Jennifer's POV

"Are you f*ckin serious?"

"Don't shout on phone Sophia. You are hurting my ears."

"He kissed you? "

"Ummm.. yeah he did" I said blushing.

"I need details." she said.

"I will give you all the details but first let me work. We'll talk when we are home."

"Okay Baby. Bye"

"Bye!!" I cut the call and went back to work. Emerson isn't here . I'm just worried what would be happening there. I was busy working when I heard a woman shouting outside my office. I went out to look what's happening.

"Just tell that bi*ch to meet me" Nia was shouting on top of her voice and Brenda was trying to calm her down.

"What's happening here?" I asked and everyone looked at me.

"The girl is here... " Nia said angrily.

"What do you want Nia?" I asked her.

"I wanted to know who trained you to become this?" she taunted.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You stole my man Jennifer Winget. Who trained you to seduce your boss and steal him from his girl? Your Mother.?" she said making my blood boil

"Listen Nia. Don't you dare drag my mother in this. I haven't done anything" I said controlling my anger because all of my colleagues were present there.

"Haven't done anything my foot. What do you want Jennifer... Money? I'll give you enough. Just stay away from my Emerson." she said.

"Your Emerson? Then why did your Emerson was with me yesterday?" I asked. She came forward and slapped me.

"Coz you are a trained gold digger. You know how to play.. it's my last warning to you. Stay away from my to be husband." she threatened and left.

Everyone stared at me and were whispering.

Brenda just gave me a sorry look.

I went to my cabin and closed the door behind. I started crying.. harder.

I was still shocked at what happened just now. She slapped me.. and why couldn't I slap her back? Is it because she was right.

I do like Emerson but it's not because of his money. I liked spending time with him. He was there for me when I almost went to depression. He helped me get out of that state. He treated me well and .. I did got jealous seeing any other girl with him and he? He himself told me that he likes me too.. where's the money involved in this? But everyone would think that .. I wanted money.. that's why I'm with him. And about that to be husband thing.. are they getting married? Then why did he said he liked me?.

All these thoughts were running in my mind and the tears weren't stopping.

After some time .. I wiped my tears and went back to work.

I heard a knock on the door and allowed the person to come in.

A man entered with a huge bouquet of flowers covering his face.

"Who are you?" I asked shocked and confused.

The man then moved the bouquet aside. It was Emerson with a huge smile on his face.

"Emerson? You almost scared me." I said getting up. He came closer and handed me those beautiful flowers.

"Thank you " I said smiling and kept the bouquet on the table

He came more closer and moved my hair behind the ear and held my face.

I avoid looking at him.

"Look into my eyes Jennifer." he said

I looked up.

"Were you crying?" he whispered.

"N-No.. no. Why would I?" I said laughing and tried to get away from his hold but failed. He pulled me closer.

"But your eyes aren't agreeing to what you just said." he said.

"Yea.. actually I was missing my mother so.. " I lied and he nodded.

"I don't like it when you cry. You should smile always. " he said.

"By the way how was the meeting with your Dad?" I asked changing the subject.

"I'll tell you when you will tell me the truth about why were you crying" he said

"God .. Emerson I told you already. I was missing my mom that's why I cried." I said but he didn't seemed to be convinced.

"You yourself forget the things you say to me" he said smiling.

"What are you talking about?" I said.

"You told me that you no more cry when you think about your parents. In fact you smile thinking that you made them proud. And if you don't want to tell me what happened.. don't worry. I am the bloody boss.. I'll find it myself." he said fixing his suit and left hurriedly.

"Emerson!!" I tied to stop him but he left.

Emerson's POV

Do I look like a fool to her? Her swollen eyes were evident how much she cried. The thought of her crying made me feel like punching someone.

But why is she hiding the truth.

I left her cabin and came to the staff.

"Everyone!! I need you here." I said pointing them and all of them encircled me in a few seconds.

"What happened here in my absence?" I asked but nobody answered.

"You all know I don't like repeating myself" I said and they started looking at eachother.

"Sir Ms Nia came here in your absence." Brenda said.

"What? Why was she here?" I asked and she told me everything.

"So much happened here and I wasn't informed? Have you forgotten who's the Boss here?" I shouted and I could see most of them fearing me.

"We wanted to. But Ms. Winget asked not to tell you anything. Sorry Sir!" she said and I sighed.

