chapter 8

It was challenging to work with Kavish but I was satisfied with my work. I was learning many aspects which I did not learn. I was wishing that I could to do job big company like that in past. It was my luck that I had opportunity to work in that company otherwise without sameera and Karan , guards would not let me enter in that company.

Other side, kavish and I started to know each other. He was strict in work but he was also nice person. He helped me in my work and taught me how to do. Now, he didn't behave me like starting. His behaviour was getting changed.

I had to prepare presentation about financial report but I couldn't understand how to finish it. I tried many times but nothing were helping. I heard kavish voice from my behind, "did you ready your presentation?"

I turned towards him and told with confusion, "I couldn't understand anything. Now, my brain stopped to do working."

He smiled and said, "let me see where you have problem."

I nodded and as I started to get up, he took the another chair and sat on it, "sit there."

I nodded. He looked at laptop's screen and started to read my presentation. I was looking his face and screen one by one. I was trying to understand what he is thinking. He smiled but didn't move his gaze from screen, " don't do it. You are disturbing me."

I couldn't understand and asked him innocently, "what did I do wrong? There is some problem in presentation."

He looked at me for one second then shook his head, "no, there is no problem but look at screen. You add that data and finish it." He added data into presentation and show me.

I read it and he was right. I said with cheering voice, "that's why I say you genius. You have solution of every problem."

He smiled, "you know when to say right words but it will not work on me. I do it because I have experience but you are not bad."

I thanked him, "but I am learning from you. I don't know how to thank you."

He asked, "do you want to thank me?"

I nodded. He continued, "then bring a cup of coffee for me."

"Only one cup?" I asked.

"What do you mean by only one cup? Do you want me to get sick before meeting?" He asked with raising his eyebrows.

I shook my head and smiled and left for cafeteria.

As I was going to enter in cafeteria, I heard something. I stopped outside and overhear. Actually, my two colleagues was there and doing gossip about me.

One of my colleague was saying"I don't know about Natasha. But we know kavish sir from starting. He never talked to us like that but he behaved different around Natasha. May be, they are hiding something."

Other hummed, "I am sure something was going on between them."

First said with bitter voice, "that's why he helped her in every way. I overheard they met outside the office." Who saw me with him outside the office? I don't know when I went with him outside the office. I took a deep breath. I couldn't hear more nonsense talk. That's why I decided to entered into cafeteria. I looked at them and smiled. They looked at me and got shocked. But I pretended that I didn't listen anything. I started to make coffee and asked normally, "what's going on?"

They looked at each other and one of them said, "nothing. We are talking about here and there. By the way, have you finished your presentation?"

I nodded, "almost."

Other said, "best of luck. We have to do work. We are going now."

I nodded and they left. I thought how can they think like it. You can't never escape from gossips. Something clicked in my brain. It is better that they are adding my name with him, they are not adding with karan. Otherwise I felt embrassed.

I put the cup of coffee on his table. He thanked me and looked at me, "what happened? You looked down. Are you alright?"

I nodded and tried to fake smile, "yeah, I am tired. Nothing else."

He said with concerned, "if you are tired, you can take rest. I will attend meeting alone."

I told him, "I am fine. Don't worry. And I can't miss the chance to experience it."

"Or you can't miss the chance to see him?" He teased me.

I blushed but I covered it quickly, "I don't know what are you talking."

Before he said anything, I came out from his cabin. I put my hands on my cheeks. It were hot. By the way, he was right. It was my first time when I would see him in office. I looked at myself. 'Did I look like presentable? Wait, from when did I start to concern about my apprence? Oh god, I changed a lot because of him. I don't know in future, I will recognise myself or not. Forget it, think about your work only.

After one hour, I and kavish headed over towards meeting area. I was scared that I would do it or not. I heard his voice, "don't need to be panic. You will do great."

"Who said I am panic?" I asked with stubborn.

"Anybody can read on your face." He replied.

"Ohh" I made my face. He put his hand on my shoulder, "it's normal. Don't worry. You are best. You will do great."

I smiled, "thank you."

We entered into meeting hall. There was other departments head and their assistant were present. We bid greetings to everyone and we sat on our seats. We were waiting for Karan and his secretary. After few minutes, they arrived.

Karan looked at me but I looked at somewhere else. I didn't want anybody know about us. We sat on our seats.

The meeting started. Every departments presented their presentation including us. We discussed about the meeting. The meeting was going on two hours. As the boss, Karan took the decision and everyone were agreed with it. In the end, everyone thanked to each other.

After meeting, kavish and I headed back towards our department. Kavish gave me compliment, "you did great."

"Thank you." I said with smile.

"I understand why he likes you." As he said, I looked at him with suspicious. Because till now, I didn't understand.

"Why?" I asked with excitement.

"First, give me answer of my question." He said.

"Ok ask whatever you want to ask." I told him.

"Why did you ignore him when you have a great opportunity to tell everyone that you are his girlfriend?" He asked.

