Bright and elegant looking lights greeted me as I enter the venue of our reunion after the host announced my arrival at the venue. This isn't only our class reunion but our batch reunion. Students that weren't in the same class as me but on the same batch as mine can be found in every corner of the place. Yeah, this place is full of high school bullies, plastic kind of people, and gossipmongers.
As I walk towards the table that has our class's name, a few eyes are focused on me. I do not want to get any attention that's why I tried my very best not to be late but so far, everything isn't doing very well for me.
I couldn't contact Noah since yesterday so I have to go here alone. It's better to be here alone than back out because the day before yesterday, our class president went to my office to confirm if I am going or if I didn't change my mind. Here I am, alone for tonight and the center of attraction since I am the only one who is alone tonight.
"There Braelle is!" I heard the class president say as she saw me walking towards our table. It seems like I am their topic before I arrived.
"Uh, hi guys," I greeted them as I reach the table that was reserved for us.
"Oh, Hi, Braelle. Where's your boyfriend?" One of my classmates asked. Seriously? That's the first thing they asked me the moment I reached our table.
"I don't really know where he is right now but what I know is that he's busy as of the moment so he can't come," I answered. I honestly don't know where Noah is but I think he's busy. Uh, but he isn't really my boyfriend…
"He's busy or you just don't have a boyfriend?" Our class vice president asked. She was the first person who bullied and made fun of me before. The others just followed her.
"I have a boyfriend but he's busy," I answered.
"No, you don't," she said firmly. Her friends are just watching us as we exchange words.
"I said, I have a boyfriend."
"LIAR," she said with emphasis.
"No, I'm not. He's really busy."
"I said, you don't."
"Why don't you believe me? I have a boyfriend," I asked frustratedly. I really don't know where this small talk is going.
"Prove it. Make him come here," she said adamantly.
"I told you, he's busy!"
"Call him," she slowly said but with emphasis.
I don't know what to do anymore. If I try calling Noah and he doesn't pick up, they'll surely make fun of me. But if I don't call him and insist that he can't come because he's busy, then they will not believe me. What should I do?
"Am I late?" A cold voice said that made us turn to the owner even before I can call Noah.
"Noah?!" I asked. There's Noah in the middle of the venue, wearing a three-piece black suit that suits him very well.
"There you are. Hey, baby!" He said as before kissing me on the lips the moment he came next to me.
"I thought you're busy? Why are you here?"
"I wouldn't miss this event for you."
"Anyway, this is my boyfriend, Noah Castellane. Noah, these girls are my classmates in high school," I introduced.
"Noah Castellane? As in Noel Orion Archimedes Harrison Castellane?" Our class president asked. I didn't know that Noah's name is that long not until now. Noah nodded as a response to our class president's question.
"This is impossible," our class vice president said unbelievingly.
"See? I told you," I said and winked at them. I am already laughing at their reaction deep in me.
"So how's Braelle being an uptight and virgin girlfriend?" One of the bullies in high school asked that made me roll my eyes on her.
"She's the best. She isn't uptight like how you described her, you know?" Noah said and slightly shrugged his shoulder.
"Oh? Is that so?" The only words she answered.
"Yes, and please, don't insist to him that I am an uptight nor a virgin like how you describe me in high school because I am not. Not anymore," I said. I am starting to get really annoyed at her.
"I was just asking. What's wrong with that?" Oh, I know how they love gossips. Especially if that gossip is about me. How I hate these gossipmongers.
"You know, there's nothing wrong with that. Some men like to have a taste then leave." Then the class vice president shrugged her shoulders.
"Are you saying that he'll eventually leave me?' I raised my brown on her.
"I didn't say that." But isn't that what she was pointing out?
"Well, FYFI and that's for your fucking information, I am already his fiance," I showed her the ring on my ring finger which isn't really an engagement ring. "And we are already expecting our first child!" I added frustratedly. All of their eyes widened in shock, including Noah's. That's when I realized what I said. Shit. Wrong move, Braelle. Wrong move.
