Birthday Party - Part 1

Jun was sleeping soundly when his father came inside his room. Usually Jun sleeps on his birthday because that way he forgets about his past memory. Dowan sat beside Jun on the bed and caressed his head lovingly.

Jun sleep was broken by this. He opened his eyes and saw his father before him. "Dad, " whispered Jun and got up. He rested his back from on the pillows behind him.

"Happy birthday Jun," wished Dowan. Jun smiled and thanked him. "Sorry, for last night. I should've been careful about that," murmured Jun.

Dowan smiled and said, "I think you were upset that's why you drank. Else you usually drink outside," said Dowan with a worried look.

"Is there something disturbing you? I mean you never behaved like this." Dowan became serious while asking Jun politely. Jun faked a smile and lied. "There's nothing to worry about. I was stressed out because of the work."

Dowan patted at his back and said, "Don't stress yourself too much. Work is important but health is more important." Jun agreed with him.

"Now, go freshen up. Tae and Jae are waiting for you," Dowan told him and got up from the bed. He then put a small gift box on the table and said, "it's from our side. Accept that you'll like it." Saying this Dowan walked out of the room.

Jun opened the gift and found a card, a watch and a newly launched ipod in the market. He smiled seeing the iPod. "Jae must have bought this. It's good," murmured Jun and took out the card. There was a beautiful message written inside the card. He didn't read that and put the gifts there.

Looking around he went to his wardrobe and took out the clothes. He was going to enter the washroom when Jae, Yun and Tae came there singing a birthday song for him. They hugged him tightly and wished him happiness.

"I should take a bath," said Jun running his forehead with a finger and walked inside the washroom. Jae, Yun and Tae waited for him.

"So he doesn't want to tell Ani. Well, I'm confused about something. Like Ani must've known his birthday." Yun stated and smiled.

Tae laughed and said, "Jun had spread the wrong date about his birthday in the school time. So, Ani always wished him on a wrong day." Yun and Jae saw each other.

"Then Jun accepted her wishes?," asked Jae.

"He ignored her as always," said Tae and laid down on the couch.

"Ani must've felt bad. I mean I sometimes think of beating Jun. A girl like her is difficult to find." Yun praised Ani saying this. Jae and Tae nodded hearing him. They were talking with each other and laughing when Seori and Eunhi came inside the room.

They all greeted them and made them sit on the couch. "Jun is in the washroom. He will come in a while," replied Tae.

"Hmm. Well, take care of him. Don't leave him even for a second when you'll be out," said Eunhi with concern.

"Don't worry Aunty. We won't," murmured Tae. Jun came out of the washroom wiping his hair from the table. He put the towel around his neck and greeted his uncle aunty. Seori and Eunhi both walked near him.

"Here, this is a small gift for you." Eunhi handed him a gift bag.

"You already gave me," murmured Jun looking at the bedside table. "Keep this also. You don't have to refuse today," a insisted Eunhi. Jun smiled and thanked her.

"I'm coming in a while for breakfast," stated Jun. Seori gave a hug to Jun and wished him a lot of happiness. Jun smiled and said, "you all are treating me as a kid."

Seori laughed and said, "for parents, their child remains a kid always." Jun laughed and thanked them. After they left the room he turned to look at Jae and Yun.

"You don't need to come. I want to be alone. I might sound rude but I really want to be alone," muttered Jun and left the room.

"What happened?," murmured Jae, looking at Tae. "I think he wants to be alone like he used to on his birthday. Don't bother him if he has said so," Tae warned them. Yun and Jae nodded to Tae's advice.

After Jun was done his breakfast he came to his room and saw Tae there. "They both left?," asked Jun.

"No. Jae went to Yun's house," murmured Tae and put the magazine on the table. He got up from the couch and said, "Let's go then to the park," said Tae excitedly. Jun nodded and took out a leather jacket from his cupboard. Wearing that they both left from the house.

After an hour they reached the central park. They wandered in the park looking at the people and children there. Jun was smiling looking at the children there who were enjoying with their parents.

"My family used to be like them," murmured Jun and sat on the bench there. Tae was seated beside him. "You know why I came here," inquired Jun.

"Hmm. Your most memorable memory lays here and you don't to come out of that memory," stated Tae. Jun smiled and said, You forgot one more thing." Tae looked at Jun.

"This is the place where I first met you when you were 1 years old, dad told me. And the other thing, this was the first place where I met with Ani when she was 4 years old," stated Jun.

"You never told me that Ani has been here already," Tae told him with a pouted face.

"I didn't tell you earlier that I like her that's why I never told you." Jun reasoned him and passed a smile.

"Then you should've come here with her," advised Tae to Jun. Jun laughed hearing this. "Hey!! Then she will never focus on her work," Jun told him.

"I think you interpret love in another way," murmured Tae and scrunched his nose. Jun smiled and said, "Let's not talk about her now." A cotton candy seller passed across then when Tae ran to him and purchased two cotton candies.

Handing one to Jun, Tae started eating his. "After 4 years we're eating this together," said Jun and smiled.

"Yes. Well, this was the thing I first bought you here on your birthday when you were 5 with my pocket money," answered Tae.

"Our childhood days were so interesting till I turned 10 and everything was destroyed in one night,"Jun said in a trembling voice and the smile on his face disappeared.

"It's in the past. Better to forget it." Tae stated to Jun. Jun didn't say anything and continued eating his cotton candy.

Jun and Tae reached home in the evening. Jun was smiling and seeing him his family became delighted, especially his father, Kim Dowan.

They entered the living room when Jun told them,"ahh there's a party at my superior's place and he has invited me. So, I might get late today." Seori asked him about the party.

"Ahh, he has a son who has turned 24. So he is throwing a party for that," replied Jun with a smile.

"You should go then," murmured Dowan. Tae told Jun then he's going to Yun's house as Jae kept on calling him. Jun nodded. "You should stay there then tonight. You must be tired," murmured Jun.

"Hmm...Okay then I'll see you tomorrow. Well, we three have prepared a gift for you. It's in your cupboard." Saying this Tae left from there.

Jun got ready and then left for Sangma hotel. As it was evening time the traffic was getting heavier. Jun rubbed his forehead. "What should I buy for his son? It's such a difficult task," muttered Jun under his breath. As soon as the traffic got clear, Jun sped up the car and turned to a shopping complex.

He went to a shop and thought of buying a watch for Jok Wang's son. "Well, I've not done this much effort for anyone," murmured Jun. After buying the gift he left for Sangma. He reached there and quickly climbed the stairs. Showing the usher invitation card, he went inside.

Secretary Hoon came to him and they both greeted each other. "Sir, how are you?," asked Kim Jun.

"You don't have to call me Sir. You're my superior after all," answered Lee Hoon. Jun smiled and scrunched his nose. "But I did my training under you. So for me you are a Sir." Stated Jun. Lee laughed slightly and took him further inside the grand hall.

Jok Wang was meeting with many of the business partners, friends etc when Jun came there. "Ahh, Jun-aa." Mumbled Jok Wang and shook hands with him. He gave him a tight hug and said, "congratulations on becoming Director of the Sangma."

Jun thanked him and expressed his gratitude as Jok Wang was the one under whom Jun made the project successful when he was in the internship.

"Lee Ahn Young, come here my child." Muttered Jok Wang. Ahn Young told something to his friends and went near his father. "Yes dad," said Ahn Young.

"Meet Kim Jun. He's the new director of Sangma." Jok Wang introduced his sin. Ahn Young looked at Jun and gave him a warm smile.
