chapter seven

Maria Jose glanced at everyone that received their paychecks, pinning a smile on her face, thus after work, they went back home but before getting home, Mrs. Idris decide to go shopping, that is! buy stuff the family needs, hence she volunteered to go with her.

They both, passed through the fruit section, down to the toy section for Raya, abruptly they left back home, after purchasing everything.

Maria Jose saw how they contributed to the welfare of the family, irrespective of how much they earn, it was enough to keep the family going for two months. Hence she wishes her family will be like that.

"Congrats on your payroll" she mumbled as she approached Andre's.

"Thank you" he replied back, hence he pulls out a box behind him.

"What's this?" She collected it, thus pinned a shocked expression on her face, when she saw a wooden bracelet inside.

"I thought it might look good on you," Andre's said, as he pulled it out from the box and wore it on her wrist.

"Thank you" she muttered back, thus she lungs in for a hug.

Aww, indeed it was nice of Andre's to gift Maria Jose a beautiful wooden bracelet, I spy with my little eye, something growing between them but only time will tell.

After that, they both walked off to their rooms, till the following morning.

86 days gone

85 more to go.

"Maria Jose" Raya called  her out, as she lungs out of the bed, glimpsing on two hard-looking thugs at home, destroying, everywhere, hence she tries to stop them but Richard, jerked his head for her not too.

The whole family gave up their savings, hence not even a cent was kept for them.

Thereafter, Andre's angrily stumped out of the house, as she rushed behind him.

"What?" He glamoured with a harsh tone, it was the first time, Maria Jose glanced at him angrily.

"Who were those people," she asked a question, as he replied back to me.

"They were tax collector's" he replied back , pinning a sad expression on.

"Who sent them," Maria Jose asked another question, hence he tells her that Mateo, sent them to take tax's from  everyone at the city,

"That's brutal" she altered, wearing a dark expression on her face, hence asked why he hasn't been reported to the given authority's.

"You think it's easy to walk in and report a man of his kind" Andre's asked her a question as he walks away from there.

She stood there and wondered if that was the reason, the universe sent her here, to save them from the brutally of Mr. Mateo.

The next day, Maria Jose went to work without the others, hence decides to pay her boss a visit.

"Good morning sir" she glamoured at the entrance of the door, as he glanced at her, hence his smiling face turned into an angry one.

"Can I help you?" He answered back to Maria Jose waiting for a replay.
