Chapter 37
Ian's Pov
"You'll know" She said with an expression that doesn't satisfy me at all, I keep blinking more than needed hoping I would wake up and this is all a dream, How can my mind process all of this at once I can't help the tight feeling in my chest and the aching in my heart, My grandmother is dead in the most awful way, Moon suffered for almost a year alone the only girl I've ever loved turned into a killer...I'm a killer too I thought I'd feel happy taking Nan's revenge but I won't deny the guilt I feel inside like any human being, our life wasn't supposed to be this way.
Tonight feels like a dream but it's not it's insanely real and it's gonna hunt me in my dreams forever
"How many hours left?" Moon asked breaking my thoughts and I believe I saw her wiping a tear
I looked at my phone "It's 4:15 AM about 3 hours left" I said looking at her, she kinda freaked out
"Hurry up" She said clearing her throat
"Moon what's wrong your face is worrying me" I said literally feeling my stomach tight
She put her hand on my thigh while I'm focusing on the road "Nothing I just want to feel safe...there c-cause I protected the place very well so we can stay there till the p-purge ends" She said and I nodded
"Don't worry we're almost there"

I parked the car in an abandoned garage and then went back to enter in the trap door and found that Moon actually did a pretty good job protecting the place she basically did nothing at all, I don't see locks, wooden shell or even an iron door
"Where is the protection?" I chuckled
"You'll see when we enter" she said and when we entered she pressed a button on her phone and it buzzed twice"Now all the doors are under electric shock system till the purge ends"
"So, you want to say that I'm stuck with you" I smiled and she without any introduction came fast and cupped my cheeks pressing her lips against mine, I deepened the kiss dissolving all of the pain, the guilt, the sadness into this kiss she moved her hand up my hair with her fingers running through it, I've never felt like this before. it wasn't our first kiss but it felt like it's our first without secrets or fear
She pulled back gasping for air and lift her lid looking directly into my eyes
She smiled "I kinda needed this" I chuckled planting a kiss on her soft lips
But as soon as I pulled back it's like a curtain has been lifted to see reality and all the pain landed on my heart like a heavy rock, I'm not trying to imagine the house without nan anymore but at least Moon's here
She noticed that my mood swang "I'm so sorry...she wasn't your nan only, I considered her mine too" she said wiping a tear
"She was my whole family...she didn't deserve to die like this"
She took my hand in hers and eased my fist "Your fist" like usual I didn't realize
"Come upstairs" she said pulling me by her hand
"Upstairs?"
"Yes the roof plus I will tell you the last scene"
I smiled "Scene? Is this a movie?"
She kissed the back of my hand "Yes and you're the hero of it....the main character" Why is she so mysterious?!
We climbed the wooden ladder upstairs and I'm hella surprised, she cleaned the place, it's still empty but clean and the two bag chairs are here and two wine bottles with two glasses
I smiled "You know that you could have done this romantic scene any day besides the purge night right?" I said and she giggled giving me the warmest look ever
"What? I wanted to see the sunrise with you"
"You're unexpected...but I adore it" I said and automatically she started tearing up
"What's wrong with your high full emotions" I chuckled wiping hers
"Come sit" she said sitting down and I followed her
"But why two?" I asked referring to the two wine bottles
"U-um because you like red wine b-but I love white"
"Uh yes"
She opened my bottle and poured some then handed me the glass "Thank you" I said taking a sip
I turned my gaze to find her staring at me like literally scanning me like she's trying to remember how I look "What?"
"Nothing, just staring. at your perfect. face." She said it very slowly still staring at me but I ignored the weird vibe I got and received her words with a warm a smile and leaned in planting a kiss on her cheek
"Aren't you gonna drink?"
"Yes, I-I will" She said grabbing her glass but her hands are shaking that she was about to drop it "carful"
"Sorry" She smiled pouring her white wine and slowly took a sip, swallow it then looked at me
"How many hours left?" She asked
"It's 5:30"
"Mmm hour and a half" She whispered
"What happened with Emily?" I asked again
"The only thing that kept her alive that she once was a real friend....My knife was so near her that I almost lost it and stabbed her, it was like a magnet"
Flashback
"Moon, what are you going to do?"
