Reyna looked shocked. She kept opening and closing her mouth like a goldfish, as if she had something to say, but couldn't remember it.
"I understand you are looking for us, no?" I asked her.
"The one person I would never have thought was the Fairy Queen, of course is the Queen herself. I have the world's worst luck." She finally said.
I smiled at her words.
"I have a question. Why did I pass out in the forest the other day? And don't try to tell me you didn't know, because I know you did." She asked me, her voice rising a little.
"It was the spell of a dark fairy. They use them to hunt unsuspecting humans, and switch them for changelings." I explained.
"Mhm. What happened to my uncle? Was he taken by those dark fairy thingies too?" She asked me.
"No, I'm sorry to say, but he died of old age shortly before you came. He got a vision of you coming here on your journey, in his dreams right before he died, so he wrote the instruction letters for you." I told her.
Reyna's eyes watered.
"He- he was like a second father to me. He was always so nice to me. Wait a minute. He was younger than my father! How could he have died of old age!?" She practically screamed at me
"He was hit by a spell that made him age ten years per day 'till he died. Dark fairies did it for fun." I told her, trying to calm her down.
Reyna sat down in the grass, crying.
I sat down beside her, and put my arm around her for comfort. She turned to me and hugged me tight.
"Why are you so nice to me?" She sobbed.
"Because I know how it feels to lose someone you love." I said, my heart breaking all over again, as my memories flooded my mind.
I noticed that Reyna had fallen asleep in my embrace, so I gently levitated her to her bedroom, set her down on the bed, and closed the door when I left the room.
I went to my own room in the attic, laid down on the bed, and let my memories flood my mind.

"Lykfilia, run. Run and do not turn your back until you're safe!"
Those were the last words I heard from my parents before the forest burned to the ground. I did as they said though, and I flew away as fast as I could.
My eyes were full of tears as I sped away from the remains of the once beautiful forest.
I was going so fast, I didn't notice what was in front of me, until I collided with something, hard. I looked up to see a girl, not much older than me. At least, biologically. She held me tightly as she asked me what was wrong.
I stopped sobbing for a second to look her in the eyes, and tell her everything.
She smiled at me- wait were those fangs? 'Oh no, she's a demon, this is it, this is where I die, I thought.
As if she read my mind, she said to me,
"Don't worry, everything is going to be alright. Just come with me, and we'll be able to help you out."
We? I thought. Then, where's the other?
"We reside in a safehouse not far away from here. I'll take you there so you can heal properly, not just a simple pollen healing process that doesn't help internal bleeding."
Then she grabbed my arm tight, and started flying again. I just sped along, and soon we started to slow down as well as descending the flight. We came to a stop in front of a small wooden cabin, and she knocked on the door. Knock. Pause. Three knocks. Pause. Three knocks from the inside. Pause. Knock. Wait.
The door opened, revealing a male, not much older than the girl. Again, only biologically.
"You've brought a fairy home? So soon after Lucifer, eh? He said with a small chuckle at the end.
"Shut up Leviathan, nobody asked for your opinion." The girl chuckled as well. "Lykfilia, meet Leviathan. The single most irritating idiot in the world." She said.
Leviathan turned to me.
"Hey there. I see you've met Spectre, the most sarcastic person in Araycien." He smiled, and then Spectre hit him.
They started playfully arguing about something, and all I could think about was that smile.
That damned smile.
