Dammitkawa.

That's continuously on your mind when you get a text from him that he'd be late to the stadium.

Kageyama and Hinata are playing a match against a really good team in the Nationals, so Mei, Eiko, and you are ready to be the embarrassing trio who would cheer like crazy. In fact, you've even made friends with the elder sisters of the second-years from Karasuno, and also their blonde manager that Mei unnecessarily claims is a perfect match for Hinata.

You've also talked a little with Tomo. who Kageyama had expressed that he has feelings for, and you can understand why he might feel that - she was smart, just like Kageyama was. Just in different areas, of course. Kageyama was a dimwit at studies, though.

'Dimwikawa.'

While Oikawa expressed his dismay at your enthusiasm towards the Karasuno team, he had hurried to agree to join you when you agree to walk to school with him till he graduates. It makes you a little sad… He's agreeing to wake up earlier than usual just to get a bus to reach you, for the simple fact that he wanted to walk with you.

The level of dedication he has in regards to you makes you feel some sort of respect towards him, so you decided to address him with 'Tooru' for the day… Until he had sent the text that he'd be late by 30 minutes.

'Dammitkawa.'

You're starting to get some interest in volleyball, and having Oikawa beside you meant that you're learning something when he speaks about it continuously during the match, instead of just listening to the incessant squeals of your friends.

"Hey. Look at that dude." Eiko points at a blonde male who is currently waiting for his turn to serve. "He is so 'hot'."

Clearly, Eiko has a thing for blonde guys.

"I can't agree more!" Mei has to add. You can't see his face all that well, so you take the pamphlet on the players and check the lineup for Inarizaki.

"Miya Atsumu." You read out loud, learning that he's a setter, just like Oikawa. Sure, he was a good looking, but-

"Why are you looking at the other men, Y/n-chan?" A voice interrupts your reading, efficiently butting in and you see Oikawa squeezing himself between you and Mei. "I'm better looking than that kid."

"This dimwit never gets off from his high horse, does he?" You say, glancing at your sister who giggles while Oikawa's jaw drops open and he stares at you, dumbfounded.

"That's the specialty of Tooru of course, lol." Mei has to say, returning her attention to the match.

"You twins are so mean!"

"Don't forget about me too, you little rascal." Eiko has to say, using her orange cone to slap Oikawa's hair, effortlessly completing the Oikawa - bullying trio 2k20.

"I don't know about you, but I think the other twin is better looking." You tell Eiko. "The one called Miya Osamu."

"You dumbass. There is nothing different from that besides their hair color, how do you decide that?!"

"Well," Oikawa can't seem to stay without butting into conversations he isn't needed at, "They're poles apart even if they look alike, the Miya Brothers."

"Are they famous, Tooru?"

Oikawa's head instantly whips to you when you ask him that, and he blinks for a while before he shakes his head up and down aggressively. "They're both outstanding players. I'd like to play against them one day, to beat Atsumu-chan to a pulp~"

"Don't say that when you can't beat Tobio first."

"You're my girlfriend! Why can't you be more supportive instead of picking the better twin between some little bratty kids?!"

While Eiko mumbles something about how Oikawa does not have the authority to call someone just a single year younger than him as a 'kid', you squint your eyes and point a finger at the brown-haired male.

"I didn't start it! And this entire thing didn't balloon up till you came out of nowhere and accused me of calling the french fry hot!"

This makes Oikawa chuckle, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and pulling you close to him. You decide not to protest because he smells just like fresh pomegranate and his good mood made you feel good as well.

"But I have to agree with you, Y/n-chan. There's always a better twin between each set, that's for sure." He says.

You're thinking about the goofy and idiotic expressions that Oikawa would probably be making when you have to go to school next week, so you simply smile at him and ask him, "Oh, really, Tooru?" to humor him.

"Of course!"

"Which one is the better twin then, me or Y/n?" Mei suddenly asks, making Oikawa look from your sister, then back at you.

Then, he takes his arm off from your shoulder, sticking his tongue out towards you like a little kid, and instead of hooking his arm with Mei's and raising his free hand to make a peace sign. "Of course it's Mei-chan!"