I smiled, "I told you that I don't want to be by his girlfriend. I want to be judge by my work. How many times I have to tell you? You should have take almond every morning to sharp your memory."

He shook his head and smiled, "you are unbelievable. You are joking when I am serious."

"You are started it." I made my face.

"Do you know in our office, everyone was gossiping about us?" He motioned towards himself and me.

I looked at him with shocked, "you also knew."

He took a deep breath, "it means you also know."

"Yeah, I overheard today at afternoon. From when did you know?"

"It doesn't matter from when I knew. Do you think Karan will not take any step when he will overhear?" He asked with concern.

"You know him better than me." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Do you have no objection about gossips?" He asked with shocking.

"It's not on me that I have objection or not. I don't like gossips that's why I hid from everyone that he is my boyfriend." I told him.

"If you say, I will talk him about it." He asked.

I looked at him, "are you kidding? I thought you know him better than me. But do you imagine what will happen when you talk him about it?"

He agreed with me, "yeah, you are right. It is not good idea. Actually, we are already not in good terms. And he is short temper."

"Don't worry. I will talk him when I will get chance. Now it's your turn to tell me why he likes me." I asked with smile.

He also smiled, "Because you are beauty with brain. He never date with any girl."

"What? He had never any girlfriend." I asked. How can it possible? Now a days, it's normal.

"If you don't believe me, ask him yourself." He suggested.

"There is no need." He laughed.

In the night, Karan came late at night. I asked him, "why are you so late?"

"I have work." He told. He was taking out his nightwear from wardrobe. I asked, "did you take dinner?" He shook his head with no. "Ok I will get ready to table till you changed." I told him.

"I have no appetite." He said with looking at me.

"Why? When you didn't take anything. I am getting ready you will eat little."

"I told you..."

I told him with sad voice, "I also didn't eat anything. Let's go to bed without eating. But I am hungry."

He looked at me, "when you are hungry, why don't you eat."

"I was waiting for you." I smiled.

"How many times do I have to tell you? Don't wait for me." He told with concern.

I smiled, "how many times do I have to tell you? I want to wait you."

He shook his head, "you are unbelievable."

I nodded, "I know I am only one piece in this world." I said with proud.

He laughed, "okay. I am coming after changing."

I nodded. He went to bathroom and I went to kitchen for serving our dinner. After arranging everything on dinning table, I sat on chair for waiting him. It's my habit to wait him and eat with him. After few minutes, he came and sat on a chair, "you know na, I am eating because of you."

I nodded with smile, "I am very aware." We ate. He asked, "where is sameera? Did she eat?"

"Yeah,She ate already and now, she is resting in her room." I told him.

He hummed. We were eating with silent. He asked, "do you know I am angry on you?"

I looked at him and asked innocently, "why?"

"Don't you know?" He asked with raising his eyebrows.

I was scared 'did he already know about gossips? What to say?' I shook my head with no. And pretended as I didn't know anything.

"Why did you ignore me in meeting room?" He asked with disappointment.

I took relief. It means he didn't know till now. I opened my mouth, "you know I don't want anybody knows you know me."

"But you are my girlfriend. What is the problem to tell everyone?" He asked with eagerly.

"I don't know but..." I couldn't tell him the reason or about my past.

"Or you feel embrassed to tell anyone that I am your boyfriend." He asked with looking me. He was right but I couldn't tell him on his face. I was not confident to tell anybody that he is my boyfriend.

I looked at him, "why are you saying so?"

"Because I assume it." He said. I didn't say anything. He continued, "but one day, everyone will know you are mine. So ready for that day." I nodded but why I was feeling that he was giving me warning. It's my mistake. I was over thinking.

After some days, everything was normal. I was aware that gossips was spreading fastly. But Karan didn't say anything. That's why I thought it was not big issue. I had to concentrate on my work.

I was working. My mobile rang. I looked at mobile screen. It was sameera. I answered, "hey, what's up?"

"Can you come home early?" She asked. It seemed something was not going right.

I asked, "what happened sameera?"

She told, "actually, I am at my friend house. But Karan is not well. He is at home. Can you take care him behalf of me?"

I asked with concern, "what happened to him?"

She told, "I don't know. I received a call from him just now. He told me that he is sick and at home. He never takes leave from his work. I think it's serious."

"Ok,I will be at home soon." I cut the call and rushed towards kavish cabin.

I asked him, "can I go home early? It's urgent."

"What happened?" He asked with concern.

"Nothing. I will tell you later. Can I go now?" I asked.

"Okay." I thanked him and came out his cabin.

I closed my work, took my handbag and rushed towards exit.

I was thinking in my way. He was normal in the morning. What happened to him suddenly? I prayed to God, please protect him. My heart was pounding fastly. I was feeling that everything is wrong. He is sick but I was worried for him very much. I never felt like about my family, as I was feeling about him.