"Next time. If anything happens here. And by anything I do mean anything. I will be the first to be informed. Am I clear?"

"Yes Sir!" everyone said.

"Back to work. Now!!" I ordered and they dispersed..

Poor girl. She never tells anyone about the problems she's going through. Not even me.

"Hello!"

"Hey Emy.. how's you?"

"I want to meet you"

"Sure.. shall we go for lunch?"

"In my office. Now"

"Kay.. I'll be there"

I cut the call and waited for her.

"Ms. Winget I want you in my cabin. Now" I said in the telecom.

She came in a minute.

"You need something Sir?" she asked and I gestured her to sit.

"Why did you hid this from me?" I asked.

"What are you talking about?"

"You know very well what I'm talking about.. Ms. Winget... Now please answer me" she was silent for some time then started speaking.

"Because I think what she said.. was right." she said

"And why do you think so?"

"Because the whole world would think the same. I know that I like you and it's not for money.. you know that too.. but everyone? All the staff members here? Your family. Friends? Everyone will think the same what she said earlier." She was about to cry

"Everyone will think me as a gold digger.. " she said then got silent.

"Emy I-" Nia entered my cabin and stopped when she saw us.

I got up and Jennifer did the same. I held her and and she looked shocked. I took her out of the cabin and  asked Nia to follow me.

Everyone stopped their work when they saw the three of us and all the eyes were on us.

I made them stand face to face.

"Nia. I want you to say sorry to Ms. Winget for your behaviour." I said and both of them looked at me with shock.

"Mr. Emerson it's-" I raised my hand making Jennifer stop whatever she was about to say.

"Why should I say sorry to her?" Nia asked.

"Ms Brenda.. why should she say sorry to her?" I asked Brenda who looked at me with horror.

"Because she used false words against her and even defamed her and her mother." she said.

"You forgot the main part Ms Brenda" I said.

"And she even slapped her Infront of everyone. " she said

"Thanks Ms Brenda" I smiled at her

"Nia.. please"

"I won't say sorry to her. And I said nothing wrong. Emy I know these kind of secretaries very well. They know the tricks how to make their boss fall in love with them and then take all their money."

"Ms. Brenda" I smiled at her and she nodded.

"Ms Nia Sir don't like repeating his words." Brenda said

"Thank you again.. Ms Brenda.. Nia. You may proceed"

"I won't" she said and folded her arms.. challenging me to force her another time.

"Mr. Emerson please.. I don't want this" Jennifer said pleading me.

"Just shut up you.. " Nia shouted at her.

"You first complained him about me and then you are doing all this drama to get sympathy. Bloody gold digger." she said.

"You are testing my patience Nia" I said.

"You are my friend and now you are fighting with me because of this girl you didn't even knew months back. This is all her plan to break our friendship. She wants to destroy us." she said.

"So you are not saying sorry?"

"No" she replied and I nodded.

"Ms Winget. Slap her"

"What?"

"You heard me Ms Winget.. I want you to slap her the way she did"

"I can't sir." she said

"She defamed you and your mother Infront of everyone and even slapped you. No need to worry. I'm by your side. Slap her"

"Don't you dare touch me" Nia said to her.

"I'm not even interested Nia. " Jennifer said irritated.

"I'm sorry Sir. But my mother has taught me to forgive.. not to take revenge.. please excuse me" she said and left.

"Leave!" I told Nia.

She stared at me for a minute then left.

"Sorry for all this ... You may work now" I told everyone. My work here was over. I knew it from the beginning that she won't slap her. I wanted everyone to know who has the bigger heart and it was proved.

I went to her cabin. She was standing facing the wall.

When I entered.. she turned towards me and we both started walking towards each other. We stopped when we were too close to each other.

She looked into my eyes then came into my arms. I hugged her back.

"She said you are going to get married to her."

"I came to know bout this today only. Dad had fixed this wedding with her parents." she released herself and then looked at me.

"I'm not marrying her. Don't worry." I said and pulled her closer. She rested her head on my shoulder and hugged me tightly.

Anonymous POV

"It's time to put our plan in action."

"Are you sure this would work?"

"She's special for Emerson. He can do anything for her."

"Okay Boss"

"My friend Emerson. It's time to see how far can you go to save her!!"
