Hidden Secret

Jess woke up hearing something screaming from afar. Jess perked up as she quickly got out of bed running to the source of noise. She was lead to a different door. One she hadn't opened yet. She placed her hand on the door knob. At that moment she felt eyes on her. She glanced over to see the 12 year old boy staring at her while peeking his head in the corner. She noticed he had fresh tears on his cheek. Jess looked back at the door hearing the screaming dying down.

'He said they were hunting. Could that be an animal down there? It doesn't sound like an animal though...'

She slowly turned the doorknob ready to pull when a familiar hand was placed over her mouth. Her eyes widen as her heart jolted.

"Do you have a death wish?" The voice asked.

Jess felt tears building up as she was already warned once. Now... He was going to stick to his promise. She softly wept in his hand. She felt a hand on hers feeling a sharp tug. She was guided toward the corner where she saw the little boy. She saw the boy curled up in a ball crying and covering his ears. Jess looked up at the older boy seeing he was still covered her mouth.

"I warned you... You didn't listen."

Jess cried more as she began to shake.

"He's dead because of you." He spat.

She looked up at the boy seeing he was clearly angry.

'Dead? Who?'

"He saw Tyler leave your room this morning...Now..." He chocked up.

Jess's eyes widen. "Wait.. What?" She muffled.

The boy glared daggers at her.

"I fucking told you to not talk to us. I told you and you didn't listen."

Jess couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"He's... Dead?" She muffled.

He nudged his head toward the door.

"You know what you heard. Your lucky I stopped you."

"He....killed the boy?"

He nodded.

Jess broke down into ugly tears as he didn't uncover her mouth making sure she could barely be heard.

"You should have never come here...He would still be alive."

"I'm so sorry.. I."

"Don't you dare apologize. I warned you, but yet.. You didn't listen."

"He was crying last night. How could I not comfort him?"

"You what?" He asked while unmuffling her with his hand.

"I..... heard him crying. He was scared of the thunder. I sang him a lullaby to sleep. Then he gave me an apple this morning to thank me."

"He wasn't crying because the storm, he was crying because the bastard cut his fucking finger off and fed it to you." He blurted out.

Jess was stunned by the words.

"W-What?"

"Why do you think we don't eat?"

Jess grew sick as she remembered she ate breakfast.. and now that she thought about it.. it was... ALL MEAT. She felt her mouth sweat as she quickly ran to the bathroom while throwing up in the toilet seeing all her breakfast came out. She threw up until she felt her stomach was completely empty. She flushed the toilet wishing she knew what exactly she ate.

'W-Wait...'

She looked back at the boy. She slowly walked up to him.

"What did I eat this morning exactly?"

He looked away as if he didn't want to answer.

"Please.. tell me it... wasn't..." She cried out with heavy tears coming.

He simply nodded with a tear falling from his face.

Jess fell on her knees.

"T-Tyler... He.... He didn't deserve this." She cried out.

The boy remained silent.

"We need to get out of here." She said desperately.

"Don't you get it. We are all stuck here. Me and my brother have been here for 2 months. Do you realized how many children he had here and now there is only me, Ike, Blake and now.. You."

"But he said.."

"Your leaving Sunday? Ha, tell me how that goes."

She looked down at the little boy still crying.

"We will get out of here."

He rolled his eyes.

"You really have a death wish don't you?"

"No I don't, I have the complete opposite. I have hope unlike you. There has to be SOME way to get out of here."

"Okay Mrs. Know It All, hit me with any solutions."

"Okay, the door."

"Passcode with voice command."

"Windows."

"Alarms are triggered when opened."

"Chimney?"

"Be realistic." He groaned.

"Okay... what about..."

"There's no use. You can throw anything at me and I'll shut it down. Face the truth. You will die here just like the rest if us."

Jess thought for a second.

"It can't be like this. This monster can't win... Not after everything he has done.. I'll come up with something but.. In the mean time I have to play it off as if I don't know what's going on."

"Do what you want but don't talk to my brother. If he dies because of you... You'll have me to worry about. He's already lost enough." He growled.

Jess tensed feeling a dark vibe from him. She looked down at the boy as he was looking up at her. She looked up at the older boy. "What do you mean?"

The teen looked at her. "Why do you think he doesn't speak? It's because he can't. Check the fucking kitchen. You'll see what this sick fucker does to us."

Jess tensed.

'The tongue... Oh my god!'

"I'm so sorry." She cried out.

The teen said nothing.

"Where's the other boy?"

"Hiding. He doesn't want to be next. Smart move, I would say."

Jess looked down seeing tears fall on the floor.

"I don't care what you say. I will find a way for you all to get out."

"I know your just talking from your ass because you feel bad that Tyler's death is all your fault."

Jess gritted her teeth in anger. "No I'm not, When it comes down to it I will save you three.. even if it costs me my own."

The boy rolled his eyes. "Come on Ike. Let's go." He said while glaring at the girl and grabbing his brother's hand.

Jess watched the two walk in a dark room. Sadness consumed her body as she thought back on last night.

'Everything's fine in the morning

The rain will be gone in the morning

But I'll still be here in the morning'

Jess covered her mouth feeling her eyes burning with violent tears forming.

'It's all my fault.. I... Killed him..'
