Chapter 8

𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗼𝗸'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

'𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘢𝘥, 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯...'

"Jungkook, come down!" Jin called. Jungkook sighed and made his way down.

"We better go find the others before they come out to look for us and get lost," Jin mentioned and the three started walking the way they had come from.

"There you guys are!" Jimin called. "I was so worried."

"You're all okay right?" Kate asked while Ava hugged Hoseok, Jungkook smiled at the couple and looked at Hani. She was standing at the back of the group with her lips pressed together tightly. He smiled at her and she returned it while he walked over to her.

"Is everything okay?" He asked.

She nodded quickly and smiled. But he knew she was hiding something, he could feel it, but he didn't know if now was the right time to get it out of her, so he walked over to Jin.

"Let's go, we have to move that way," Jungkook said.

It took them a really long time to reach the fence with those long breaks they took in daylight and those rough nights dodging the Hollowens.

At times they had decided to walk through the night and it wasn't long before they could see the tall fence. The group was engulfed in darkness when they saw it. For others, it would have symbolised trap but to them it was freedom.

"Omg Look!!"

Everyone turned to look at Emily with there eyes wide in shock. Emily hadn't realised how loud she had spoken. Hani put a finger up, telling her to be quiet. But it was too late, and Jungkook knew that.

The smallest amount of sound could be the death of them.

He whipped around looking for any movement, but he saw nothing until his gaze landed near the fence.

Near the fence stood the creature. Tall and confident, with absolutely nothing to worry about, nothing to lose, while he had every bit to worry and more than a lot to lose.

"Sh*t!" he heard Jin whisper. Jungkook shook his head and bit his lip while pulling up his gun extremely slowly.

"Don't move," he whispered. Everyone obeyed, even Emily, who had picked up the hint.

'𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳.'

Jungkook held the handle and stared at it before he started pulling. He groaned from the effort as the pain rushed through his arm and grew as he pulled harder. He fought the pain on his arm and continued till it hit the latch and he heard the satisfying click of the metal clicking in its place. He smiled and released his grip on the handle as he lifted the gun to aim, but the Hollowen was not there.

Jungkook whipped around to the group.

"Where'd it go?" he asked.

"It's gone," Jin spoke.

'𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵! 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨.'

"Ok, let's get out of here then," Jimin spoke.

"Be careful though, I'm bleeding....again," Jungkook spoke. "Let's go one by one, we can keep watch."

Jin agreed and Hoseok volunteered to leave first. The group trudged towards the fence with their guns loaded and ready.

"Guys stop!" Hani called. They all turned to look at where she is looking. The Hollowen stood so close to them.

"I'm scared," Hani whispered. Jungkook looked at her, she had tears welling up in her eyes. Jungkook nudged Jimin and he got the hint. As Jimin slowly moved towards Hani, someone gripped his hand. He turned to look at Jiwon. She was clutching onto his arm. He turned back and looked at Jungkook who was stilling watching with his brow raised. Jimin sighed.

Suddenly there was loud 'boom' and the Hollowen was no more. They all turned to look at Jin who had done the job. Jimin moved away from Jiwon, grabbed Hani's hand and pulled her back towards Jungkook. She stood quietly between the two and watched Hoseok march away.

They all watched as Hoseok's figure started climbing the fence. Jungkook and Jin were looking everywhere, their heads jerking like they could break it any second.

Hoseok started waving after a while and Kate stepped forward.

𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗲'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

Kate bolted into the darkness, she ran all the way to the fence and stopped as she adjusted her foot into the holes.

"Ummm...Hoseok.." she started. Simultaneously her grip on the fence released and her foot came down. Hoseok looked back at her confused until he turned around and sew it standing there, on its hind legs as it stared at him like he was its prey.