"What you deserves for selling me to them, for ruining me"
"I didn't mean to Moon, I really loved you as a friend...but when I knew Ian had feelings for you I couldn't help it, I'm so sorry please Moon"
"Do you know how hurt I am?"
"I know cause I feel exact the same"

"And I couldn't do it...it wasn't her fault falling for you" She said finishing her second glass
"I just don't get how things got into this"
"The scariest and the hardest part of waking up tomorrow is remembering everything you were trying to forget last night" I continued looking at the abandoned view as the sun is starting to rise but she's just listening
"It sucks, I thought I was getting better...life was getting better but it's not"
"Your thoughts are killing you, aren't they?" I asked turning my gaze to her but she's still staring forward, I held her hand capturing her attention, she slowly turned her head and her face was pale, eyes are red and her nose is bleeding
I flinched standing up "Moon what's happening to you?"
"I'm sorry" She cried in pain
"Sorry?"
"What did you do Moon?" I asked literally about to lose it
"I-I won't bare continuing my l-life like this"
"W-what..what do you mean? WHAT DID YOU DO MOON" I yelled and her pupil landed on the wine bottle
"No, no moon you didn't" I fell on my knees in front of her and all I'm hearing is her sobbing
"You poisoned yourself?" I said looking at the bottle not processing what is happening
She coughed "How am I going to live with this guilt?"
"SO YOU SOLVED IT BY KILLING YOURSELF" I shouted in anger throwing the bottle at the wall and it shattered into thousand pieces
I stood up, looking at her dying face and tug through my hair "I CAN'T EVEN TAKE YOU TO A F**KING HOSPITAL" I screamed tears running down my face
She balanced herself standing up and took a step closer "I won't help seeing your face everyday and all I can think about is I'm the reason you lost y-your grandma" she coughed " I won't help seeing the disappointment in my parents eyes e-every single day...I'm not capable of forgetting, this night w-will never leave m-" she groaned in pain holding her stomach, I ran to her "Oh no, no" I said and she held my forearm to stand with balance
"I'm dead Ian, you k-know the feeling when your tears can't even drop and you feel nothing, it's l-like the world has just ended, you don't cry, you don't hear, you don't see, you j-just stay there for a second, the heart dies..that's how I feel" She cried
"How can you do this to me?" I hissed
"You're leaving me when I'm completely alone...you didn't think about me? Or how am I gonna live?"
"No, Ian you're gonna live, a-as I said you're the hero"She said then grabbed a bag that was next to the chair
"Take my phone, y-you will find all their parents's numbers, y-you will send them a text with my address in order to them to know where are their sons"
"Why Moon?" I cried in pain
"And this is for y-you" She said handing me a notebook that looks exactly like the diary
"What is this?"
"The last chapter" she said sobbing, I dropped it and looked deeply into her eyes, my face is an inch apart from her that I can feel her warm breath
"You're leaving me" I whispered
She cupped my cheeks "I'm freeing you, you didn't deserves any of this...I don't deserves you, When the purge ends Moon will end with it and y-you Ian the one that loved me truly, deeply, warmly will start your new chapter..it's gonna be hard at first but you'll get through it like you always do...But I chose to have my last chapter with you" Her voice broke "You can't believe how happy I'm that the last face I'm seeing is yours...I'm so sorry, and this is surely going to be my last apology" She pressed her lips gently into mine"I love you so much" she said with our foreheads touching "I love you " I said in the most broken voice an ear can ever witnesses, She plant a kiss on my cheek and suddenly she coughed blood and started gasping for air "Moon" I mumbled looking at her face freaking out, Her hand fell off my cheek and every muscle in her body relaxed like a body fainting and I fell on my knee with her body in my hands
"Moon" I said tapping on her shoulder hoping she answers
I rested her head on my lap "Moon a-answer me" I start tapping on her cheek
"Moon don't leave me please"
I tugged through my hair "MOON ANSWER ME FOR GODDESS SAKE" I shouted in pain
"WHY?" I cried hugging her tightly
"WHY MOON? YOU'RE SO SELFISH YOU...You left me alone"
