A normal day in Maple high school. Students were swarming to the school gate to begin a the new school semester after a long break.
The school was on the outskirts of the city on a high cliff, too many stairs were curved in the stone leading to the main gate, which made going to school very challenging, but it suited the School director's philosophy, that one should do some light exercise before starting his day for a healthy body and soul.
But not everybody liked the idea, though. You could hear incoherent curses coming from the students' mouths on their way to school everyday.
It was almost Nine in the morning, but two students were late for the school opening ceremony.
They struggled to climb the cliff above which the school located.
They huffed and puffed then took a stop midway to catch their breath.
" It's your fault we are late to school! If you hadn't snoozed both of our alarms we wouldn't have been that late! "
Said the younger, who had blonde dyed hair. He was a five point four feet petite senior high school student, which made people mistake him for an elementary school student.
He had slanted Boss-eyes yet a smart inspecting gaze.
He could barely catch his breath that his cheeks turned light pink from the exhaustion.
"Seriously, Jihoon?? Weren't you the one who insisted we play games till midnight, then go running till two in the morning afterwards? "
Scolded the older who had purplish black bed hair, squishy chubby cheeks, tiny button nose ,soft baby lips and front bunny teeth.
He had narrow eyes that barely looked open, away from being sleepy.
"If you were fast and had strong enough legs we would have finished running early and went to bed, Kwon Soonyoung! "
Yelled Jihoon, then carried on with climbing the stairs to hell. Oh! To the school gate.
" Hey! Don't go leaving me here alone! Ya! Woozi!! "
Shouted Soonyoung as he followed his best friend.
When they arrived at the school gate, they were scolded of course for getting to school late, but after they explained to the teacher why they were late he let it slip even though he wasn't very convinced with their story.
They hurried to the school main hall where a huge crowd of students swarmed in front of the cardboard sheet hung on the wall, where their names were written, each in his/her class.
Soonyoung could slip between the crowd of students and managed to get to the front.
He searched for his and his friend's names to finally find them in the same class again.
He jumped up and down with triumphed then rushed to Jihoon who was anticipating his friend's confirmation.
"We are in the same class again!! " said Soonyoung in a tone full of joy.
A wide smile formed on Jihoon's lips but soon vanished.
He cleared his throat then murmured.
"Um. Great. Now let us go to our class. "
Soonyoung's excitement didn't cease even when they reached their class.
There were many empty seats. So, he was free to use any seat.
Grabbing Jihoon along, he took a seat and gestured for Jihoon to sit at the seat beside him so they would be seatmates.
Jihoon sighed yet took a seat beside Soonyoung afraid of the consequences of not doing as his friend askes for.
Soonyoung was the type of people to sulk all day and give Jihoon a hard time, and would remember the reason Jihoon made him sulk for weeks and months.
Nonetheless, Soonyoung was a great friend to Jihoon. Since Jihoon was the type of students who are always quiet and calm in school, who wouldn't approach people first. He had no friends until Soonyoung came to him and randomly asked him about his favourite food, then at lunch time he would take a seat on the table Jihoon would be sitting at, in the school cafeteria, and just silently eat his lunch.
He would sometimes throw a random comments on how Jihoon's lunchbox looked neat and the food looked delicious.
Jihoon used to get annoyed at start, because Soonyoung wouldn't let him eat in peace without staring at his lunchbox intently like it was a beautiful piece of art.
Later on, they became close friends that they would stay over at each other's houses, doing homework, playing games or just exercising, which was mainly done by Jihoon alone.
Even though, Soonyoung was the leader of the football team, yet Jihoon's exercise routine always exhausted him.
*Back to the present*
The class started, Jihoon was trying his best staying awake while Soonyoung just put his head over the desk and drooled away into deep sleep.
He would talk in his sleep and munch invisible food from time to time.
"Jihoon and Soonyoung, you two. Out!"
The teacher said in rage as she kept tabbing her heels repetitively in anger.
"But Teacher, I did nothing wrong! "
Cried Jihoon who felt wronged, yet slowly got up from his seat followed by Soonyoung who just woke up and was just staring at the nothingness as he walked out of the class after Jihoon.
" Why did you have to leave as well? "
Asked Soonyoung then yawned like a polar bear, a fluffy one.
" I have no idea. Whatever, lets go to the music club's room. "
Said Jihoon in a relaxed tone like nothing happened.
Jihoon was the leader of the music club. Actually, he was a music genius. He would spend the whole time at the club either composing acoustic songs on his guitar or writing beautiful song lyrics.
They reached the music club room. Jihoon fished out a small key from his trousers" pocket, inserting it into the door keyhole unlocking the door.
Once they entered the room, Soonyoung sprawled on the nearest sofa without even taking off his shoes.
"Hey! Take those off! " Jihoon scolded his friend who got startled, but carefully took off his shoes, setting them beside the sofa neatly, while glancing at Jihoon - who was now busy with his guitar- in fear.
He just rested his head on his arm while lying on the sofa, watching Jihoon plucking for inspiration on his guitar.
"Jihoon, Let's take the kids from the orphanage to a field trip, in the weekend. "
Soonyoung suggested in excitement as his eyes glinted with enthusiasm.
He was raised in that orphanage since he was a baby.
Apparently, his parents left him at the doorway of the orphanage in a stormy night.
Since then he was taken in the orphanage and was raised there till he was nine years old, when he was adopted by an elder couple, who never had kids for years since they got married.
They treated him well like he was their own son.
Sadly they died in a car accident when he was in middle school.
He was miserable and depressed that year until he decided he would visit the orphanage where he was raised up, where the kids made him feel at home again.
"Fine. Am free this weekend. "
Answered Jihoon without taking his eyes off his guitar, he was now playing a beautiful melody.