You scoff at how petty the dimwit was behaving. "I'll meet you off a cliff!"

"My fans will come to save me!"

"BOTH OF YOU LEAVE ME ALONE, I'M TRYING TO WATCH A MATCH HERE!" Mei says, smacking the two of you with her cheering cones.

"Now look what you've done. You made Mei-chan mad."

"YOU STARTED IT?!"

"And I'll end you two if you don't shut up."

And that is why Oikawa steps away from you two, instead of going to stand near Eiko like the dimwit that he is.

-----------------------------

It's Monday and you're feeling lousy with a headache - probably from that stupid meal you whipped up for yourself yesterday when Mei was out on a date; despite knowing your terrible cooking skills.

You don't want to go to school. In fact, you decide to skip school, until you hear a loud knock at the door almost as soon as you wake up. And it's Oikawa, a small box inside a bag in his clutches, one he shoves into your arms as soon as you open the door.

"Y/n-chan! Good morning! I got you some breakfast that Mom made."

And it's in the way you can see Oikawa's soft smile when he sees you wrapped in a blanket and your robe, it's in the way he pats your head when you let him inside without creating a fuss, that you think about the feelings you have for him.

About just how much you treasured him, and think back to that kind of fond looks he gives you, even many hours after he's left. He circles in your mind like crazy. On top of that, he is attractive. Very much so, and his cream vest makes him look so comfy that you find yourself reaching your arms out and looking up at him with a little pout.

Maybe it's the headache.

Maybe it was the way the packed breakfast that he brought for you smelled like - or maybe the way Oikawa always smelled so fresh and warm. Whichever it was, it earns an utterly dumbfounded expression from the male, who looks at you in bafflement, before he takes hold of your wrists, pulling you to him.

"Why are you being so cute this early in the morning?"

"You smell so nice." You blurt out, instantly feeling your face heat up in embarrassment.

'Oh, God. How lame! And knowing Oikawa he'd be…' grinning from ear to ear, just like the Cheshire cat.

"Why do I feel like you like me even more than I like you, now?" He wants to know, ruffling your hair as his embrace around you tightens and he shakes you a little in your hug.

"Maybe because I do." Your headache was making you be like this. There is no other explanation for your actions.

Oikawa looks down at your face, your noses pressing against each other as he smiles a little and breathes out. "Maybe you do, yes." He agrees with a grin that feels like it might burst into a chuckle any second.

"I'm surprised you like me even when we argue about every petty thing that exists." You say, your hands finding their way to Oikawa's brown school tie, which was a little loose. You're mindlessly stroking on the collar of his blue shirt, and the male's arms wrap around your waist, making you look back up at him.

"Well, that's because I get my kind of high by provoking you."

"Please keep your kinks to yourself."

Oikawa responds with a chuckle, pressing his lips on your forehead and giving you a little kiss. "Oh. You have a bit of a fever." He says, pressing the back of his palm on your forehead.

"I don't feel too well." You say while you allow Oikawa to take your hand and bring you to the dining table.

"Where is Mei-chan, anyways?" He wants to know, taking the bag he'd brought. There is a small cup of steaming soup which he asks you to drink.

"Club. They're doing a three-day event, so I'll probably have to get some medicine and stay back."

"Is it bad enough that you're gonna skip today?" He asks, looking genuinely concerned while you pick up a piece of gimbap with your pair of chopsticks.

It's actually not, but not having Mei around was the perfect opportunity for you to skip school, so you couldn't skip a chance like this. "I like you so let me sleep-"

"You can't go to Karasuno if you skip classes, Y/n-chan!!!" He exclaims, clearly seeing through you and ignoring your comment completely.

"They skip with me."

Oikawa's eyes are almost wider than Frisbees before he sighs out loud and facepalms. "You'll drive me insane one of these days, I swear."

"Take your vest off and let's sleep, Tooru~," You say, and instead of eliciting a shocked reaction like what you'd been expecting, you see something else. And that's the way Oikawa is looking at the table, lips in a little pout while his face is flushed red beyond belief while he puffs his cheeks, flustered.

'So Oikawa can be cute like this when he wants to be…'
