Both trainers threw their pokeballs, Rattata was sent out by Joey whilst Ahriman sent out Alakazam. Joey upon seeing this pokemon, he started to question if he will win. Ahriman taking advantage of this,
Ahriman: "If you won't start this, i will. Alakazam, use Confusion." With this command, Alakazam started to glow blue and his spoons started to warp into multiple directions.
Joey: "Rattata evade the attack by using quick attack, then move in and use bite!". White energy envelope Rattata as he swiftly zigzagged, dodging and weaving between the blue energy fired off by Alakazam all the while getting closer and closer. Just before impact, a large set of fangs appeared and bite down Alakazam, sending him hurtling back tumbling. Before Alakazam came to a stop, he disappeared and appeared where Rattata started. Looking calm but winded after he was hit, he unleashed his psychic energy as a beam and launched it towards Rattata. The beam quickly shot towards Rattata before it could evade, lifted and slammed him into and through a tree before slamming him into a nearby rock. Rattata at this point has fainted and Joey screaming for his Rattata, quickly running towards it and holding it in his arm. Ahriman stunned at Alakazam new move and power quickly called out to Alakazam, "Alakazam, i think it would be best if you retrained and got back to basic till you can control that power". Alakazam uses teleport and appears next to Ahriman with his head hanging in shame. Ahriman recalled his pokemon after checking him over and offered to give Joey money or medicine for his Rattata. Joey accepted the money and ran off to a pokemon centre to get his pokemon healed.
Ahriman surprised at the experience, carried on walking along route 30 until he made his way to route 31 and found a dirt trail off the main road. Taking this road he found and it lead to a slightly wooded cave with a small lake nearby. Choosing this spot to rest and camp, Ahriman sets up his tent and calls out his pokemon. He instructs them to rest near the camp whilst he cooks up their meals. Whilst cooking their meals he notices Alakazam looking towards him before quickly looking away in shame, Ahriman finishes up their meals and present each of them to Natu and Alakazam. 'Hmm, its nice he learnt Psybeam. Lets get to honing his new power before we continue.'. Walking over to Alakazam, he gestures for him to follow him and for Natu to continue to train on his own.
Ahriman: "Now, since you have evolved multiple times in a short span of time. We need to go back to basics to make sure you can handle and gauge that new found power. The tournament is not for another 4 days. We will be staying out here and training until 1 day before so we can sign up. Now just as i taught you, meditate and feel your power try to mold it into ball and move it about. Get a feel of the ball and start of simple, back and forth and then when you feel ready. Start adding more complex movement and tr to control more balls or move onto different shapes." With this, he gestures for Alakazam to start his training and watches for 10 - 15 minutes before starting his own. He also tries to perform this and finds that he is able to form a ball when previously it was a wiggly wobbly mess and energy that quickly dissipates. This intrigued him and he carried on moving this ball, he found it sluggish to move to begin with but slowly got easier and easier till it started to lose its shape and collapse. Sweat pouring off all of his body and a minor headache, Ahriman takes a trip with Natu towards the lake to clean off. Whilst bathing a rustling can be heard from a nearby bush and Natu took his place flying near Ahriman Chirping loudly and angrily towards the noise. After a few seconds a Psyduck can be seen walking to the lake and start to drink and clean itself. Ahriman commands Natu to watch the Psyduck as they are prone to psychic accidents due to their headaches and continues to bathe. After bathing, he gathers his clothes, gets dressed and heads back to camp. When he returns he see Alakazam still practicing as ordered, he walks up to him,
Ahriman: "You've done well to follow orders, lets rest for tonight and start again tomorrow." With that all 3 of them start to settle down and go to sleep. The next morning, the 3 of them start training and participating in mock battles. Even Ahriman tries his utilizing his psychic against the others, to begin with they are instructed to be defensive and only to attack softly if a opening is presented. Multiple times Ahriman found himself tripped or knocked over but eventually he utilizing his powers more efficiently and with new tactics. Nothing happens during lunch and during the evening, only the occasional trainers that walk past to trainer within the cave or head towards the lake. None take interest in the group and walk on, some glance other and see a new trainer working closely with their pokemon. This carried on until the group went to sleep, the one thing Ahriman noticed was that when the pokemon use different moves the way the recover is different, for psychic moves the user meditates, whilst for flying type moves the pokemon tends to rest in the air or in a location where the wind blows freely. This gave the idea for Ahriman that different areas might have different types of energy flowing freely, if he's able to find an area with a large psychic energy flow this might speed up their training.
The sun rises bringing a new day, Ahriman recalls his pokemon and clears his camp. it was around mid morning when he set off, he didn't engage any pokemon as he needed to get to Violet City to register for the tournament. Upon reaching the city, he made his way to the gym to register. As he approached he could see a large building with multiple open windows on and near the roof with a lot of avian pokemon leaving and entering. He entered the building and the strong smell of bird feed and chemicals hit his nostrils, feeling a slight sting in his nose he powered on through and walked up to a man behind a desk in overalls and Pidgey next to him. Waiting until he's finished, Ahriman saw the man roll a letter up and add it to the container on Pidgey's back, after which he gave it some food and released it.
Gym Worker: "Sorry about that, had to finish up some work. So what can i help you with."
Ahriman: "I'm here to register for the tournament, here is my Pokedex with my trainer information." Handing the device over, the worker pulls up his information and records its down on their systems before handing the device back.
Gym Worker: "Ok, your all signed up. Here is the tournament pack, it will provide information about when the tournament starts, what you need to bring and the general rules on how the fights will be. Any questions?"
Ahriman: "Is there a limit on pokemon and their evolution, for instance could i bring a pokemon that has evolved twice like Meganium or Typhlosion?"
Gym Worker: "Any pokemon that have evolved twice will be tested before they are accepted as not all pokemon evolutions are the same." With that Ahriman thanks the worker and leaves, he heads to a pokemon centre and books a room. He cleans up and washes his clothes, whilst waiting for the clothes to dry, he turn the TV on and watch the news. nothing interesting was being shown other than this years winner and his tour around the region, some guy named Lance. He was seen using dragon type pokemon to overpower the competition and win the league. After 30 to 60 minutes of watching TV and feeling his brain cells decay, he turned it off and felt his clothes had dried and got dressed to leave. Walking around the city, he noticed nearby archaeological find and how it was becoming a tourist attraction. Walking to the site, Ahriman noticed something strange in the air, as if he could feel more and more psychic energy present. Upon reaching the site, he started hearing noises coming from the hut beside the cave. Noticing a flash in his peripheral vision, he quickly turns to look at the flash and catches a glimpse at a pokemon that looked like a drawing compass before it disappeared. 'Omnidex, what was that thing?'
Omnidex: 'That pokemon is known as Unown, their appearances differ and were used characters in ancient script.' Wandering closer to the hut the energy Ahriman felt is getting stronger and stronger, entering the building he is faced with a stone tablet with fragments on a table nearby. Walking over to the fragments, he can see lines are present, looking closer he can see that there are 2 sets of each tile. Feeling fixation to the fragments, Ahriman feels his consciousness start to slip and everything around him starts to blur apart from the fragments. Picking up the fragments he can feel each piece thrum with different energies unknown to him apart from 1 piece where he can feel large amounts of psychic energy present. he starts arranging the pieces on the stone tablet and slowly a picture of a pokemon with a shell, 2 eyes and 6 claws. As the last piece is slotted into place, he can feel the energy around him being sucked into the stone tablet, just after the energy disappears the floor below opens up and Ahriman falls into the trap door. Unknown to Ahriman, the trap door resets and Unown appear near the table and move the pieces back onto the table in the position before he arrived.
