CHAPTER 5: Tyler

Dear diary,

Today is the day. Where I officially meet a girl. I know for me – it shouldn't be that big a deal since… you know the gist – popular guy plus sports makes me irresistible. But with her it's different. I actually was able to open up to her about all the stuff that goes through my head and she was actually understanding and non judgemental. Because I talked through everything with her, I just hope we won't run out of anything to talk about.

This is all new as; I've never had that feeling with anyone before – not even with my friends at school which is saying something. All we do is just play basketball together and just talk about the cutest chicks which barely scratches the surface.

All of a sudden, it's like there's a crumb of light slowly but surely forming at the end. I smiled in spite of that dark shadow looking down at me from afar – keen to destroy that light. As I get ready for our meet up – the window suddenly bursts open with a BANG and it's like invisible hands grab me and push and push and push until it practically FORCES me to stare at myself in the mirror. Well… my darker self.

In it, it's like that light I thought I saw was just a blur, a mirage in fact. Because all I see is just PURE horror staring back at me and suddenly that light just sealed right up and was even locked up with a padlock. As if I wasn't deserving of anything good. Now I was just so tempted to just give up with the world as again – it came with a lot of punches. But as soon as I saw Joline's name pop up as a notification on my phone – I immediately knew where my priorities lay. I just put on some sunglasses and wore a long sweater to cover my scars and I was ready.
