Matthew Abbadon

The boy smiled towards Max once more, he seemed even happier than before.

"Nice to meet you, Max!" Matt said while extending his hand towards Max, seemingly trying to shake his hand.

Seconds go by and Max doesn't shake Matt's hand, his hand was still standing in the air.

"I am not going to fall for foolish tricks" Said Max while looking at Matt. Matt put his hand down in response, he looked at Max oddly then slowly he began closing in on Max.

'S**t!' Max began walking backward, or at least that is what he wanted to do. Max realized after a while that he wasn't distancing himself, Matt kept getting closer while no progress was made to getting away from him.

Matt reached Max, then jumped in the air, grabbing Max by the collar of his clothes and as he fell down Max was brought down alongside him, standing on his knees. He brought Max at his eye-level then looked up right into Max's eyes. His red, crimson eyes began glowing in shades of purple as Max felt suppression on his body.

Matt tilted his head, smiled softly, and then addressed "Don't worry, if I wanted to do bad things to you I would have already" His voice this time surprised Max, the slim and playful tone of his voice transformed into a hoarse, deep tone full of enmity.

The pressure Max felt before was lifted, and as he realized that Max breathed in relief.

Matt let go of Max's collar then proceeded to get back to where he was before, creating distance between him and Max, giving the latter one some peace of mind.

Max realized the fact that he wasn't able to do anything. He was too weak and could be consumed by the cursed soul at any point in time, it was just toying with him at this point. He saw something moving above his peripheral vision, and as he looked up he saw a white, skinny hand extended toward him.

"Nice to meet you, Max!" a slim voice was once again heard.

This time Max accepted the handshake though, he extended his own hand and proceeded to grab the other party's hand and shake it slowly "Nice to meet you, Matt..." Max said hesitantly.

"It wasn't that bad was it?" The soul asked as if berating Max on his actions from before.

Max let out a small, uncomfortable laugh as he drew his hand back.

"Alright now, then take a seat, you have come to," Matt raised his hands in the air, his index and middle fingers from both hands were up, and as he began talking he was raising and lowering them, "..tame me.." he said, and as he put his hands down he continued, "Isn't that right?".

He finished talking and Matt began forwarding in a direction. Max switched his vision towards where Matt was walking towards and he could see two wooden chairs on each side of a quite big, wooden table. Matt stood on one of the chairs as he waited for something to happen. He was looking towards Max the entire time and as Max understood what he was needed to do, he too took a seat.

"I'll introduce myself first Max, I already know quite a lot about you so you don't even need to bother" Matt already established a level of dominance between them from the start. "Matthew Abbadon at your service Max Edward. From today we will be partners in battle." Matt said with a surreal smile on his lips.

Max was taken aback by this statement. Not only did this entity know his family name but he already established the fact that they were 'partners' which was enough to scare Max, and not by a little.

"And why do you say that Matthew Abbadon? I haven't accepted anything yet, and I also didn't propose the offer myself." Although quite scared, he wasn't going to let this entity take control over the situation, he must place bounds to their contract and act as an equal at least for it to work.

"Look... Max" Matt said while approaching his face towards Max's face "you can just call me Matt as I said before" He smiled largely at him and continued "and also, don't think that you can be bossy with me, you have just barely been able to pass the requirements for me to accept you as a Contractor. If you succumbed to the feeling of greed and would've taken me before actually being ready, I would've already devoured your soul and taken over your existence."

Max pulled the chair backward from where he was standing, Matt was basically standing on the table, ever so closing on to Max, being able to almost reach him.

"I will drop the formalities then, this is not a deal. This is more like a one-sided trade..." Max said with gloominess in his voice, he failed.

"It wasn't from the start Max, I am just giving you a way out. Contract me, I will not serve as a slave but as an equal, fair right? We will grow strong together and fight together! You will show me around the world!" Matt changed from his formal self also and was stepping on the wooden table with his hands in the air. He had a playful, childish-like aura around him now. "We can even be friends!" Matt proposed while looking at Max with dazzling, sparkling red eyes. He didn't look menacing anymore which made Max feel awkward.

"Why are you like this? I don't understand..?!" Max muttered to himself, unfortunately not even the slightest of whispers could be hidden from Matt inside the strange place they were in.

"Hundreds of years Max, hundreds of years... I have been stuck inside that thing... ever since my creation I never experienced what it means to fight. It was boring! And so when your friends took me out of that confined place and placed me beside you I knew that you would be the one that will wield me, I knew that you were the one fated to take me out of that boring place!" Matt began screaming at some point without either of them noticing, he was almost crying from what it seemed, but that might have only been an illusion as Max didn't have enough knowledge if souls were able to show such emotions.

"..." Max was speechless, he knew that he had heard him but he wasn't expecting such an answer.

"Wait... did you say ever since you were created?" Max asked, curious as to if he had heard Matt wrong in what he had said.

"Yes, ever since my creation, why?" Matt asked curiously, he didn't really have any idea why Max was asking such things, although he heard Hans talking about Blessed and Cursed weapons he didn't take it seriously, at that time he was too excited at the fact that he is going to meet Max soon.

"So you were forged by a Weapon Smither? Wouldn't that mean that you are a Blessed Weapon?!" Max stated more than questioned, he had a smile developing on his once-fearful face.

"I don't understand what you are saying, but if you are asking about if I was forged then yes, I was forged by a Weapon Master long ago, I don't remember quite a lot sadly..." Matt said apologetically at Max, it seemed like he was trying his best to answer Max truthfully.

Max was still doubtful, but it was true the fact that Hans didn't in fact carefully appraised Matt, and there was his appearance, he became more and more confident about it. "Then Matt, will you sign a contract with me?"

"What kind?" Matt asked to be reassured, it didn't want to be a slave but he wouldn't want to control Max either, from his perspective it would be too much of a pain.

"An equal contract, we will adventure together, fight together, and eventually die together. Isn't this what you wanted from the beginning also?" Max became unrestrained as his confidence in the fact that Matt was a blessed weapon grew on him.

"Alright then, shall we begin?" Matt asked as he flicked his right hand. It was good to know that neither he nor Max were standing on the wooden chairs as before, one was still walking on the table while the other got up from his seat also from excitement but had yet to get on to the table.

At the flick of Matts's hand, the chairs and table disappeared out of this world. The world was filled with darkness except for the two figures floating inside it once more but not for long. The world around them began changing, the once dark plane of existence began flickering as white diamond-shaped particles began flying everywhere.

But there was a special place where thousands of particles gathered and compressed, in the middle of the two boys a fine light could be seen, becoming brighter and brighter until Max wasn't able to keep his eyes open anymore.

As he felt that the light didn't push on his pupils anymore he slowly opened his eyes and was greeted with a parchment-looking contract.

"Then, as you know, you have to make one as well th-" Matt was interrupted as Max began creating his own parchment-looking contract. Truth be told it didn't matter how the two contracts looked like, they could even be different types of paper it didn't really matter, but normally when signing a contract both parties would shape it the same for presentation purposes.

Two parchments flew around two people, one being Max while the other being Matt. They grabbed the other's contract as it flew by them and then ripped it in two. They chucked half of the contract they ripped in two towards the middle as the other half they pressed it on their bodies.

Three lights simultaneously engulfed the dark world and as it began to recede two figures, along with one completed contract could be seen still standing. Both Max and Matt had big smiles which amplified the look on their beautiful faces.

"The contract is complete!" Matt happily said, while Max only replied with a nod and another smile.
