I Need Answers ~ Reyna

I wonder what Spectre did to Sirius, because since he hasn't been himself since they came back from training. He's been avoiding me a lot more than usually, and he barely talks to me. He's also spending a lot of time with Spectre and Leviathan, and every time I ask about it he just tells me it's training. I can tell Lykfilia is slightly worried as well, because Leviathan hasn't been willing to tell her about it either.

Whenever he comes in late, he just looks exhausted and goes straight downstairs to sleep, and he still won't tell me what it is they're doing.

"Hey Reyna, whatcha thinking about?" Lykfilia asked me as she walked towards the table I was sitting at.

"Nothing much." I replied, not wanting to look at her.

"Lies. Try again Reyna, what's bothering you?" She asked again.

I kept staring out the window, hoping she'd get the point and leave me alone.

"It's Sirius, isn't it." She asked me, her tone a bit different. It was more exhausted, and a bit annoyed? I couldn't exactly tell.

I stayed silent, tears now forming in my eyes. Finally, I broke down.

"I just don't know what to do Lyka, I'm worried about him. I'm worried that one time, he won't come back from wherever he is, because something happened to him!" I cried out.

Lykfilia put one of her hands on my back, as a way of comforting me.

"Reyna, listen for a second." She started. "When I first met them, I was the same. I was constantly worried that they wouldn't come back from night patrol, or they were fatally injured somewhere in the battlefields around us." She took a deep breath. "Eventually, I realized they can both take good care of themselves and they always have each other's backs." She sighed. "But I do wish occasionally they'd tell me what the heck they're doing..." she muttered.

I chuckled. "So it's not just me being paranoid?"

"No. It's not just you." She said, smiling wide. "Besides, you have so much control over Sirius. If you want to know, just ask him. I'm sure he'll tell you."

When Sirius finally came home, I immediately walked up to him, and dragged him away to someplace private. I got a look of hope from Lyka, but Spectre just weirdly side-eyed me.

When we got to Sirius's 'room' I turned around to face him. He was standing in the doorway, scratching his neck akwardly.

"So. What did you want?" He asked me.

"I want- no, I need answers. What have you been doing, where have you been going, why are you ignoring me-" he cut me off.

"Hold up, hold up. Why do you wanna know so much Reyna? What does it matter to you what I do in my spare time?" He replied coldly.

"Because! You're my best friend, and every time you go out, I'm worried sick that you won't return back! I'm just curious about what you're doing with them." I half-shouted at him.

"Really?" He replied.

"Yes, really!"

"Aw Reyna, you don't need to be worried. I'm usually with Spectre and Leviathan, you know them, they'd probably die before letting anything happen to anyone else. I'm not always with them though and when I'm not, I'm just taking a little walk to Worthwood and back. Happy now?" He said, sounding tired.

"Yes. I am. Thank you for finally explaining everything, I can rest easy now, knowing that you're safe." I told him, pulling him in for a light hug.

"That's cute an' all, but are you done now? It's dinnertime." Spectre's voice came from the doorway, as cold and bored as ever. She leaned on the doorframe, waiting on an answer.

"We'll be there shortly." I said gently.

"Whatever." She said, rolling her eyes and walking back upstairs.

When Sirius and I came back up, Lykfilia and Leviathan were silently eating dinner, but Spectre was nowhere to be seen.

"So," Leviathan started, taking a sip of whatever he was currently drinking, "Did you solve whatever needed to be solved?"

I looked at Sirius, who nodded.

"Yeah. We did."
