Chapter Seven

Today was my second day of work. I got up excited to return to the shop. I got dressed and ate breakfast before washing my tooth. I then went into the living room to see Emily and Taeo sitting there.

"Who is taking me to work this morning?" I said all excited.

"Someone is excited, I wonder why." She said to me, I knew what she meant but it wasn't the case.

"I just am excited to go work, it's fun," I said.

"Okay if you say so then," Emily answered with the same look on her face.

Taeo clearly did not understand what she meant and decided to just answer my question as if his sister never spoke a word.

"We both are, since we have a day off, we thought of passing it to the mall."

"Okay that seems nice, but what are we waiting for then let's get it," I said.

"I've never heard you say that expression before." Said Emily.

"Oh, Jackson had taught it to me," I said with a smile.

"Oh, who is Jackson? Maybe he is the reason you are excited to go there." She said teasingly.

"Of course, he is my friend," I answered not catching what she meant.

"Let's just go," said Taeo.

Is he okay? He sounded mad. Before I could ask him, he disappeared out of the house.

"What's wrong with him." I heard Emily said before she walked out of the house.

I did the same at my turn and sat in the passenger seat of the car. Emily was in the backseat and Taeo was driving. Finally, in the mall's parking, we got out of the car and as we approach the building an arm suddenly came around the back of my neck.

"Good morning cutie." I heard Jackson say.

Although he had good attention, a fist came right into his face.

"Back off you asshole," Taeo said with a very deep and angry tone.

"Jackson, are you okay?" I asked him worried.

He was about to punch Taeo back, but he met my eyes and immediately brought down his hand that was placed into a fist.

"Yeah, I am don't worry."

"Taeo why did you punched him?" I said angrily.

"Why was he all over you flirting?" He said back with an angry voice too.

"Because that is the way he is. And why should it even matter! I am going to work, come on Jackson." I said as I started drawing him to the shop with me.

Taeo kept screaming,

"Wait I am sorry. Kim! Wait!" but I've just ignored him.

As we arrived at the shop Jackson took a raw egg and rolled it on his bruised eye.

"Why an egg?" I asked him weirdly.

"Oh, it's a trick I had learned from a Korean Drama." He told me.

I giggle a little bit while thinking, gosh he believes everything that he sees.

"I didn't know you had a boyfriend," he said.

"A boyfriend what do you mean? I don't have a boyfriend, Taeo is just my friend but he's a boy." I said while not really understanding what he was saying, but the next thing he said had made me choke hard.

"Well, he looked really jealous back there."

"He isn't, what would make you think that?"

"He punched me, and the look in his eyes just gave him away, honey your friend is hitting on you. Seems like I have a competitor." He said which made me choke again.

"Hitting on me?" I asked him.

"Oh, it means that he likes you like he has a crush on you." He answered me like he was oblivious.

I just ignore him not believing what he just told me. I just went into the staff room to put away my things and then started my normal workday as nothing had happened. What I was nowhere of was that it was not the worst thing that was going to happen to me that day.

As the day passed on and I served some costumer I saw a group walking nearby. I finally realized who they were and why they were there. It is the royal patrol. They cannot find me, what am I going to do. I immediately started to shake and went towards Jackson.

"They-they cannot be aware of my presence here," I said while pointing to the guards.

Jackson did not ask any questions and just told me to hide under the counter fast before they started heading our way. I immediately did what I was told but I wasn't able to stop shaking. I was so scared, scared of what they will do to me. Of what will happen if I get caught, what would be my punishment? Prison? Get beat? Get killed?

I could not focus on anything at the moment only on my heartbeat. I felt as if it was going to explode at the speed that it was pumping. I then heard an unknown and an authority voice speaks to my friend.

"Did you saw or know a girl named Kim Lidstone? Here is a picture of her. Long brown hair, green eyes she also haves a sharp face and could be wearing fancy dresses."

"No never heard or say her sorry sir. Could I know who she is? She seems like an important person for a brigade to look for her." The man that told me where to hide said.

"Oh, if it is your worry, she is not dangerous neither is she a tread. No one needs to worry we will catch her soon. If that is so, please call this number if you have any information, and have a good day sir." The guy said.

Jackson then came to my level and told me that he was gone but I could not move a muscle. My body was still shaking and my heart pumping like if I was in a haunted house. I was still lost in the world of fear not able to get out. Until some arms came and wrapped themselves around my waist getting me up to his body.

"It's okay I'm here." As soon as I heard his voice, I immediately wrapped my arms around his body and just cried in his chest.
