The votes being four to one, they advanced the way Eric lead them before. Jericho and his team stuck around as it would be suicidal to leave alone. It took them a day and a half to get to the dungeon, now being only four people, it might take a bit less, let's say a day, but they would still have to sleep, and not be sloppy. They could also get lost if they don't sleep, or get killed more easily.
They started to feel uneasy after advancing for a while. As they walked more and more, the uneasiness became stronger, feeling like they were stalked by predators, thousands of monsters looking at them from behind, ready to pounce on them at any moment.
"Everyone formation!" Max said, and everyone snapped out of their lingering fears, getting fast into formation. They looked in all direction, thinking that Max saw something or that they were getting attacked soon. But that was when Max spoke again.
"I think everyone can feel this uneasiness, I have read about this once in a book. What we are feeling now is death energy, and it's really thick. Normally only weak minded animals or monsters could feel it, that is why not even some Magical Beasts don't wander in places with death energy around, it is not pleasant at all, inducing fear into them, so they choose to run from that place."
"Because the death energy is so strong in this area it affects our minds as well.. and I think we have also officially got into the close parameters of the dungeon, so we should look around." Max explained, he researched a lot of things when he had the chance, or he would hear a lot of interesting stuff from his father or grandpa.
The class got to work and began searching around, and after a while Jericho's voice was heard.
"G-guys I-I think I found it!" Jericho said as loud and clear as he could but his voice was trembling hard, he was feeling like something was at his throat, ready to cut him apart at any second.
They grouped up once more and circled the entrance.
"How creepy.." Will said after seeing it.
"The death energy around here feels a lot more stronger... is this for real a Low-Tier Dungeon?" Max said, feeling the thick energy pushing on his body.
It was already night, the moon was out and the rays of moonlight reflecting of it gave an menancing feeling to the place,
It was an underground tomb, and it was closed at the moment. Maybe that was the reason there weren't any undead outside, but the door looked like it was about to fall apart, holes and black mold was growing on it so it was highly unlikely.
Something was heard from inside the tomb and the door started to shake. After a while it was moving wildly, with sounds that a normal door, no matter how badly shaken, won't make. That made Max wonder what was that door and how much could it actually handle. The class was already in formation, in front of the stairs, they were ready to fight anything that came through that door.
But the door stopped shaking.
As the door stopped shaking, no more sounds were heard, and Ashley, aided by Anna's magic, and being told by Max, went to check it out. From afar, the door looked old and barely holding itself in place with black mold growing on it, but from up close, you could notice a smell with a disgusting stench on it, making Ashley want to puke. The door looked unmoved but when you checked more carefully, on the floor you could see scratch marks, looking like something was dragged or pulled on the same place repetitively.
"It has been opened before!" Ashley, quickly leaving the near vicinity of the door and heading towards Max to give the report, said.
As she got closer to Max, Margaret, Will, Jericho and Gwen all closed in to Max as well, they wanted to know more about this dungeon, even if it was just a bit more information about the entrance of the place.
After hearing her out, Max and the other leaders started discussing. And after a while they got to an agreement.
"Everyone some attention please!" Will said, gathering the attention of most of the children. "We have made a decision. Gwen.." Will gave Gwen the signal.
"As you all know, we are going to take down the dungeon, we don't want any casualties but they might not be avoidable. Everyone should do their best to protect the team, not themselves." It was now Max's turn.
"We will be resting this night, after this announcement we are all going to build our tents around the entrance." Max hit Jericho lightly.
"But rest easy guys! The entrance is tightly blocked for now, there won't be any undead coming through either." Jericho wanted to give a sign to Margaret but she started speaking before letting him show her any sign to continue.
"In battle, when you are given an order by one of us you will have to obey the order. All five of us will be leading, and we decided to trust each other for better chances at survival, you guys should do this too if you want to live." Margaret confidently said, inspiring confidence.
"No matter if they were or weren't from your team before, the people around will protect you while you have to protect them. We will be fighting as one. Are you guys with us?!" Will, the one that started this chain, finished it.
"Yeah!!" "Let's go!" Words of agreement and loud cheers were heard in the forest that night.
Everyone mixed around as they began getting their tents up. No longer were there any people that thought they couldn't trust other members, the speech had it's best outcome, it united all of the teams into one.
Everyone went to sleep soon after, not even minding the death energy around anymore.
