"Even when someone is miles away, always remember that we are under the same sky, looking at the same sun, moon, and stars." -unknown
It had been a long day and I was more confused than ever, stepping into the new house I met my father sitting on the coffee table with a glass of water beside him. My father had dark skin whereas my mother was lighter skinned. I get an even combination of features from them both. My father was a tall man around 6'5 he stood domineering over others, he's face was usually stoic and hard to read even for me. He was intimidating to say the least brown eyes that scrutinised every single thing around him.
But right now he looked sad he was slouching wrinkles making themselves evident on his face as each day passed. He had a couple documents in front of him. He looked tired he was always tired at least he had changed his shirt. I noticed then that he was wearing a suit. A business meeting perhaps?
"Quinn, we need to talk?", he said not meeting my eyes, "I got a call from oversees they need my help in a business acquisition between multiple firms."
"So we are moving again?", I asked my resolve holding on strong.
"No we aren't, I am. You're staying here. Your 16 years old and you have never had a place to settle down. I promised your mother before she left that I would give you a normal life and I will stick to that." He said still not meeting my eyes.
"So I'll have the house all to myself. It's alright I can handle it.", I said sitting down on the chair opposite from him. I reached for his hand but he pulled away.
"I've been talking to your principal, he said they are re-instating the dorms and you'll live there for the time being. You can come home only on weekends and holidays if I'm not back yet.", he said clenching his fists, he looked up to meet my eyes and my resolved crumbled further, I felt ,y eyes watering.
"Dad come on, I can handle this I'll come every weekend to keep the place clean. It alright I'll be fine, besides my boxes are still unpacked I can do it. Will you leave me one of the cars at least?", I smiled at him, he smiled back
"Sure sweetie I'll leave over the weekend so we can spend the rest of the week together. You're so amazing you know that right?" He said standing up and hugging me. It was the first time in a while where we just hugged and cried together.

I spent the next day reflecting on everything that had happened last night. I had another one of those dreams I woke up feeling horrible. My mood must have reflected this cos I've been feeling off balance. The day drowned on it took longer than usual to get classes over with before lunch. After a while it was time for lunch I dragged myself to the lunch room and sat on the same lunch table as I did yesterday.
The other came in later and Jesse was the first one to sit down. He looked at me his eyes watched me I never noticed how black his hair was. It was so dark and shiny. He continued to watch me as the others sat down. Jonathan also watched me the same way his brother was staring at me. It was almost freaky. His hair was brown like really brown it was very dark and could be mistaken for black if one is not careful.
If the others noticed my behaviour they didn't say anything. I expected someone anyone to say something, well anyone except Valerie. She rubbed me of the wrong way. After ten minutes of awkward conversation I had picked up that Jonathan and Jesse were the quiet ones but Jonathan was especially quiet it was calming for some reason.
"Quinn what's on your mind?", Jesse asked, it caught me off guard.
Taking a deep breath I began to talk, "my dad's moving again but leaving me alone here he left the house in my care but I have to move in." I said without breaking.
Everyone began to laugh except Valerie she seemed to be glaring in me even harder. Xena spoke up "Quinn if you had been listening yesterday you would have realised that we all are moving into the dorms." She said still laughing at me. My face flushed out of embarrassment.
I think my mood was slight raised until I felt a chill on my spine. I turned around looking for him. Today he tucked his hair in a dark blue beanie but a part of his white hair still stuck out, he looked so good in his uniform the beanie matching him perfectly . He was watching me so where his friends, I couldn't really see their features maybe because my attention was solely focused on him.
I decided to try something, I excused myself and walked out of the cafeteria. I gave him a curt nod before walking towards the garden. It felt stupid after a while I had been there for almost ten minutes, lunch was almost over and I was waiting for a no show.
"What were you hoping to achieve by getting me to follow you?", a deep voice called from behind me, his voice was deep and rich he had an accent but I couldn't tell from where.
Turning around I gasped he was way hotter up close. He's eyes were amber but had flakes of gold in them they were breath taking his pure white hair was a sight to behold it was whiter than snow if possible from what was sticking outside his beanie, I wondered if it was dyed or not. He was lean but muscled his lips were set in a pout freckles dancing across his nose.
"Are you gonna stare at me or are you gonna talk?", he snapped drawing me out of my haze.
I was slightly taken a back by his rude reply, pursing my lips I glared at him. Exhaling I said " I don't really know, you intrigue me I guess and I feel you watching me. So what's your deal?" If my question threw him of guard he didn't show it.
"Well Quinn if what you say it's true, then my deal is my business so leave me alone ok?", he replied icily
"I didn't make you come out here now did I? So what's your name it's not fair that you know mine.", I stood my ground looking into his eyes he was pretty tall.
"You can call me Nathan ok?",he sighed
"Nathan as in the prophet?", I asked placing my fingers, watching him from my side eye.
He seemed genuinely surprised that I knew that, I could tell he wanted to ask something, so I did it for him. "My mother loved bible stories I could probably recite all of them off head." It was tradition my eyes watered on the memory.
If he picked up on my unease he didn't say anything instead he fell into a steady pace while walking with me. "I heard you're moving into the dorms, if it helps I'm moving as well I hope we see each other again." He said his hair sticking out of the beanie more than before my fingers itched to touch it, he was slouching to meet my height before standing up straight and walking away again.
I hope so too, see you soon Nathan
