The Commanders

Waxer put his hand above his eyes. "See any cave somewhere?"

"No," one of the soldiers said. Waxer sighed, looking at the ground. Suddenly, someone came up to him. "Hey," the voice, Commander Nexus, said. Commander Waxer looked at him with a very satisfied expression. "Hmm." "Can I talk to you for a sec?" Waxer looked away from the soft ground. He walked to Nexus.

They got into the place we usually sat at. As they settled in, Nexus started rendered, "I'm sorry about some of your men. I really do." Waxer sighed.

"Don't we all," Waxer said. Nexus looked by the side of him. The sky was dimming, with the pink clouds moving through the sky. "Yes, we all do." Waxer put in ammo for a rifle. "What are you doing?" "It's just some rifle that had no ammo." Nexus cleared his throat. "Well, I remember when I was in the army back in 1922, some Russians were trying to make the US out of order. Killing the army, killin the president. All that stuff."

Waxer nodded. Nexus continued, "One time, these Russians were capturing our men. I always learned to always help your fellow man. A bunch of us tried to stop them. We ended up being captured with them. After about almost the whole week, I was the only survivor to escape."

"Sorry about that," Waxer articulated. "We all know that war can be very serious sometimes." "It is always serious, my friend," Nexus jested. Waxer stated, "Yes, that is true. Many people die, just trying to keep our country safe. For hundreds of years, since the 1770's. Sometimes it's just the way it's supposed to look like. People die. You're just very lucky if you survive."

Nexus nodded. "That is true. But, that's not the point I'm trying to make." Waxer sat up. "I believe we should move on," Nexus said. Waxer shouted, "What do you mean, move on!"

"You said so yourself," Nexus said. "People die." "Yeah, they do, when an enemy shoots them. Not when you have a choice to save them!"

Nexus hissed, "You listen to me here! You know what happened that last time when I tried to save someone?

I'm warning you. I will not be having your men, being trapped! We would lose this battle over here! They will annihilate our men! Think about this for a sec. Think about it. Losing your men, and letting President Roosevelt be notified you lost this freaking Sahara batte?!"

Waxer stayed quiet. His countenance turned more worried, and a bit angry. Nexus walked away, his physiognomy very discouraged, and very disappointed.
