THE ANOTHER

I sliced my way through the forest. I was ferocious and cunning. I was one with the blade. The blade was a part of my body.

The only thing wrong-

Was that I had no idea where I was going.

The place was a puzzle made out of trees. The trees and plants were so damn high that I could never see the area more than few meters at a time. The sun was gone so light was not abundant too. There were small spots where the rays had broken through the branch blockade. The forest floor was like the night sky. Only a lot more green than black.

I was so exhausted that I decided to take a break.

I sat at the base of giant tree.

One thing kept freaking me out.

There is no animals or insects or even birds in this place. There are trees and plants I have never seen before but there are no animals.

I wonder where she is.

Has she even realised that I slipped away?

She might be talking to me as of right now.

I shouldn't have left her.

I decided to go find her and took my machete.

My way back was clear as I had already cleared the bushes. I walked back and soon found myself at the intersection point where I had taken a different path. I started walking on that path, which was way wider than the one I had made.

She is really good at slicing.

I was feeling a bit scared at that point since she was alone. She was tougher than me but I was still worried.

I gripped the machete tighter and walked with an attacking stance. Every turn seemed like a region of terror. I was always feeling that someone was waiting on the other side with a blade on her throat.

I kept walking anyway.

The sliced path was coming to an end. The huge bushes discontinued from that point. I lowered my machete and walked out of the bushy area. I was standing at the bank of a huge lake.

'I can't believe this'

'this is so beautiful.'

The lake was surrounded by the trees and the bushes. It was a circular heaven. I was charmed by its beauty. I didn't even realise that someone was standing behind me-

"Hey stupid ass."—girl.

She kicked me in the butt and I fell down.

'What the?'

I looked at her and felt a warm feeling in my chest. My heart beat was in a very comfy zone.

"Where the hell were you?"—me.

"I was…lost."—me.

"Well...um…I was worried for…um…you."—girl.

"Me … too."--me

I looked at her, she was smiling but it was a fake one.

'She is hiding something.'

'Wait'

'Did she say she was worried…for me?'

I got up and walked up a little closer to her. We were one feet apart.

"I am sorry."—me.

"It's fine."—girl.

She was looking in a different direction. I walked back and said,

"I forgot I have a little girl with me.."—me.

"no really…its"—girl.

She turned at me all red.

"What did you say? Little girl? me?...you know what you are?"—girl.

"Ah…there you are. I missed you. Some shy girl had possessed you."—me.

She looked at me with a glare and then we both laughed out loud.

****

"So were you afraid?"—me.

"When?"—girl.

"When I was gone."—me.

"Yeah right, I should ask you if your pants are dry."-girl.

'This girl is beyond me.'

We were walking by the lake side. I was walking behind her. The lake side was pretty.

I felt like the air itself was filled with refreshments. It was like breathing a nice drink. I felt so nice that she was seeming more beautiful too.

I smiled while looking at the lake and then I looked at her. She looked at me too in that moment and caught me smiling at her.

"Why are you smiling like that?"—girl.

"I …I…I…I."—me.

"You are really a stupid ass."—girl.

"Hey!"—me.

She turned around and started walking again.

I followed her.

"Where are we going?"—me.

"When you were out there…pissing your pants…I found something here."—girl.

'I wasn't pissing….I should have never come back.'

We were now in some more bushes.

She walked up behind a huge boulder, and peeked to the other side.

She signalled me to come. I took heavy steps and stood much closer to her than ever before.

"See that."—girl.

Her breathing was audible now. It was weird but somehow her breathing made me feel relaxed. I was feeling light in the head. I looked in the direction she was pointing.

'What the…'

'How can this be?'

I couldn't believe my eyes. I saw a cottage. There were clothes hanging on a rope and a fire place. I also saw a lady there. She was working on the clothes or something.

She was wearing a torn jeans and a black top. Her hair was golden. Blonde.

"Who are you?"—a male voice.

I was frozen. I couldn't move. I was shocked to see the lady.

I gripped her shoulders tightly but not so tight as to hurt her.

Then I turned slowly and saw a guy standing there. He was wearing a quarter pant with jungle boots and a leather jacket with a white inner. He was looking at us in a weird way. As if he was surprised to see us as well.
