eleventh floor, he went up to the tenth floor and continued his slaughter. With Zaya next to him, helping him kill every beast and using mana manipulation to collect the corpses and put them in his ring, he soon had to buy another rung as there wasn't enough space in his. Luckily, they were quite cheap.

Arriving on the fifth floor, he heard voices coming from afar and he knew that some adventurers had come back in the dungeon. After all, he had been in the dungeon for around twelve hours and considering the time, it was about time they started hunting the monsters once again. As such, he called Zaya back and continued to hunt down the beasts alone.

He didn't mind if they saw Zaya but honestly, he didn't want too much trouble for the time being. In a month or so, he would be able to let other people see Zaya as they wouldn't link her to the group which had lost the phoenix previously.

Saluting some of the adventurers in the dungeon, he continued to kill all of the beasts and finally made his way to the surface. At this point, everyone knew that the dungeon had been cleared as there were no new monsters in the dungeon.

Aurus sees the adventurers cheering left to Coblue city to confirm the conquest of the dungeon and receive all of his rewards.

Of course, the adventurers were happy as this meant that there would be fewer monsters on the outside of the dungeon and in the wild near their city. As for having less prey? They didn't think of this at all as there were more dungeons in the surroundings. It was only that those dungeons didn't release beasts which were better for the city.

As he arrived at the adventurer's guild, he simply went to the counter and talked with Goran who was waiting for adventurers to come.

"Hey Goran, I conquered the dungeon. What are the rewards?" Said Aurus while smiling lightly.

"Huh? You really conquered it? Did you get the dungeon core? It's necessary to have it to prove that you conquered the dungeon." Goran was shocked but still did his job perfectly and asked the right questions without looking down on him.

"Yes, it's here." Aurus took out the core of the dungeon and presented it to Goran who took a small item and compared it with something.

While he had no idea what Goran was comparing it with, he knew it would be some kind of reading on the mana waves or something. It was most likely to be sure that the core was really linked with the dungeon.

Confirming that it was indeed the right dungeon core, Goran stood up excitedly and said while turning around: "Give me a minute, I will go and give the news to the guild master."

Goran knew that the monsters which left the dungeon had been causing great stress to the guild master. After all, a lot of people died due to the monsters and as the guild master, it was necessary to do everything he could to kill the monsters and take down the dungeon.

A few minutes later, Goran walked down the stairs with another man. The man seemed completely ordinary but seeing how Goran was leading the way, Aurus understood that the old man was the guild master, the only C rank adventurer in the city.

The old man went directly to Aurus and with a smile on his face, he exclaimed: "Young man, you are indeed good! Managing to take down the entire dungeon by yourself is not a feat accomplished by many. Seeing that you proved the conquest of the dungeon, you will obviously be rewarded and your rank will increase to C rank. Normally, to increase to C rank, it is necessary to do some tests but in such circumstances where you took down a dungeon by yourself, the tests are not necessary."

The old man obviously knew what to say. Indeed, an adventurer would rarely be interested in anything else than their own rank and monetary rewards when coming to the guild. As such, he didn't bother Aurus too much and merely congratulated and thanked him before going back to his office. He probably had to write a few letters and spread the news.

As he walked back upstairs, Aurus and Goran went back to the counter and they started to put everything in order.
