That subsequent day, she laid down on her bed, when Andre's suggested she goes with him to a play at the community center, hence she wasn't busy with anything, so she decided to go.

When life's take you a new place" that was the theme of the play, thus they both sat down at the first role.

Maria Jose closely paid attention to each and every detail of the play.

Thus after that, they walked back home, Andre's glared at her and noticed how quiet she was after watching the show.

"Are you okay?" he implored her, but she seems to be deep in thought.

"Maria Jose" he called her out, thus it snapped back to reality as she turns to him.

"What gives" she replied, as she playfully pushed him.

"You were so deep in your thought, hence I figured it was the only way to jerk you back" he replied back wearing a dark expression on his face.

"That play we just watched I felt was about me" Maria Jose altered, as she crouched on a bench close to her

"How do you mean?" he raised a question, as he halts for a reply.

"I grew up from a complicated family, my mom died, leaving only me and dad, hence after a year, he decided to get a new wife, " Melissa Rubio" who at first where so loving towards me, hence neither did I know that she was only pretending to love and care for me, thus little by little she made my dad forgot about me, now all he thinks of is his wife and my step-siblings. While I lived there like a stranger, with much efforts I graduated from college, after studying business administration, I tried all I could to get a job but all to no avail, so  I decided to work as a clerk, thus my stepmom decided that my paycheck will be given to her, which of cause I didn't argue with her, glimpsing it was my responsibility to take care of my family".

So each payroll I get, my stepmom takes it from me, but they seem not to be satisfied with what they have, and even when I tell them, I don't have to give, my stepmom goes to tell dad and trust me, he scolds me, without at least finding out from me first, It hurts to see that all my sacrifices fall on deaf ears." Maria Jose let out, clenching her fist on the bench.

"Am sorry" Andre's said, pinning a sad expression on his face.

"It's cool" she replied back, letting go of a deep puff.
