Wherever You Go, I Will Follow ~ Sirius

I honestly don't get why we had to follow that guy, Leviathan, from the tavern. I mean, yeah, the guy is one of the Holy Trio, but that doesn't mean we have to murder the man for no reason. But then again, Stradivarius is a bit messed in the head.

As we silently followed the path in the sand, not saying a word in case they would hear us. I started to regret my life choices, and asking myself why I joined the Knights of Ice in the first place. I mean, I got offers from all over Araycien, even from Worthwood's knight order, the Godsends. That is the highest you'll ever get in the ranks of knight orders.

But I had wanted to stay at home, in Euthoria, with Reyna, and friendzone myself forever.

I was dragged out of my thinking when Stradivarius shook me.

"See over there?" He pointed in the direction ahead of us. "They're not so far away, and they seem to be headed to Wintermount, where the White Helm once was."

"And that matters because...."

"Don't be silly. The White Helm was a tavern, run by the Holy Trio at the time. I heard a rumor that it has been moved closer to Worthwood though, on the other side of Geneva." Stradivarius explained everything to me.

We moved closer and closer to the three unfortunate travellers, and soon we could hear every word they said.

"Okay guys, I'm gonna have to break up this adorable moment to tell you that there's a storm on it's way here, so we need to hurry up." Reyna said to them, not knowing about us yet, until Stradivarius spoke up.

"Not so fast Videns," He said. "I have something to settle first."

The three of them turned around, trying to find the source of the voice. The only illumination in the dark were the fairy's staff and wings, and Leviathans eyes.

"Oh no." Reyna breathed out next to me, not knowing that I was there.

Lyka looked rather confused, as she hadn't met us before.

"Not you again." Levi scowled.

Thunder crackled in the distance as lightning struck close by, lighting up the area, revealing Stradivarius standing in front of Leviathan, who quickly unsheathed his swords and took a protective stance in front of the girls. He, nor the girls seemed to know of my presence.

Stradivarius opened his mouth to speak, but Leviathan was quicker.

"I thought you might have learned something from the last time we met." He said, obviously taunting Stradivarius for some unknown reason. "I mean, your attack was so weak, I dodged it by sidestepping."

"Oh you think you're so good, don't you?" Stradivarius chuckled. "Well, then it's a good thing I didn't come alone. Sirius?"

"Yes?" I said from behind Reyna and the fairy.

"Be a good child and keep the women out of fighting range, I fear this might get ugly."

"Whatever." I said, pulling the fairy and Reyna to the side.

Stradivarius spoke again.

"You know the rules of a classic duel, right?"

"Classic duel according to which race? Because I'm pretty sure us demons duel a lot differently than humans, seeing as we are immortal and we heal a lot faster." Leviathan said, a crazy grin etched upon his face.

"We duel on the challengers terms, any good dueller knows this. But then again, aren't you a disgrace to the demon clan?"

I swear, Leviathan looked as if he might kill Stradivarius right there and then.

"Stradivarius, is this absolutely necessary?" I asked. "We could just take Reyna back to Euthoria and leave these two to their own business."

"Watch and learn boy." And then, swiftly, he threw a knife at Leviathan, who clearly wasn't expecting it. He didn't duck in time, and the knife buried itself in his shoulder.

Leviathan howled in pain as the knife burned the inside of the wound, as it was silver on one side, and bronze to the other. The fairy screamed out his name, and ran to his side before I could stop her.

Stradivarius took a step towards them, unsheathing his sword.

"Get out of my way girl." He said to the fairy, in a threatening tone.

"No." It was barely audible because of Leviathan thrashing around in pain, but it was enough for Stradivarius to hear.

"What did you say?"

"I said, no. There is no way that I, Lykfilia Chevalier, former queen of the fairy forest Thatchstone, will step aside and let you murder my friend. You already cheated on his rights of duelling, by not letting him know when it begun."

"Listen up girl. If you don't step aside right now-" he was interrupted by a person, who seemed to have appeared out of thin air.

"No, you listen here, you fucking bastard, I don't care who you are, but that is no way to adress a queen."

And with that said, the person hit Stradivarius on the back of his head with the hilt of something that appeared to be a short sword.

Stradivarius collapsed, dropping his sword in the process.

"Who are you?" Lykfilia asked them.

"There will be a time for introductions later, right now we need to get Leviathan somewhere he can lay properly, because that is a double-edged knife, specifically made for demon hunting."

I finally let go of Reyna, and she rushed to Lykfilia's side.

The person continued talking.

"Alright Leviathan, can you hear me? Levi, can you hear me?"

Leviathan nodded.

"Okay, for this, it's best if I put you to sleep, is that okay?"

He nodded again.

"Good. Relaxat, somno, surgere donec requiem tibi." Leviathan dozed off, comatose until woken up.

"Alright, Lykfilia? You're gonna need help on this. You, girl, when she takes the knife out of his shoulder, you need to cover and press on the wound with a cloth, okay? And you need to keep the pressure for a while. Understood?"

"Yes we understand."

"Then do it."

"Wait, what will you be doing?"

"I'll be opening a portal to a safe place. Now do it! Before the enchantment wears off!"

Reyna counted to three, and on three, Lykfilia whipped the knife out of the wound. As soon as she did so, Reyna put the cloth on top of it, and added pressure to stop the bleeding.

The person, who we still don't know who is, managed to open a portal, and was now struggling to keep it open.

"Get him through here, I'll tell you where to go afterwards." They said, and Reyna and Lykfilia picked Leviathan off the ground and stumbled through the portal.

That's when Stradivarius woke up.

He stood up, picked his sword off the ground, and went for the person holding the portal open. Stradivarius started to swing his sword at them, but they dodged it well. I decided that it was time for me to step in. I stepped in between of them, and told Stradivarius to back off. At first, he didn't, but he eventually did, hesitantly. After he backed off, he asked,

"Now Sirius, aren't you coming back with me?"

I hesitated. I'd always looked up to this man, but his recent actions were a big downgrade in the respect I had for him. I looked at the person still holding the portal open, and they looked up, for the first time ever.

"You can follow the girl if you want to, just make a decision within, five minutes, because that's when I close the portal." They said to me, in a low voice.

I thought about it for a while, and I made my decision. "I'm sorry Stradivarius." I said, and followed through the portal, and the person shortly after me.
